Randy from this location is so rude! Tried to find a specific size and he was extremely demeaning and had an attitude. When I asked if he had a size, I waited for him to be ready to type in the style number, but instead he says "we have over a hundred pair of jeans so how do you expect me to find them". Appalled I told him I already had the style number when he was ready. When I was reading off the number he told me "give me phonetics so I can actually understand you". He then proceeds to search for the jeans and comes back, and says "looks you're out of luck because two store say they have one and they aren't close or probably done inventory" I have worked and still work in customer service. This is my first time in Texas and I made it a point to purchase a Cowboy Hat. I'm from Hawaii so I didn't know what to look for. Steve, grabbed a hat off the shelf and handed it to me and to my surprise, it fit like a glove and it looked good on my noggin. I mentioned that I also needed a sport coat and he grabbed one off the rack and to my surprise, it fit perfectly! Minus the length of the sleeves that needed to be hemmed. Terrible customer service at the hat counter. Sunday- November 7th. Waited forever. 1 person in front of me who I believe was getting "several" hats reshaped and formed! I felt I was very patient, but also felt that I was a problem and should just go away. Purchased a $260.00 Stetson Cowboy hat. Went in there maybe 5 customers. Walked around no one asked us if we needed help. Wanted to buy a new hat and the Mrs. Wanted her first pair of boots. Now I understand why there was no cars in the parking lot...old out dates poor service. Going to the one in Plano as I used to shop there all the time. I'll start by saying I love Cavendar's and I always love coming to the after holiday clearance sale. It's kind of a family tradition. This year I brought my visiting sister-in-law because we were both looking for something fun for New Years at Billy Bob's. I'm was so disappointed in the service this time! Lisette checked us out and she was very nice, but she forgot to ring up one of my shirts. She called a manager over (I believe her name was Lauren) and dang she should NOT be in retail. Immediately she told me two of my items were not on the right rack for the BOGO sale and that she would let the one I had already been charged for slide but not the one that was forgotten. I was like "uhh ok". I never asked for the deal and immediately she acted like I was trying to put something over on her. I didn't ring up the other shirt wrong and I didn't forget to ring up this one. Train your people better then Ms Manager and change your freakin attitude to your customers. Oh wow. I have never owned a pair of cowboy boots in my entire 42 years. While visiting one of my close childhood friends (who has been a cowgirl since birth) she decided to take me boot shopping. Never in my life did I think that I would buy a pair of cowboy boots but I am so glad that I did. These boots are amazing and the service we got from the salesman there was superb. He helped the three of us find many different boots to try on and even checked the back for extra sizes. He really knew his stuff when it came to each pair. My other friend who was with us lives in Seattle and he was able to steer her in the right direction to find boots that were going to be better for very rainy areas. They were friendly and had a great selection of boots and clothing. For now I will just stick with the boots. read more

Lewisville location - GM Julie Hamlin refused to help without giving a condescending and rude attitude. In the last year I have bought six hats multiple for summer multiple for winter and three pairs of boots... I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CAVENDERS AGAIN!!!! I will give all my business to BOOT BARN and JUSTINS. Issue with Christmas order. Had issues with customer service then went to local store to look for stock to buy. After the GM was rude (I asked for her managers info and she told me she was the manager and then I asked for the GM info and she said she was the GM so at this point I don't know if she was lying or telling the truth. I asked multiple times for her managers contact info or an email that I could submit a complaint and she refused to give me any information and told me that customer service had taken my complaint. My complaint was actually about her and I asked specifically for an email to be given so that I could make a complaint and again she refused she refused six times I asked her. As I was in a public space I recorded the entire conversation. I have asked for someone higher to get in contact with me about the situation and I will post reviews day and night everywhere I can on every social media platform for the store and including yelp and Google reviews constantly until someone gets in contact with me. I think google maps has the location a bit off since this place is on the right side of the access road going North, anyhow. I always find what I am looking for at this place. My first experience of looking for a pair of Ropers was not easy. I tried several boot places but could not find the right pair. I tried Cavender's and immediately upon walking in I knew I was walking out with my RoPeRs. Sure enough I did, black of course to go with everything. The selection and pricing is great and the quality of the pair of Justin boots I got is awesome. I did try to find a pair @ Sheplers Western Wear but I was not asked once if I needed help with anything. Of course the associates were all over the ladies trying to help them out. Tag teaming too. I bought a pair of their Ariat boots and wasn't satisfied with the way the boots felt because they hurt my feet. And looking at their receipt it says nothing on their return policy. So I went to the store to return them and hopefully get my money back and instead I was told that they can't take a return under any circumstances and all I could do was exchange them for the same pair. I find that to be very shitty service by the way I was treated and talked to and not stating it on their receipt. I know of many companies that will take a return (within a week mind you) and give you a full refund. read more

