I seriously love this place. I haven't visited any other locations (yet) but I appreciate the people who sell their clothes here bc I can always find so many cute outfits that are great quality. Also the girls who work here are so nice! I've never felt like I am an inconvenience.. they're very helpful and have great attitudes. I won a drawing a couple months back, too! I had forgotten that I entered into the drawing but got a call that I got $10 store credit. Last but not least.... The clothes are clean and either smell neutral or have a fresh fragrance. I asked the lady ringing up my purchase if there was a place I could see the items as they were rung up. She said no. I paid for my purchase and noticed once I was given the receipt that one of the items was not 60%. I told her I didn't want them. If I had been able to view things as they were rung up, this wouldn't have happened. She then tells me that she can only give me a store credit. I just paid for them, I said. She said there was nothing that she could do. We bought a lot of items. Then she tells me that they are a no-bag store. So we had to manage carrying all of our items out to the car. I know none of these things are her fault. This is how the store has set itself up. This was not good customer service, as basically, I was told tough cookies. I've been to this Uptown Cheapskate multiple times and I thought they had an okay selection. They have a lot of options but most of the items looked very similar. I hoped that they offered a variety of designs. The value was good since all the items are in good condition; they carry a lot of branded items for a huge discount. I want to start by saying the staff is always very kind and helpful! However on several occasions I have brought good quality and style items into the store and they have not been accepted. Some items even still had their original sales tags. When asking about the criteria I often receive a politely vague answer. While I understand the volume of sales can impact what items are in demand, it is frustrating to have a similar experience over several years. Again this is not an issue with staffing or anything of that sort as they are very upbeat employees, but it leaves a sour taste having zero items bought from a giant box. read more

Cheapskate is right. I sold 9 items here on Saturday and got offered $24 for it, including 2 cute to NWT Express Tops, and 2 pairs of jeans (one of which had never been worn). I understand that the option is there to take back your items, but Plato's Closet gave me $32 for 7 items that same day from a one bag with different items, which proves that you can get more with that store instead. I went to Uptown to sell a couple of pairs of shoes. The shoes I was selling were a pair of Jordans. The one pair came with the original box with tags and never worn. I was offered $30. At which point I had to bite my lip, laugh,and turn down that offer. I know that they sell for $175 on Ebay and other online stores. The second pair of shoes they would not buy because they can't sell size 14 shoes, which is totally understandable. If you're looking into selling new items, I would skip this place and sell online. Know what you have and don't cave on the cheapskate prices (pun intended). The employee was totally nice and understood why I turned down the offer. The girls behind the counter made me wait for over 50 minutes. We came by to get my clothes they said they called my name a while ago, but they saw me standing there 5 feet away? Not sure why didn't they just call my name again or talk to me. Finally, when I was given an offer they rejected my clothes due to "style and conditioning". I don't have proof and maybe I'm reaching. I feel like because I was black my clothes were rejected. They were Jordan basketball shirts and chuck Taylor shoes. Bc its a dropoff. I called corporate on friday, 2 stores, they give u the run around and coukd care less. I've sold clothes here a couple of times. The staff is always nice, the racks look neat, and are efficient about sorting through the clothes I'm selling. This past time I brought in formal dresses, unfortunately they don't take formal dresses, but one of the staff was kind enough to suggest to me a store that does buy them. Of course the clothes selection is based on what's trending and what comes in the doors, but they do have cute things if you look. The clothes are also better quality than goodwill or other thrift stores usually. read more

Business is very unorganized associates are very young and complaining about everything, I felt the products that I brought in would bring more money than they did. I know I brought in namebrand, but the girl that was check me in was obsessed,taking her break and was upset that she could not be in the back room, eating her leftovers,. I think if she really looked at the items that I brought in It would've been different. I guarantee you the things that they would not pay for and said they were going to donate will be on the racks in the shop. On another note Associates just standing around complaining about working. They make it really easy to sell clothes! Just walk in, enter your info on the check-in tablet, show the cashier your ID and drop off your bags. They'll text you as soon as your items are evaulated and let you know what they're willing to buy. If you agree you'll get paid in cash. If you elect for store credit they'll give you 25% more. Uptown Cheapskate sells both men's and women's clothing and I found that they seem to be interested in acquiring denim, purses, jeans, athletic wear, t-shirts, button down and other common name brand casual wear as those are likely the easiest to resell. read more

