My husband's work requires him to wear FRC. I had heard about the Ariat FRC line and that Cavender's Boots carries them. It seemed common sense that Cavender's would have western wear; I mean, that's what they are known for but FRC's?! Knowing how hard it was to find comfortable work clothes for my husband, I brought him in. OMG, the selection of FRC and work clothes was crazy. Other places that carried FRCs bearly had half the selection. My husband chose two shirts. The price for the 2 was reasonable, being that Ariat is mainline of work clothing. The customer service was phenomenal from the moment we walked in the door. The knowledge of the department manager (the young man's name, who I can't remember) was spot on. He genuinely knew his Ariat product. I know my husband was sold. It looks like another place he can't be trusted to shop in alone. Lol. read more

Cavender's boot store is Awesome I really like the selection of clothing and boots. But as far as the customer service goes they really need to work on it at this location. I've been to other Cavender boots and I was offered help right away. I think these employees are too preoccupied with each other talking and Not focusing on the customers. I'll still do business with Cavender's but maybe another location. And they're really concerned about getting a good review.... read more

Lack of knowledgeable by cashier on product. Unable to do a simple exchange for same model different size. Kept insisting it was more and couldn't identify it was the same boot bought on holidays as a gift and wrong size. Prefer to continue doing business with the fairmont location. If I could give a zero I would. Went to get my had cleaned and shaped. the girl was so rude wouldn't clean it and did a half ass job of shaping and handed it and said hope it's good enough I don't have any more time to give and went to the next person. she also ruined my hat on the underside by rubbing all the felt off. wouldn't recommend using them at all. After that I went to shop around and the mens section was so nice but the womens section they all were so rude to me. read more

I've had really great experience with their customer service. I bought my first cowboy boots here, and about three weeks later the heel started to split from the boot and make a squeaking noise when I walk. This wasn't Cavender's fault, they could have pointed me to the nearest cobbler and said good luck but the guy I bought the boots from remembered me from 3 weeks earlier and he swapped them out on the spot. Really great people working here, I'll definitely be going again next time I get boots. Update: interestingly the replacement boot may have the same problem, there's a crack on the right boot heel which looks suspiciously like it might expand with wear. I spoke to a shoe repair shop and I don't think I'll return this pair, I'll probably just have it fixed when it starts squeaking/cracks really badly, however my previous point stands. They have great customer service, just maybe don't buy the lucchese's. read more

I admit, I'm not a cowboy.cowgirl kinda person. I mean, I like cowboys, and I like horses, but I don't wear a cowboy hat or boots or any of those accoutrements. Nothing against those that do, but just not my style. When my friends from the Netherlands were in town, they mentioned they wanted a real cowboy hat from Texas. So this was the first place that came to mind that was close, and on the way home from the airport. When we stepped in the door, excited to show my friends the cool Texas cowboy stuff, all we got was a weird look by the girl at the cash wrap. Yeah, we weren't dressed like cowboy type people, but neither were we dressed badly. Don't judge lady. We're here to spend money. We did have fun wandering around looking at all the cool stuff; plus as much as I hate to admit it, all the leather in there smells heavenly. Sorry cows. My friend did find a cowboy hat and he looked good in it, but I still hate that the personnel weren't very helpful or friendly so I doubt we will come back here, as they don't have a very friendly Texan attitude! read more

I don't know much about cowboy boots but I do know about customer service. Everyone at this location was so friendly and helpful. Dawn was AMAZING! I watched her attend to about five or six guests all at the same time. None of us felt slighted. I don't know why initially she was the only one on the floor but she handled herself well. I was wanting some new pair of cowboy boot for years. I have been searching all over the greater Portland, OR area but, without any luck. I then decided to wait until I was on Christmas break to look for some boot in my home town of Houston, TX. Vanessa at Cavender's Boot City off the Gulf Freeway was very helpful and patiently went through some options for me including the boots that were very comfortable to wear all day.
