One of the best Fourth of July experiences I ever had! They're constantly flowing and the experience is amazing the river water was so cold this year which was shocking but amazing. I definitely recommend going at the 1130 time slot as the river is not as busy. Additionally I wish that the staff was more friendly in regards to their lack of tubes. The girl who was handling the load into the water was a little aggressive in my personal opinion just on how they said they overbooked constantly and that we needed to hurry down the river for the lack of tubes. Great experience otherwise. DO NOT RECCOMEND FOR PPL UNDER 12 OR ANYONE OVER 50 its not super super safe for like rocks and branches you could easily break something. read more

Came in from Denver for vacation and decided to try this... we had a blast! It was a little more work than we expected, there is a fair amount of arm paddling needed to navigate the river, but the river was not tough at all. We had sooooo much fun!! Do agree with other reviewers though... you do need to listen to the instructions. If you do, it's super simple. While drinking is aloud, and we definitely did... don't be an idiot and get drunk on the river. Just use your common sense and this is an awesome experience. Wish we could have done it again during our trip, but couldn't... will definitely do again if we come back. read more

Super nice people, we had a blast on our way down the river and are so glad we decided to go (I was reading these reviews and having second thoughts). That being said: this is not a lazy river, we spent nearly the whole time flailing in our tubes trying to avoid big rocks and little rapids. Definitely wished we were in something like a raft with oars we could use. The water was cold and it took us at least 2 hours to get to the end.. we were ready to get out around the 1 hour mark. Definitely recommend wearing shoes because hitting those rocks with your bare feet would hurt. We did meet someone who was hurt on the side of the river, probably a broken bone(s), so injuries do happen. If you decide to go just remember to wear shoes and keep your butt UP! read more

I have nothing negative to say about the company besides I wish they had emphasized about how dangerous this river truly is. While our driver was going over the safety instructions, he casually mentioned that there's one spot where there's a temporary bridge and you have to get out of the water, walk around it, and then get back in. The way he described it seemed easy enough, only that there's a very limited amount of space between the bottom of the bridge and the water. When we got to the bridge, my partner was able to make it out but I was too far to the left of the river to swing myself over. When I got out of my tube and tried standing up in the water, the current was so swift that it kept pushing me forward. I had no choice but to swim beneath the bridge to the other side, holding onto my tube so it wouldn't float away. Fortunately, I'm a strong swimmer. I was lucky and came out the other side unscathed but a bit shaken up. For anyone who isn't or has a fear of water or is doing this activity with kids under 12 years old, I would NOT recommend tubing here as an activity. Especially if you're expecting a chill afternoon float. read more

Negative 1 Star .. went for the first time on Sunday 8/2/20 the staff was sketchy AF ... from the beginning the van ride up was horrible .. jumped on the freeway going 120 ... got off was told to get out and wait for instructions. The lady giving instructions looked like she was hungover and had just did a few hits of meth!!! Very sketchy instructions .. got a tube and our group of 7 was off.. we got separated within the first 5 minutes ... long story short it was scary AF flipped over got sucked under and my leg got caught between 2 rocks meanwhile the current was taking me and crushed my whole ankle!!!this $25 dollar trip turned into several thousand ... had to be rescued out by firefighters sheriff and EMT!!!was in surgery 2hours later .... please please take this serious ... This place is so much FUN and more than worth the money. $25.00 a person for about 1 1/2 to 2hrs to ride down the river on a raft. If u r scared do not do it bc once u get in u cannot get out. Chris the guy that took us down to the river was the best he told us everything to do and not to do. Listen to him he knows for sure. I would go back again for sure. We booked on line on Monday to plan out our week. The plan was to go on Wednesday but the weather here was a little gloomy so I called them to see if we could move to another day. They moved us to another day of our choice. One the day we had planned we arrived about an HR or more earlier to see if we could go down on the river sooner and they took us down. This one star is for the river itself. I would give the water more stars but don't want to bump up the company rating. Don't know how this business is still running. We had most of the bad experiences everyone else posted plus some. Injuries, no guide, no real instruction...they basically dropped us with a few verbal directions and drove away. If you get hurt or lose your tube good luck unless someone in your group is able to help. When we were pulling out of the river, it was also a problem. We almost lost one of our group down river because the guy picking us up was telling her to not let go of her tube when she was almost drowning. Luckily our group recued her so the worker wouldn't drop his cigarette. Our ride back was literally 100mph pulling the raft trailer while he texted and talked on the phone swerving all over the road in a dirty old shuttle without seat belts. Enough said.... read more