This store is in the middle of a strip mall right behind/adjacent to Harbor Freights new store in Lewisville. It is very well organized by style and size. It is clean and has nice, big dressing rooms to try on designer clothing before purchasing the items. Nice mix of casual, stylish clothes with many designer labels. The team working here is very helpful and friendly. This store also buys high end, gently used clothing from customers provided that they bring them inside a basket or bag to keep them together. The people who run the buy desk at this location act like they run an ICU unit. Theres really no need to be rude and miserable when you are just going through clothes. It's uptown cheapskate in Lewisville, Tx. It's really not that serious. One of the girls acts like a cop on an absolute power trip, she wouldn't let me go out to my car to quickly grab my charger while they were doing my buy, because leaving the store is against their policy. She had to give me her permission to go next door to use the restroom. It was very obvious that there is also some discordance amongst other coworkers due to the girl's policing, just weird behavior. I totally understand their policy but the girls at this location specifically, need to touch grass. (Its even more cringe when this location does not have anything cute or fashionable for sale, lol just a bunch of outlet mall stockpile rejects that they resell for basic high school kids in neighboring suburbs) read more

Very clean store, the items are well displayed, and the prices are good. The store was also offering discounts on select items when I visited in January. The collection is geared more toward people who fit into S Size clothing or M sizes and is definitely for a younger crowd. Some of the clothing looked too used to be on the racks. I definitely liked their jewelry collection more than the clothes. The bags looked good too. read more

I'm disgusted- this was a total waste of my time. The clothes are okayish and the price points are not too bad but the quality of their service is unbelievably poor. I'm not sure if it's because it's a Saturday but I refuse .... absolutely refuse to be standing in line and have their staff selectively pull people out of line to help them. I was third in line... there was a 4th person in line and this associate went to the 5th person ( who happened to be white) - incidentally , all 4 of us were varying shades of brown- and told her she'd d ring her up. There is NO excuse for this and nothing justifies this behavior. If there was a reason to jump to #5 in line then let the others know . I'm sure it was unintentional ( I'm being generous) but the optics are awful. I will not shop here again and suggest you don't either. myself, my daughter, my sister, my niece, and my other sister all came into uptown on a Saturday, which we LOVE shopping here. This past weekend changed that. I walked up and asked if the two minors (12 and 13 for the fake bot accounts that try to combat the truth) could go into together while i went in with my minor 8 year old daughter into a dressing room and before I could even ask I was cut off saying "I'm not going to get FIRED for letting more than one person in." I asked again when did that policy change because I've been in your dressing room on dollar days with FOUR people in the large dressing room. I was shouted at the same sentence while another girl stated it changed in April. Well we were def FOUR PEOPLE in that dressing room as of late. So questioning it again because I have SEVERAL minors with me and i wanted to try some clothes on as well. She shouted and threw her keys on a cart beside us saying "'I'm not going to argue with you" and stormed off...the only two employees that remotely addressed my family with kindness after THEIR EMPLOYEE wrongfully was enraged for whatever reason was a young girl name Abby and a older lady with purple hair. The others were walking around snickering and making smart remarks to each other about us until we checked out. Called back today to speak with the manager Megan if that was her who knows because the professionalize here is shocking. She immediately cut me off after I asked if they had informed her of this incident that happened Saturday. Gave me the same attitude saying "I don't know what you want me to do, I was told you were in her face and after I reviewed the cameras I saw that my employee did nothing wrong" Which was a lie. I was no where near their employee. Either I wasn't talking to the actual manager or they have a serious customer service issue across the entire store. I have multiple witness's that were in the store and my family members that can attest that I was not irate or yelling at this employee. Unfortunately no one will ever hold these poor girls accountable for their out bursts or them be respectable adults while communicating with their customers while they are employed here but what I can tell you is that I will NEVER be returning to this store until it changes owners, I guess again.
