Tonya seemed nice at first but we quickly realized they did not have our best interest and was not well educated in the laws regarding their job and how to deal with tenants. They illegally raised our rent above the legal 10% per year because she said "they can raise it however much they want"- not true! When we confronted them, after some back and forth and us having to get a lawyer, they realized they made a mistake and had to lower the rate. Then they tried to illegally take as much of our security deposit when we moved out. After she did an inspection, Tonya said we should be getting all our deposit back. Our deposit was $1700 and they attempted to give back only $6!! After we left the place cleaner than we got it! We had pictures to prove it. They wanted to charge for things that were not agreed to in the lease. And we saw the forwarded conversations she had with the owner of the building (she did not intend to send to us), they were so unprofessional, talking about us and saying we were making such a big fuss about things, so they gave us $100 so we wouldn't make a big deal about it, saying we owed them money- not true!! We were great tenants- communicative, always paid rent on time, left things clean, nice, quiet. Unlike the squatters that lived upstairs for a year and the other squatters breaking into the other unit. We ended up getting our entire deposit back because Tonya forgot that they had to give our security deposit back to us within 21 days- their mistake, again!! They don't take accountability for their mistakes. Very unprofessional. It's so sad to see companies like this trying to take advantage of people. Know your rights as a tenant. They also never dealt with the cockroach issues and other issues in the building and moved a new tenant into one of the units that was being broken into regularly, without telling the new tenant! I think this company eventually left or got fired because we heard from a resident that they were no longer working for the owner shortly after we left. It was the worse experience we've ever had with a landlord/realty company.

I know who she used to work with and I know he's great so ok I wanna use her. I told her all about myself and my desires about selling the house, my hopes and my fears. I felt we were gonna be great. I have a learning disability that she was very aware of. She said she understood it and would be mindful... so I signed the seller agreement and it went DOWN HILL FAST! I found that she could not be impartial with my X husband and I. It became her way or the highway. She was rude and wouldn't even take phone calls because we weren't getting along. So she said all needed to be in email. (So I that's where my learning disability comes into play. I have dyslexia and dyscalculia meaning I don't track and process things clearly without some help.) Having to put everything into writing and trying to process any thoughts and feelings onto paper for every interaction lead to a LOT of miscommunication and misunderstanding...which lead to anger and frustration. In my opinion a realtor should have the skills to negotiate through a sale of a home and do it with a kind heart and a patient spirit. To me she lacked both. Her strategy was just to keep reducing the price of the house. She didn't seem to care about anything. I feel she did not have my best interest in mind.
