These were probably some of the best lunch fajitas I have ever had. First of all the meat was very tender and flavorful. I feel like so many Mexican restaurants use tougher cuts of meat that they try to tenderize. Here the beef was so tender, you could cut it with a fork. The onions and peppers were also cooked perfectly. I like how they were julienned small. They were perfectly chared and cooked until tender. The bite had left them but not so much they were mush. It was perfect. The rice and beans were great also. The chips and salsa at the beginning were ok but not great. Salsa was very thin and seemed like mostly tomatoes. The chips were tri-color so obviously come from a bag and they don't fry their own there. I think the tri color tends to get a bit stale compared to normal fried tortillas. It takes a lot for me to give out a five star because it means something very special! This place has by far the best guacamole chunky style I have ever had! I will go back for the flavor and presentation. The chips paired perfectly with it as well. I liked their salsa and it had a basic spice level. I tried their shrimp fajitas and the serving was impressive! The shrimp size was fantastic and you don't find that anywhere anymore! My waitress was timely and efficient. The kitchen is fast!! Over the past 5 years we kept returning less and less to this neighborhood spot for various reasons: service and food are hit or miss. Our previous experience ended up with a mild food poisoning and before that our take out was processed by an individual who couldn't care less about basic welcoming manners. Without high hopes, we stopped by today for the last time: we were finishing our meal when an overwhelming/ concentrated "flowery" chemical smell invaded our olfactory senses to the extent that it provoked an immediate gag sensation and burning our noses and throats. We decided to take the dessert (that was still to be served) to go. Went to let the waitress know and pay. I asked to speak to the manager, as well and informed her of inadequacy of using strong chemicals as I was paying for our meal. The "lady" manager became confrontational arguing that they are not using chemicals! Maybe she completely lost her sense of smell constantly exposed to said chemicals, but denying the obvious didn't change the fact. A business who hire and promote such people in management positions doesn't deserve patronage. Their health score is in the low 80s, as well, but they hide it in a place where it can only be seen when paying in the end of the meal. As much as we used to enjoy our weekly quick bite in this non corporate joint, the food and service quality went downhill to the extent of no return as we can still taste the chemicals we inhaled, with the added "bonus" of a creeping headache. Message to the owner: If you read this review, know that our waitress received her over 20% tips not because we left happy, but because her service was attentive and I didn't want her to take the fall for the lack of respect and decency we encountered from the manager you've entrusted to care for your patrons. read more

Decided to try this place as we normally go to Zamas. Overall, it's decent but Zamas has way better food hands down. The guacamole here - literally salted mashed avocado but I eat plain avocados on my salads so basically just an expensive avocado. $4.25 for small size Carne asada for $16.50 - somehow it's supposed to be a ribeye but it had to be skirt steak? Like a fatty skirt steak, super thin, huge chunk of fat in the middle but the steak was decent! Or they somehow pounded a ribeye to be 1/4 inch thick. Not too salty but definitely had flavor. They gave two large pieces so ok for the price & honestly, I'm still surprised it wasn't well done so A+ for that. Would prob try the pork carnitas next time instead. It also came with 2 flour tortillas, guac salad, rice and beans. It was a ton of food & I definitely didn't finish it. My husband got the combo 11 & they give you a ton of beef in the items. It came with a huge burrito, enchilada and taco. $11.25( I think) Skip the queso and guacamole though here. The queso is very watery and regular guac too bland. The Mexican guac might be better since it has pico and seasoning? The salsa is great as a table starter, though. The food came out super quick & server was quick with refills, requests. Their hot sauce is homemade & they also have Valentina but the Valentina might be the spicier of the two but the other was tasty. Very quiet on a Tuesday night, just us & 2 other tables. Zama had a 20 min wait at close to 9p on Saturday night so we decided to try Cazadores--a classic Mexican restaurant that's been serving up East Cobb boomers and their now adult kids for nearly 40 years. I'm bewildered by all the one star reviews by patrons outraged at how inauthentic this place is. I'm not sure what version of authentic these people were looking for but, once you walk in the door, you know exactly what you're getting: authentic Mexican-American, all the way. Any Mexican restaurant selling fajitas for two, combination plates and Texas margaritas is not south of the border authentic. Those of us Gen X and older will feel right at home as this is what Mexican food we always had growing up. No, this isn't a SoCal taco stand, nor is it trying to be. The staff is super friendly, the food is reliably good and the plates are all hot. I love everything about it! Keep doing what you're doing! Friend, With a heavy heart I type this review of one my beloved restaurants, which my family and I have frequented for over 25 years. The service and quality has always been outstanding - often exceeding our expectations. My opinion of this establishment changed last night, and the kind words end in this sentence. I stopped in last night to place a takeout order. After placing the order i looked over to the corner bar for a television and observed two patrons seated at the bar top eating a meal. One of the two appeared intoxicated, bearded and covered in tattoos. He turned around to ask me a question from across the room, and when my answer didn't satisfy his expectations, he became agitated and confrontational. Then he became angry and accused me of "eyeballing" him. This quickly escalated when he got up out of his seat, crossed the restaurant and invaded my personal space shouting and roaring. The situation was heading towards a violent confrontation, and being armed in a small restaurant with bystanders and employees observing from the sidelines, I chose the path of deescalation and walked out - hoping this crazy idiot didn't chose to follow and FAFO. I am not disappointed encountering drunk idiot. Fact is, idiots are everywhere. However I am disappointed the restaurant staff chose to do frick all nothing to intervene or appear to be the least bit concerned about the behavior of the deranged drunk threatening a customer in the establishment. In fact the staff acted like this was just a typical Thursday night. Myself nor my family will be returning due to the obvious lack of concern for the safety of the restaurant patrons. I would caution anyone encountering a wild man looking degenerate at this establishment to walk right back out, as I understand he is related to the owners (his words) and frequent patron. read more