So this place isn't a come relax along the spring and have a few beers. It's a rapid one feeling where u gotta put some work into it. You should must be shoes that u can wear in water. Also don't sit so deep with your butt in the tub as there's rocks along the way where u can hurt yourself. Sit up a little and you will likely not tip or get stuck any one area. I can tell u, I had a bag full of goodies tied to my tube but got caught between branches and a rock and will all my mighty strength could not get it unhooked and took superman strength to unhook the bag from my tube thus the water is powerful respect it. There is places of calm and relaxation and parts where u can stop off n take a breather but most part it's using a lot of hands and look out where u are going! It's a fun adventure I dig it! Not enough safety was explained, at the end of our trip there was a rather large rapid and 3 in my party somersaulted into rocks, fell out of the tubes, and were dragged 50 yards being slammed into rocks. We had never done something like this before and I don't believe this company did a great job explaining what to do in different scenarios that could compromise safety. read more

If you want the nightmare of your life, please go ahead and do this. The currents are very very strong. Do not think that this will be a leisurely ride down the river. Get ready to be BRUISED, BUMPED and SUCKED between rocks. If you have a large raft with 4-5 people, this will be fine. But do not even think about taking a tube down this treacherous river. We almost DIED. The owners do not have any empathy, compassion or concern about informing the customers about the perils on this river. There are bridges, fallen trees and what not. It is a NIGHTMARE. If you are an experienced swimmer, rafter and high speed rapids kayaker or competitive athlete in this field. Then I think you should be fine. This is NOT FOR FAMILY or kids. Went with a group of ten. We all agreed it was the worst possible way to spend a day in Utah. 1: The river is formed by snow melt so it is as cold as ice. We were all shivering uncontrollably by the end. 2: The current is super fast and there's no way to stay together on tubes, so this isn't really a social activity. You'll be doing it alone. 3: Not safe. Not even close. Don't bring children. Look closely at the waiver you have to sign, there's a reason it covers liability for anything including injury and death. The kids were dragged under the current several times and there are tons of jagged rocks you can't see. We all came out with cuts and bruises. I can't believe this is legally allowed to be a business. 4: This river is heavily trafficked by whitewater rafting tours, who seem to be pretty angry that anyone is tubing it. We were run down and pushed under by at least a dozen rafts full of people who either wouldn't or couldn't do anything to avoid hitting us. If you really want to do this, take one of the raft tours. This is a horrible river for tubing. Worst day ever. read more

