The prices for rentals are totally reasonable and they hoisted the heavy tandem kayak we rented up on top of my very tall vehicle and ratcheted it down. Rental included life vests and paddles. One of the highlights was the brief instructional on attaching the beast to my roof rack, and I am happy to say that I finally understand how to thread ratcheting tie downs. Make a volcano, then rappel down into the volcano. We had a great day on the reservoir and these guys made it easy peasy. I'll be back in a few weeks for a paddle board.

I found the $15 entry fee to be a bit steep, but I was desperate to find a nice beach so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. A big downside was that around 6:30pm, clouds of bugs started coming out. I realize that, being outside, bugs are inevitable. But I would suggest coming earlier if you want to avoid them. Overall, a very nice beach with beautiful scenery that's quite close to SLC.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Catching the keepers in the main ponds was not much of a fishing challenge, but still fun. They clean the fish for you right on the spot and we came home with a couple of meals for all of us. You could easily catch as many as you want, but for price consideration we stopped at 3 a peice. We brought a fly rod and the three of us shared time fishing the trophy pond, that is catch and release. That was also super fun and more of challenge than the keeper ponds. After fishing we walked around the grounds for a bit which was also nice. I highly recommend a visit.

While the beauty of Logan Canyon itself is hard to top, Tony Grove Lake is absolutely stunning…read more You will find the lake, nature trail, and campground at the end of a long side road off hwy 89 in Logan Canyon. When I visited, it was late afternoon on a Saturday in July. The parking lot was completely full, but we got lucky and were able to grab a spot just as someone left. It was clear that many people had enjoyed activities in the lake earlier in the day (swimming, kayaking, and fishing), due to the state of the restrooms and all of the large amount of sleepy-looking children sitting around. Since we weren't planning to go in the water, I think we arrived at the perfect time of day to enjoy the scenery. The nature trail around the lake was beautiful, especially with all the wildflowers blooming! I'd recommend doing the full trail, which is just 1.2 miles around with approximately 60' elevation gain (more of a walk/stroll than a hike). Seeing all of the different types of wildflowers up close was incredible! If you would prefer to sit and enjoy the views instead of walking around the lake, I'd recommend brining your own chairs, as there were only a few tables and benches scattered around. After enjoying the trail, we drove through the campground and found it to be very pretty. There were lots of large pine trees, allowing for a fair amount of privacy for nearly all of the sites. Tony Grove would be a great stop on the way through Logan Canyon, but is also a destination in itself. Try to visit mid-summer to avoid the snow and catch the wildflowers in full bloom!

My family and friends have been coming here as a group of 13 families for over 20 years…read more Unfortunately, this year the staff completely ruined our trip. Their behavior was unprofessional and unfriendly from start to finish. We were harassed over day passes we had already purchased, and even tried to charge us for a day pass at 9:38 PM just for dropping off some items. When a few families left early, their campsite (still paid for and under our name) sat empty. We simply asked to park another family's car there. not stay overnight and were met with an unnecessary argument. The final straw was being given a ticket for "using" a day pass until 10:30 PM because we were sitting around a campfire. After two decades of loyal visits, we're shocked at how poorly we were treated. Sadly, we won't be coming back, and it's unbelievable to think that after all these years, staff behavior would drive us away.