This is a great Mexican restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and hilarious. We listened to his food suggestions and are so glad we did. The chicken soup is AMAZING! Huge pieces of perfectly cooked chicken, a good amount of avocado in a delicious broth. I had the fajita taco salad with grilled chicken, onions, peppers, sour cream and guacamole in a large tortilla bowl. It was large but very good. My husband really liked the steak taco but thought the carne asada was just average. The reason I took a star away was because the queso seemed to lack flavor and queso is usually what keeps me coming back to a Mexican restaurant. We tried Cazadores tonight after reading good reviews. We arrived around 6:30 on a Thursday night. It was actually quite busy. We were quickly seated in a booth and immediately offered chips, salsa and drink orders. The ambiance here is satisfactory for a classic Mexican resistant. Clean, well lit, and in an older strip mall. Appetizers were cheese dip and guacamole. The cheese dip was excellent with jalapeños. The guac was decent but did taste slightly premanufactured but was decent. Chips are tasty but kind of thick. I ordered the Enchiladas Tapatios which comes with four enchiladas, one cheese, beef, chicken, and one beans. With sour cream and lettuce, ranchero sauce. The enchiladas were massive, no skimping of meat or portions. Extremely delicious and hearty. My wife got the fajita tacos and gave them a 7 out of ten. Overall a solid traditional Mexican restaurant, that delivers exactly what we envision when we crave fajitas, enchiladas, and carne asada The price was very reasonable considering the enormity of the portions. . read more

Pretty much the only item I order from here any longer is the flan. It is made like my Cuban grandmother used to make it. With cream cheese. It's a dense, sweet, creamy forkful of heaven. There used to be a delicious appetizer that had shrimp, beef, and chicken in a white cream sauce that was served with chips. I can no longer find it here. But, that used to be filling and fantastic. Why, then, are they only getting three stars? Service. I called ahead to pick up an order. When I arrived, it was obvious they hadn't even lifted a finger to get it ready until I showed up. I heard him call the order in Spanish to the kitchen and then watched as he stood at the window waiting on it. Then he packed the order to go. To add insult to injury, he charged me $4.50 per flan instead of the $3.29 that was the cost on the delivery app for an order places just a week earlier. Serves me right to try and save a buck by picking up the order myself. Next time, I'm using the app and letting them pay the delivery commission. But, it really is the best flan in Metro Atlanta. I just had one of their hand made margarita's to wash down my Chile Poblano. Perfect blend of cheese and giant poblano pepper, a new favorite. I normally get the vegetarian enchiladas- stuffed with squash, zucchini and broccoli and topped with salsa verde. Now I have 2 meals I can't live without. FYI - if you ever have a craving for chicken chicken soup or have sick loved one. My friends swear by it. Tastes amazing and heals you quick. The cheese dip is addictive, beware! Good prices and generous servings. Hey, we all know the ATL is not known for its stellar Mexican food so we have to assess our options and pick from the best available - for me, I like certain dishes done the way I want them (check!), good drinks (yep!), friendly service and good prices (double yep!) . . . I went here based on Blake's 4 star rating and I am happy to report that Cazadores lived up to the expectations set forth by his review. This place is a pretty nice and comfortably small Mexican restaurant that everyone in Marietta should enjoy on a regular basis. They have a wide variety of Mexican dishes to choose from on their menu. For some reason I never want to venture out into the Mexican dishes that I am not familiar with. So I just ordered the typical two tacos with rice and beans combination. Cazadore's is well aware that there are many vegetarians in the world we live in today, and because of that fact they conveniently offer vegetarian dishes for those individuals who prefer to exclude delicious hunger satisfying meat products from their meal like Nikki : ) I thought about ordering some of the Chili cheese dip, but I decided that I did not want to risk spending the rest of my night enduring physically traumatic stomach pains. Instead I decided to be typical once again and order the regular Mexican cheese dip, which was everything I dreamed it might be. When it was all said and done, or all eaten and done rather, Cazadores instantly became one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, right behind the Pappasito's Cantina , who actually specializes in Tex-Mex, but I don't think I will ever understand why or how there is a difference. read more