Not a leisurely time. Some parts were but some parts got real tough. Directions were real simple: practice before you start, avoid the 2 tunnels on the left, pick up your feet around the concrete pillars, stay close to the cliff near the end, and stand up near the exit so that you don't float away and miss it. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. $25 was well worth the fun and experience. Someone mentioned wearing a light long sleeved shirt would prevent tube rash. Should have listened. I was a little nervous prior to booking this trip with all of the mixed reviews. With that being said, our group of 7 beginner/ intermediates had a BLAST! We went at 11:15 and had no problems with crowds on the river. The water was cold but is easily overlooked while you are floating down the rapids. This is the first time I've made a review but had to share this after having a terrible experience with my group today. I want to be transparent about the situation because my group was drinking and I was one of the sober drivers. This company seemed organized as they required you to reserve the amount of people in your party beforehand to a specific time slot so they wouldn't overbook their transportation shuttles/van. Our time slot was set for 2:30 pm so we were required to be there by 2:00 pm. When we arrived at 2:00, the employees checked us in, made us sign the waivers, and pleasantly showed us the location to find our designated life jackets. When 2:30 pm came along, they gave us a brief rundown about the river and certain locations to get out of the river, specifically a temporary bridge that could be dangerous if you went under. The people around us including myself mentioned that was a lot of info for us to retain in a short amount of period. Now, this is where it got frustrating because they loaded us into one of the older shuttles with no a/c and tiny windows in 95F heat. Our group became frustrated because they kept us waiting in this hot shuttle while triying to figure out how to get the other shuttle for some of our party members as well as another group joining us. Unfortunately, they must've not accounted for the amount of people in the time slot because some of our group members had to wait for the other shuttle that was 20-30 minutes away. Now instead of taking our shuttle immediately up there after knowing it was full, they kept us idling in the 95F heat for an extra 10 minutes in hopes to maybe keep our group together.. idk. To make matters worse, there was construction below the freeway entrance enroute to the drop off location. We were forced to stay idled again for 10 minutes while watching construction workers holding stop signs to prevent vehicles from going over what appeared to be newly applied asphalt. During this time, I became further drenched in sweat and that is when I felt like I was about to pass out. At this point we were yelling out the window because they were now allowing cars from the opposite side to cross the newly paved asphalt. Now this incident wasn't the companies fault but the combination of events led to heat exhaustion for me. I couldn't go down the river. The owner, Wade who also was an EMT, was really nice and assessed me to make sure I was ok. He took me back in the other van that they brought up for the rest of our party so I could rehydrate and cool off. He made sure I had a/c which was nice and we had good conversation including that temporary bridge that was hurting his business because of the pain it caused his tubers getting out prior to the bridge as well as the dangers if one of his tubers accidentally went under. When we got back, he gave me more water and gatorade which I really appreciated. Flash forward 1 hr later, I get a call from one of our party members stating one of our drunker friends accidentally went under that temporary bridge and tipped over. They said they thought they saw him get up but wasn't sure where he was afterwards. Becoming the concerned sober driver and friend, I reported this to the barefoot employees, when they said "oh he went under?" he should be fine and will be able to get through it. And if it became a problem, our party would've directly called them, barefoot tubing. In hindsight I should've said not everybody in our group except for a few had their number but I listened to them since they were the experts, however the dangers of someone going under the bridge seemed contradictory to what I was informed with earlier.. Flash forward an extra 30 minutes, I get a call again from my party asking if I had heard from the drunker friend as they thought he was helped by one of the barefoot employees on the other side of the bridge and should've been safely transported back to the site by now. knowing he wasn't at the site with me and how they initially downplayed a drunk person tipping over and not being found, I asked them if he was found and they said no. I then urged the employees to go look for him and demanded them to tell me where I needed to go to search for him since I was terrified knowing it is never good when you hear "drunk friend" " going under the temporary bridge/tipping over", and "hasn't been seen since". After searching, I fortunately was able to locate him with another barefoot tubing party. But I was pretty appalled about the experience so I went to voice my complaints to the shuttle driver picking up the rest of our group when he told me, hey man I don't want to be rude but we just rent out the tubes, its not our responsibility to find your friend. AT THAT POINT I WAS DISGUSTED BY THEIR SERVICE. I understand it isn't their responsibility but as their clients I felt like they should've shown some empathy. Hope this never happens to anyone else but felt compelled to share this horrible experience. read more

Some things you should know and I wish I knew before I went since the people who work there don't tell you any of this: -wear water shoes to keep your toes/feet safe -go with someone who is experienced so they can save you when you fall off the tube and are carried downstream by the strong current -the upper half of the river has more rapids than the lower half -you will get scratched up from being pushed into the trees and bushes by the current -you will have to paddle with your arms to avoid rocks and trees. It helps to have an oar or oar-like object (someone in our group brought a broom) I am a little bit traumatized because i was stuck between 2 rocks and the current sucked the tube out from under me and then dragged me through where i hit a bunch of rocks underneath me. The current was too strong so I wasn't able to help myself up to get to my tube. Fortunately, a member of my group came to rescue me! Overall, if I that incident didn't happen, I would have given this activity 5 stars because it was definitely fun and a good experience. Next time will be better now that I know what to expect but it will probably be a while before I can get back into that river on a tube! read more