My boyfriend gets his work clothes and boots from here, so I typically go by obligation. I definitely wouldn't go for leisure. The staff is horrible, rude, pretentious, and condescending. My boyfriend and I walk in to see a bunch of teenagers standing at the registers talking, we get greeted and that's about all I can say for their customer service, considering we never get assistance. They watch us walk around the store, wander around the boot section, and never ask how we're doing or if we need help - not to mention, the store is typically dead when we go and we STILL don't get service. On another note, I don't look "country" by any means, so I can only assume that is why we don't receive help. I have seen them follow around people who "dress the part" offering help, so I guess they were trained only to assist those who look "western" or those who look like they will spend money. My granddaughter and I went to Cavenders in Lewisville last Wednesday to purchase a pair of boots for her. When we pulled up there was only one other car in the parking lot. We walked in and noticed one women behind the desk and another women employee talking to her. We walked over to the boot section hoping to see someone that could help us. No other employee was in sight. I walked back to the checkout desk to see if one of these women could help. The women behind the desk said she would call someone to help. I went back to the boot area to wait and a young man walked up. I told him we were looking for a pair of boots for my granddaughter. He directed us to the kids boot section and said this is where I would find them. He commented that the cheaper boots could be found here and the more expensive boots on the back wall. I asked to see if they had a type of sizing chart that would help. He said no. He then walked away. We finally found a pair she liked in the women's area. Took them to the desk and checked out. Had she not needed them the next day we would have left without them and gone to another store but time did not allow us to do that. I can tell you we will NOT be going back to this store. Don't know how they keep their doors open with this lack of enthusiasm or customer service. read more

I received a giftcard to Cavender's for Christmas. I had wanted a new pair of boots, so I was looking forward to going back to where my dad bought me my first pair and I had bought many over the years. Though I am not country by any means, I told my family what a nice place it was and dragged them along with me. We went inside and headed towards the boot area. Though the store had many employees standing around, and older gentleman was flying solo.. trying to get to all the people who needed new boots. I snagged him mid run and I asked about sizing and he held two fingers apart about half an inch.. Okee dokee. And then he was gone.. again.. I tried on a few different sizes and found ones that felt good one my feet.. then we dug through the boots to find the look I wanted. I chased the older gentleman around and told him that these were what I wanted.. and then told him I wanted to look at hats.. he took the boots and nodded.. and took off in another direction. I went to the hats and couldnt find one my size. I wanted to ask about special ordering my size (I had requested information on their website twice about this to no avail. Though there were many employees, no one was manning this area. We tried to get the attention of some employees, but no luck there. After about twenty minutes of letting the girls try on hats, we gave up. I went up to pay for my boots.. and asked the older gentleman about ordering a hat. He pointed in a general direction towards some employees and told me that, "I needed to talk to that guy.. he is a hat expert." as he stuffed his nae into my pair of boots. Pass. Time to check out.. After getting passed around a few times to different cashier stations, I finally got to one to pay for it.. was told the price and did I want a bag or box.. No "Hello!" No "Thank You!" No "Quit looking at me, jerkass!" Nothing... I was really disappointed with them. They used to have excellent service and it has gone downhill in a serious way. read more

And you can't even shop because every 2 minutes an employee walks up and annoys you and watches you like your a thief or something. Then when you actually want help no one's around. And i don't understand why there was 4 ladies at one register checking me out while one more was examining my boots inside and out? I guess that any one of their employees isn't smart enough to work solo. And not to mention the prices are borderline ridiculous. 65 dollars for the EXACT same pair of wranglers i can buy for 29 dollars or less almost anywhere else? WILL NEVER BE BACK. What a shame.
