Typical outlet that has what I know understand as as SOP (standard operating procedure) to have retail stores withing the grouping with regular pricing. Odd thig was that we went on a Saturday at 3 p.m. and ot seemed as if it was a Tuesday an hour before closing, nobody was there. You could have shot a zombie movie. For the most part prices were food for the really obscure collections of shoes & clothes that I would never think to be made and like I mentioned the regular priced (GAP, Stucture, Old Navy) stores. read more

Good outlet, but have a plan. If you know what you are looking for you will be better off. Join a store's loyalty program before going in and you will get a better deal. Limited food options but will get you through. It will not be as cheap however as you may expect. You will really have to look for a "great deal". Loft and Hilfiger had the best deals. Don't be tempted by the circus tent show in the parking lot. This show was definitely not worth the money. We went on 12/3 and the food was a disaster and show not good quality. This is about the GAP store there. I originally ordered the jacket I wanted online and shipped to me but realized I can get it sooner if I picked it up. Well, within 2 hours it was ready to pick up so I drive down there and pick it up. As I'm walking out, I take the jacket out the bag and see that there are scratch marks on it that cannot be removed. I am questioning why was this product 'okay' to be selected? I go back to exchange and they do not have the size I need and it would take the same time to get it in store as it would be if I got it shipped to my home. First time coming here. It's literally a somewhat large open mall. Surprisingly, it's not a cheap as you would think. You shouldn't even call an Outlet. It should just be called a mall because of these prices are normal prices lol. The parking lot is huge. Most of the staff that we've encountered are friendly. read more

This is a charming little outdoor outlet mall located right next to Highway 45, between Houston and Galveston in Texas City. Current construction on Highway 45 makes it a little tricky, but follow the signs and you should be ok. I don't live near this outlet mall, but if I did and shopped here on the regular, I would download the Tanger Outlet app, as shown on the sign at the entrances. Who wouldn't want extra coupons or incentives? Handy directories are hanging outside all over the mall, which definitely helps in navigating your way around or to find a specific store. read more

As outlets go, this location has your staples: Banana Republic, Nike, Adidas, CK and Coach, etc. I have lived in the southern part of the Houston area for several years now and this has become the go-to outlet for the fam/friends. There is major construction on the freeway leading to the entrance - unfortunately, this construction has been going on for years now. In addition to this mall being not easy to get in to, it can be a drag to get aw0ay from when it's time to leave. I bought three pairs of jeans, five days later I realized that they haven't removed the security tags. Unfortunately, I am 40 miles away from that location. I did call and I was told to go to a different location. Unfortunately, the other locations have a different security tag and they were unable to remove it. My only option is to drive all the way back to the Texas City location and have them remove the tag. That's not happening tried contacting district manager. They won't give out the phone number try contacting corporate office. They don't even speak to you. So now my only option that may be possible is to return them to a closer location since they can't take the tags off. The store I contacted in my area says it happens all the time they're always getting items from the Texas City location because they always forget to take the security tags off. If Jesus shopped here, it'd be the Manger Outlets. If Walker shopped here, it'd be the Texas Ranger Outlets. And if creepy child abducting creeps shopped here, it'd be the Stranger Danger Outlets. I've decded to give them five even though the food options are meh and that's being generous. I come all the way down here for all my clothes because they're so much cheaper in these stores, and there are usually fantastic Athletics deals at Under Armour and Puma and other stores like that. Plus some cool little independent stores that are great. Barbie loves Claire's too, and Rue 21. The Tanger of shopping here is that even though everything is at Outlet prices, you'll spend too much. The other Tanger is getting heatstroke because it's outside and it gets very hot indeed in these parts. I've reconsidered and even though some of the employees in some of these stores are not too friendly and even though they don't always have everything that you want - just the fact that this outlet mall is so easy to get into and so quiet and so out of the way and it feels like our own little discovery and we love coming down here and it's close to the best bubble tea shop in the country when you combine all these things together then I have to give it 5 stars for sure and was that a long sentence or what... that's what OJ didn't say. And I get all my jeans down here. But not my genes, or I'd have a drawl, y'all. They're always so quiet - it makes me sad. I don't know how they all stay in business but I'm really glad that they do! Last week I popped into Perfumania in hopes of finding my all time favorite perfume the original Vera Wang. Unfortunately it's no longer available. So I asked Brittanie knowing that fragrance could she suggest a few fragrances that she thought I would like. Now mind you I came in the store about 20 min till they closed. Ms. Brittanie took her time and was so knowledgeable, that after smelling over 10 different fragrances I narrowed my selection down to Tuberose Overdose and Capri Vince Camuto. I asked if I could spray both on my skin in order to know how they worked with my body chemistry. Since I'm not an impulsive buyer, I told her if I liked them once I got home, I would come back and buy them from her. I loved both fragrances and was hoping that she was working today, but her team member who is also named Brittany helped me today. However I made sure she knew how much I appreciated Brittanie for going above and beyond for me. It's rare now a days to find people who just have it and love what they do. Not bad for an outlet location and plenty of parking spaces. The heat can be a real killer and the stores blast their AC just enough so that their customers can shop more enjoyably. Some of their stores are not much different from full priced retail stores which is disappointing. Other stores, offer great deals such as half off clearance! It's really a hit or miss but more importantly, there are several stores to take advantage from! The restrooms were in sanitary condition and food court immaculate. The only complaint is that there are only two choices inside the food court, cheesesteaks or deli sandwiches...more options would be a nice and welcome addition. read more