This ones a winner! I went here last week and it was so good I had to come back tonight. You come into an old shopping center and you don't see much - a Mexican restaurant hidden behind a gas station and a dunkin donuts. Going in, someone tells you to seat yourself wherever like, and then a friendly chip girl brings some chips and salsa. Now, I'm a tough salsa critic but I can say that this one has passed the test: it actually has flavor unlike some watery salsas I've had at moe's and chipotle. The first time I came here I ordered the lunch fajitas. Decent enough portion for me to eat half of and take home for tomorrow's lunch. And yesterday when I returned, I ordered the tacos al pastor. The pastor meat was excellently spiced, and the pineapple was a great compliment to the tacos. I also ordered the cheese dip and a guacamole as appetizers. Both very fairly priced, and the cheese dip was sooo creamy and addicting. For dessert, I first ordered the tres leches cake last week. My waitress told me that her aunt makes it for the restaurant and I could tell - it tasted so delicious that you could tell it didn't have that artificial taste that some pre-made desserts at restaurants often have. Yesterday I ordered the flan and it was the best flan I've had in my life!! It was suuuuper rich and did not have an eggy taste at all (which is something that bad flans sometimes have). The service is very nice. You can tell they are all family, and when you go to the bathroom, in the hall there is a large frame of all of the customers through the years and their kids being hugged by the manager, making it clear that this restaurant has sort of a cult following. When you pay it's all on a handwritten check a la Waffle House style, and you pay at the register. Both times I was there, there was a friendly man with a mustache to ring me up and he even recognized me the second time I went here. The kids that were in line in front of me even got a free lollipop from the cashier, who is named Mr. Tony. I asked him how long he had been working here and he said him and his brother in laws opened the Johnson Ferry location in 1981! Overall I loved everything about this place. I will say though that my service was a little slow though, so don't expect lighting speed service at peak hours. read more

I love this restaurant for a quick and inexpensive Mexican food Fix. It's tucked away behind Wells fargo Bank on Sandy plains, so it is very hard to see. But worth finding. Chips are crisp and hot. The salsa is just the best. Just the right amount of heat and good texture. The beans and rice are also very tasty. Avoid the hard taco shells, they are usually pretty flavorless. Go with the soft shells. If you're in the mood for dessert, don't miss the Tres Leches cake. best I've tasted in any restaurant. I can't really comment on the service. Pretty good establishment.My associate and I got our food quickly and efficiently and the service was faster then I expected and the waitress was very kind. The atmosphere was a little depressing though in my opinion it could've used a little more vibrancy, though it seemed authentically Mexican. I ordered a chicken quesadilla because I was not very hungry it came out quick and was prepared very well, though it was not as large as I expected. My friend ordered a steak fajita the fajita came out sizzling hot and the meet was delicious. not too chewy or bland. The salsa was also very good it was not too chunky and not too hot. for dessert I got a order of churros, and received four of them with a small scoop of ice cream. They were very good and had a delicious filling on the inside. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. Born and raised in Marietta, the only reason I'm not giving Cazadores 5 stars is because I'm afraid I might have some kind of nostalgia bias. I have been coming here since I was a little little girl. My parents used to come for the taco salad and a Carona, but I only remember how much I LOVED the cheese. I always ordered two beef tacos with extra cheese. The owners (Jesus and Toni) are two brothers. The restaurant has a great family vibe that you can't help but feel when they greet all regulars by first name. To date, I have probably tried everything on the menu at least once and I have never been disappointed. Great margaritas already, but if you want something really special... ask Jesus to make you a margarita with Agave nectar. YUM! I always said that I must be their biggest fan, but time and time again I run into locals to the area that say they wouldn't go anywhere else. As a native of Marietta transplanted to Texas for the past 6 years of my life, I have tasted quite a few chimichangas in my life, but none even come close to the chimichangas at Cazadores! The chimichangas here are deep fried, smothered in queso blanco and filled with delicious moist meat. What more could anyone want? My personal favorite is pork chimichanga, but I also enjoy the shredded chicken. Besides the chimichangas, the salsa is always fresh and freely flowing and the waiters are quick and polite. I love this place and even though I live just north of the mother land, none of the restaurants I have been too come anywhere close to matching Cazadores! My mother and I came here for dinner on a Monday night and expected great service after reading the reviews however the wait or seemed as if he just wanted us out of his hair. He was really rude and the menu didn't really have any good options for a la carte, you couldn't get anything a la carte, you had to get them in pairs and they were almost 10 dollars and that's NOT a la carte. I cannot get over how rude the service was, he didn't even wait for us to look at the menu before asking what we want then when we asked where to pay and he didn't even look at us he just mumbled with his back turned and threw his hand up. Excuse me? We had no idea where to pay, then we walked up to the register on the other side of the restaraunt and the man just sat there on his phone for a moment before even acknowledging us.