Best $25.00 of fun I have spent in a long time! My husband and I are moving across country in July, and needed a water activity to cool down from the July heat. I was scared after already booking and then reading the Yelp reviews but, I'm not sure who wrote the bad reviews because I give them a perfect score for customer service, equipment, knowledge and time management (not easily earned from me.) Customer service: When I originally called To book I got their voice mail. I didn't leave a message, however they called me back from caller ID and I booked our trip for the next day. We decided it was too cold for our original time and rescheduled without a problem. When we arrived, all staff was super friendly. Our van driver and "drop off dude" was funny and knowledgeable pulling us into a group and teaching us about the tubes and all the spots how to ride the river "left,right,left,right." "Lean back." Our ride back: well.... we got the last two standing spots on the bus that I am so thankful for! Of course, there was another bus right behind ready to pick up another load of customers. Thank you for providing such a fun and memorable experience for my husband and I on our cross country adventure moving to Alaska! We received brand new tubes that were sturdier than the ones I've rented at provo river.Our guide was a gal, and she was very informative as to where we would encounter obstacles, paddling tips, as well as suggestions for securing our belongings. There are also dangerous areas of the river which are marked accordingly. This river is more akin to an extreme sport than the lazy river at lagoon. There are rapids, and rocks, and logs. You may get bruised, and scratched, and even get a little bloody, but then again this is something you can expect skateboarding or BMX ing. I don't think this business should be downvoted for something nature designed. That said, for tubers seeking an adventure, I do have some tips: 1. Definitely wear closed toe shoes that will stay on. Not only will these protect your feet as you collide against rocks, if you get thrown of your tube, you will be able to stand up and grab your tube again much quicker. 2. Do no bring expensive items you do not want to lose on the river. Including glasses, ID, keys, etc. 3. We went on a day when it wasn't very hot. It helped to stop and get out at a shore in the middle, get some warmth from the sun, and stretch out our muscles (this river is a workout!) 4. SUNSCREEN. My fiance was quite sunburned. 5. Be aware of your body weight distribution. For example, If you want to paddle to get closer to a area behind you, gently lean back. During rapids, it is generally best to lie flat on the tube, while hugging it with your legs and arms, this will "anchor" you to the center of the tube. I flipped once during the rocky area to the right at the beginning, and I think I avoided more flips by being aware of my body weight distribution on the tube. 2 members of my party of 4 didn't even flip once. read more

So much fun here. I brought my boyfriend, younger sister, two younger brothers, and my two younger cousins. I'd been lazy river tubing before (booze tubing) so I figured I'd give this a go. This is NOT a lazy river. It's also not as crazy as some people describe it either. If you follow the instructions, know how to avoid rocks, and are a good paddler, you'll be fine. Just buy your own equipment and avoid this place. Called them a week and a half in advance to reserve a tubes, shuttle, and life jacket. The guy sounded annoyed on the phone that the reservation was only for 2 people and hung up the phone. I called back to confirm the reservation, he assured me my reservation was complete. The day we arrive they say they are overbooked and don't have a reservation for us. They were rude the whole time and offered no way to resolve the issue. Worst customer service ever!!! DO NOT GO!!! UNSAFE!! First of all, if you look at my other reviews, they are all positive. I don't like posting negative things. This is a safety precaution and I want to prevent others from getting hurt!! My sister booked this trip for my mom and I, who are from the east coast and not outdoorsy. She called ahead of time, asking what the difficulty level was. She was assured this is really more of a lazy river, where there are no rapids and the water is at your waist. NOT THE CASE!!! There is little to no safety instruction. No one checks your life vest or talks to you about what to do if you lose your tube. You are driven to the drop off point in a broken down van, before you are dumped into the river with no guidance or supervision. The owner made a few jokes about concussions and getting bloody and drove away. He said not to get lost, or else he would have to wait extra and he hates doing that!! My mom, sister and I got in the river and my mom could not get her bearing. My sister and I tried to help her and the current was so strong that we were ALL taken through a bed of rocks where we were bruised, cut and banged up. My mom nearly drowned clinging to a tree branch on the side of the river, where my sister saved her. I got caught up by the river and made most of the whole trip. There is NO supervision. You are left to float for 2 hours, with no checkpoints. There are bridges, banks, and forks where you can EASILY get taken by the current into very dangerous situations. This happened to me. The current was so strong it took me to the left of a fork, where I was slammed into a bed of tree branches. My tube flipped over and I was caught under the tube. I climbed to safety and was rescued by another PROFESSIONAL group of rafters. Thank God for them. My family and I reunited and we were picked up by a kid in the van from this company, who did not ask if we were okay but instead asked what happened to the tubes. My mom broke 3 toes. He immediately told us we went where we were not supposed to go and it was our fault, without asking if we were okay. He rode us back and explained that we signed forms saying we knew what we were getting into. We didn't' even complain... he was too concerned about the liability. When my sister called she was sold a different story. He said he never goes into that water without a suit on and a rapid water rescue team!!! Yet they let inexperienced tourists float down this thing. He also informed us we wouldn't have to pay for the tubes.... They kept saying we were the ones not paying attention and we were making the unsafe mistakes!!!! You have NO control in the water!!! Why would we try to make it more dangerous for ourselves???!! So upsetting and one of the worst experiences of my life. Thank God we are all okay!! read more