The heat was killin' me, it's no way I could stay out there and shop for a long period of time. Very large outlet mall with all kinds of name brand stores. I managed to step into Rue 21 for the first time today and I see why today was my first time because most of their clothing are wallet burning expensive. Jeans are $30+ and that's even on the clearance rack. I also visited Gap for the first time and they were the much more expensive, cute dresses were $24. Geez, that is a big ouch in my wallet. Tank tops were $7 whoa that is way too much. Don't get me wrong I do like to wear good nice cute looking clothing, but at the same time I don't like to spend an arm, leg, or a finger on my clothing either. If I did that I would be a vegetable. Auntie's Pretzel shop aroma was calling my name. The temptation was so thick, I almost spent my good hard earned money on that snack food, but thank goodness I didn't. The whole outlet seemed shaded, but the heat was still whipping my butt. I just couldn't stand it. It would be nice if they could water their dying plants. To keep the landscape going the plants are all wilting, they need water too!! Great concept for an outlet in that area of town, but come on does it have to be that pricey??!!! read more

My favorite of all the Houston area outlet malls. We always stop here on our way to Galveston and the Buccee's right next door. Plenty of GREAT DEALS to be had, wide variety of stores for shopping for everyone in the family. I also always have the best customer service when I go into these stores. Highly recommend! I come here for one reason and one reason alone: Lids. Though said Lids is intended to be an outlet shop, it still carries the latest in New Era hats. If there's a new Texans or Rockets hat that I see online and covet, 9/10 this Lids has it. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. Location-wise, Tanger is a godsend for those of us who don't feel like getting stuck in the bottleneck of 45 just past League City in order to go to Baybrook. I happen to live a mere five minutes away so hooray for convenience. The food court doesn't offer much, but whatever it has is good, especially Charley's Philly Steaks. Decent outlet store. As far as men's clothing, it has most of the major players you want except for H&M and JCrew. I like coming here when I have some free time to look for great deals. Nike factory store here has a decent supply of sneakers in stock at good prices. This outlet lacks some other sneaker stores like Footlocker and Champs, and the food court could be better. I came out for the Labor Day specials, hands down Lululemon took it away with their "power hour" 6 items $99 or less each for $250. The associates were great from explaining the different materials, saving my dressing room and the great conversation from the cashier who isn't only attractive but plays hockey! They had a great selection from day-to-day wear to athletic gear. Then I went to Nike. That was a mad house, not too many sales, but I have to hand it to the associates, they were helpful even amidst the crazy shoppers. The check-out line was lengthy, but an associate checked me out with a portable scanner that took card. Then I went to Kate Spade, I didn't expect to find a laptop sleeve but I did and it's a gorgeous color pink, with a pair of studs for good measure that were only $12. I couldn't pass it up. Banana Republic was probably the worst in terms of people, organization and lines for the dressing room and the cashiers. The lay out of the store complicates it more and isn't the best equipped for the volume of people. All-in-all, a good place to shop, but not the best deals. read more

Started my early school shopping since I heard about 70 percent off of everything. Children place had the best sale! $2.50 for boy graphic tee's and $7 for pants and shorts. Seriously? Best outlet mall ever. We woke up early on a Saturday thinking we would beat the weekend shoppers and score ourselves a good parking spot. Turns out, we didn't even need to rush. It was so un-crowded that it kind of felt like a ghost town. I really enjoyed how they had four or five quarter rides for the kiddos to enjoy including a carousel, bull, horse and a pretend four-wheeler. I probably spent close to 25$ here. (I am a really manipulated aunt). There is lots of seating and I noticed that the prices in most of these stores are comparably lower than the originals. There were TONS of clearance items at Old Navy. I got my nieces two new outfits, four pair of shoes, a belt for the husband, shirt for me and candy for 60$. Now the absolute best part about this place was the Disney Store. I'm a huge Disney nut so I kind of went crazy. (I need a frequent shopper card). There were THREE shelves of clearance items, including Disney brand clothing, IPhone covers, purses, dolls and collectible dishes and figurines! Plenty of parking, comfortable and plentiful seating and really great staff made this my new favorite shopping mall ever. read more

