The parking lot was clean and had enough space for the other customers to not hit my car. The store itself is gearing up for the increase foot traffic from the Holiday Season. The aisles and areas were neat and clean with everything organized into a proper place. The associates there were friendly and very helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

I was here for a wedding and forgot the top I was going to wear with my skirt, in a panic I went to Kohl's and not just one, but TWO associates there helped me gather items and some new cheap jewelry that matched the new outfit I was going to wear. The store was clean and laid out like every other kohl's but I really appreciated these ladies going the extra mile. For customer service alone, they rock! Their selection of houseware goods seems to always have chipped and broken items. The employees are pompous. I have never had an easy return at this TJ Maxx. At my home TJ Maxx I have experienced such accommodating and polite employees. The manager at my home TJ Maxx always overrides a return within a 5-day grace period after the 30 days. I had been out of the country and unable to get back to TJ Maxx due to military reasons. With only 1 day past the 30 days, the manager would not make any exceptions and the cashier had a snide attitude, just repeatedly saying "that's policy" with no regard to my situation. Even within the 30-day period, with the receipt in hand, the cashiers at this particular TJ Maxx always cop an attitude about making a return. I needed to return an item with the security that was too large for me. The tag was not attached because they had it pinned to the item with the security tag. It was never attached. I was returning it because it was too large. Whilst I was wearing the same jacket that was the correct size, the cashier accused me of wearing the one too large, and therefore returning a used item. It had never been worn. I do not wear clothes that are too big for me. Also why would I want 2 of the same thing??? I will say the lady with the English accent has always been extraordinarily kind and helpful. She is the one cashier at this TJ Maxx that does not wreak havoc for returns or anything else.

Selection of fishing tackle was a little thin. There were 12 people in line behind me as well as three in front of me with one cashier. I offered to let six of the people behind me go in front of me because they just had one or two items. Finally, I got to the cashier. As the big, tall manager was walking away, the cashier asked him if he was gonna help, and he just scoffed and walked off and went to the back. Everyone of the employees in the store acted like they were all mad and had terrible attitude. Our family is in the people business in retail sales with 650 employees. We understand how it is with employees with an attitude. They don't work for us if they display this attitude. The customer is King. I will continue to go back to Academy and hopefully the experience will be better. As a follow up. The manager called me the next day. I was impressed that he did so. He invited me to come visit the store again.

You can buy a good shirt for a couple bucks. For someone with small feet like me, they don't have a lot in store in the shoe section. I had a thing for scarves in the beginning of winter and they had pretty decent ones that cost around $7. Not bad! Considering they sell them for $20 a piece at Kohl's. House items are abundant as well as stuff geared mostly for women. Unfortunately they only have 3 counters open on a busy Sunday (it sucks falling in a long line). I love checking out great styles for cheap so it's fun browsing here and picking up a couple things every once in a while.