If you are a beginner rafter or someone just seeking a nice, calm weekend adventure. Do not take this trip.!! This is a very very unsafe adventure. The currents are faster than you might expect on a beginner trail. Expect to get bruised, sucked between rocks, water is deep at some places, especially places where you do get stuck and flip over. If you are on a big raft you should be fine. But crossing this river in a tube (which is pretty sturdy though), is still not for beginners. If you are expecting this to be a pretty nice calm run down the river you would be disappointed. There are no safety checkpoints, no one to help you if you are in an unsafe situation. My wife almost drowned between two rocks, the tube flipped over got stuck, she got stuck under it and could not pass through. The currents are very strong, even at places where the water is only upto your knees, the currents are strong. If you still decide to take this trip. - Take shoes, so that you don't hurt your feets -leave everything in you car and I mean everything. -Do not wear sunglasses, if you have to, make sure they are secure and would not be lost in case you flip over. - Do not take phones, cameras etc etc. - Just take a big raft with a group of 4-5 people, preferably experienced. It will be better and more enjoyable. - Tubing was a nightmare. read more

We wanted to go tubing and chose Barefoot Tubing over the others because of the hours, especially going on a Friday. We loved that a tube and life jacket were included in the cost. However, we felt that the cost was a little pricy especially when the company didn't offer any assistance getting into the tube and into the river at the drop in point. The website advertised assistance as needed, and my group could have used it. Love the shuttle and that we could pay and complete the waivers online. If you are an experienced tuber looking for an adrenalin rush, this is for you. If you are a family looking for a leisurely, relaxing float, this is NOT for you. Our group fell into the latter category so we were caught by surprise by the challenging currents. I witnessed two people, each from a different group, smash into large rocks early in their trip along the river. At the end, both had to be helped from the river, unable to walk or stand on their own, due to badly bruised foot or leg. If you decide to tackle this adventure, prepare to continually use your arms to paddle the tube away from danger or the river banks. Prepare to pull in your legs and arms to allow the tube, rather than you, to inevitably collide with rocks. At the end, your towels will not be waiting for you. Instead, you will wait up to 15 minutes for a driver to shuttle you five minutes back to your car before you can retrieve your towels and dry clothes. The employees we encountered did their best to be helpful. They are not responsible for the river. But you should be forewarned there is definitely risk involved with this adventure. Some will enjoy this, but this is not for everyone. Proceed with caution. read more

I had a great time. This was an awesome experience and I'm glad I did it. Now, as far as rivers go this is very tame and easy going. That being said, all rivers get a little rapidy and this was no exception. You may tip over and you may get some scratches but this is a river activity so that should be expected. Since it's Utah they don't really give you much warning and kinda just let you go on your own. I don't think any elderly or non athletic people should do this. read more