Shopping is a terrible thing to waste! Went on a Sunday with my girls and it was a win situation. We figured they'd have some sales going on with Black Friday around the corner and sure enough they did. There was a promotion online for 25% off coupons at select stores so we signed up on their website and picked the coupons up at the info desk - WIN. There is a good selection of stores - it's not as big as the one in San Marcos but big enough to get some shopping done. There is an assortment of stores - Coach, Michael Kors, NY and Co, Nine West, Perry Ellis, Polo, Levis, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Gap, Old Navy, Disney Store, Children's Place, Carters, Puma, Nike, Reebok, Columbia, Journeys...and the list goes on. I found some great gifts at a selection of stores @ 50-70% off plus the 25% off coupon. My two best buys of the day were at the Calvin Klein store and the Coach store. Found a nifty top that retailed at $45 for $9 :) and walked away paying $122 for a $400 Coach purse - store promo 50% off purse plus that day a 30% off coupon with an additional 10%! It wasn't too crowded and there were plenty of seats everywhere - including some cute little rocking chairs. So if you needed a break, you could get one. Comparisons with other nearby outlet stores (aka Katy Mills and Premium Outlets near Cypress). 1. Selection: This place is significantly smaller than Katy Mills and Premium Outlets. They have fewer stores, so keep that in mind if you're looking to shop the day away and get the most bang for your buck in terms of locations to hit up. 2. Customers: THIS IS THE REASON I COME HERE. There are literally no people. My rankings in terms of customer density goes Premium Outlets, Katy Mills, Tanger Outlets. 3. Deals: Because there are no people that shop here, it is easier to find better deals than Katy and Premium. Especially in the usual high frequency stores (e.g. Coach). SUMMARY Come here if you wake up late and are looking to do some real buying and bargain hunting. If you wake up early and are looking for a more broad experience, go to Premium Outlets or Katy Mills. read more

Depending on which store you visit, you can really get some good deals. We personally found good deals at the Black and White store and the Nike store (in the sales section). I was really excited when Tanger opened an outlet location in Texas City. We always went to the outlets when we were close to San Marcos, TX. They have good stores including Polo, Banana Republic, Tommy Bahama (my favorite), Under Armour, Nike, Columbia, Gap, Old Navy, Coach etc. I know I can't (and won't) try to name all of the stores at this location. Like most outlets, sometimes the prices are better and sometimes they are not. You have to be a smart shopper to know if you are truly getting a better deal. Take exit 19 when traveling down I-45 Gulf Freeway. Oh, and stop at Buc-ees next door when you are going "Tangering." If you've never been to a Buc-ees, you need to stop. This Tanger Outlets location is awesome! I stopped at the Tanger Outlets location in Louisiana between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and that one has a weird triangle layout that is spread out and doesn't seem to have as many stores as this location. This layout is so much nicer and seems to have so many more stores than the Louisiana location. The parking is really spread out, so you have to drive around a while to get near your preferred store. After parking, I found walking through the outlets very enjoyable. They have lots of seats outside. Some of the seats have shade. The shade doesn't really help beat the humid heat though. They have some areas with rides for kids. The food court is very nice with lots of tables inside and outside. But the quality of the food is terrible. The food court only has 3 food vendors: a cheese steak shop, a wraps shop, and an Italian food shop. The only one with a vegetarian option was the wraps shop, and they only had one. If you want a cold treat, there's an Italian ice stand outside; it's cash only. They have free wifi around the outlets. In some areas it can be pretty slow and sketchy. If you really need a good wifi signal, then you can go near the Starbucks or inside the food court and use the Starbucks wifi. For the Tanger wifi, you just enter your email in your browser and you can browse all you want. The bathrooms were really nice. They have map brochures all over the place so you can look up where you want to go. I like how many athletic apparel stores they have, and I think I visited all of them. You can look up what coupons the stores have by visiting the Tanger Outlets website. You can also pick up one of the Tanger coupon books for $5 at one of their vending machines. It has a list of which stores have coupons in the book on the vending machine. This is a cute outlet! I will definitely go back! read more