I've floated the Weber about 5 times now. Trying to go with my personal tube was a big mistake.. It wasn't strong enough for the Rapids. Barefoots tubes are perfect and sturdy. I understand it's intimating for the first timer but I've only had a great experience with barefoot. Follow their instructions, be smart and be prepared for a little action. MOST of our group had a good time. 6 of us (ranging from 12-75 years of age) had to call for help when we reached just 1/2 hour into the river experience and had enough! 2 had lost their tubes in the rushing water. Barefoot Tubing quickly came to get us and were very supportive and kind. They gave my husband first aid for the cuts and scrapes down his leg. I broke my toe and have bruises all down my legs and feet. Lost my water shoes. No toenail polish left on my feet! This is NOT for anyone under 14 or so, or older than about 60. I'm in my 50's and truly thought I was going to drown. "Rock Alley" is full of hidden large rocks that tipped me over numerous times. However, the other 10 people in our group had a GREAT time! I'd just say that you should not expect a "lazy river" type of experience. Don't bring or wear anything you aren't willing to lose to the water. The people running the experience were GREAT. Feels like this place keeps getting worse. The floating down the river is fine. The customer service is the pits. There is a woman there with the worst attitude. She yells at the customers and staff often. I have been three times this year and she is always in a bad mood. She often tells customers she hates people. Not sure why she still works there. The wait times for pick are a joke. The first time we waited for 20minutes. The second time was 45 minutes and the third time (yesterday) was over an hour. Really like the river float. My friends and I have tubed the Weber river, using Barefoot, several times. It's always been a good experience. Barefoot has met every obligation it said it was going to. That said, this is an open body of water and not always forgiving. Know your limitations. If you bring children, make sure there is at least one adult per kid. Wear water shoes. Leave your phone in the car--even with a water case. As rivers go, it's pretty tame, however, it's definitely not always a slow meandering Sunday stroll. There will be times you need to be prepared to paddle away from rocks, trees and other obstacles. Hope this helps! read more

Well we went tubing, and it was all good and fun until i saw a log and sling shotted my daughter so she would miss it and I got stuck on a log, and my husband came to help and we both got swept under, and as I was about to give up (thinking I can't believe this is how I'm going to die and it was my idea to do this crap) we both some how decided to go down because we just couldn't reach the surface no matter how hard we tried and miraculously we went under the log and finally made it to the surface, blue faced and all. We both barely escaped the grasp of death, and I'm not being a dramatic wuss, we really did. I guess that's what we get for underestimating Mother Nature. I think they should do a little better with providing education of currents and why to stay away from logs and rocks and what not--even though I'm experienced with rafting and kayaking, tubing is way different and way more dangerous. We are lucky we were able to go under the log!!! Right after we caught our breath my crazy husband went back to save another guy stuck in the same spot but in a different way, he had to yank him out and broke his toes! There were 3 people and a kid that went to the ER just at the time we got out of the water that day. Don't underestimate it and stay away from those pesky logs! That being said, the guy that was tied to the beverage cooler didn't fall out at all! ;) so everyone else in our group had a blast! I think I will stick to rafting and kayaking. read more

Staff was very friendly. On the website they clearly say you need shoes, that there's rocks and rapids. The website tells you the class of Rapids and what the class means. They also told me on the phone when I made the reservations again. Even before we left the parking lot they told us again that it wasn't a waterpark lazy river and gave everybody life vests and made sure they were on correctly. When we got out to the river they gave a safety briefing. Told us the safest place to be at the major points ie ( the first 100 yards stay to this side, or when you get to this bridge do this). There is an inherent risk to anything when Mother Nature is involved I'm not going to fault them for when I got stuck in some rocks and tipped over. Plus I'm pretty sure that waiver I signed but didn't read gave me more warnings. Regardless, excellent float for somebody that just doesn't want to go to a lazy river and understands they will have to paddle. Keep up the good work. read more

We've been tubing a few times on the Provo, and heard the Weber was even better, so we came out and went to Barefoot Tubing. The guys working the place were super friendly and even though they were busy on that day, we got onto the river without a problem. They gave a five minute speech just before starting that told us about tube safety, how the life vest works, and what to watch out for on the river, which was cool since we had never been there before. And the river was great, but JEEZ! People said there were way more rapids and there was way more action than Provo, but I didn't think they were that different; Weber's rapids were just a bit bigger. And I guess the scenery is better at Weber too. But anyway, we got dumped off the tube a couple times, but you have a life vest, and the guide who dropped us off told us to stay in the center of the river (after the first twenty minutes. For the first twenty, we got directions, like, "stay left here, watch out for the two rocks and go left again," or something) and we were fine, just laughing and having fun. It's a bit of a workout (they say, "get ready to paddle") but you're in the sun and on a river, what could be better? read more
