We're fans of the Marietta Square location because it is a great quick lunch or "I don't feel like cooking tonight" dinner, as we live about 1/2 mile away. It can be a bit of a tight squeeze in the vintage building. Price wise, everything on the menu is reasonable. Plus, kids eat free on Tuesdays with the purchase of an adult meal. While service can be inconsistent and parking can be difficult to find in peak times, here are some of the redeeming factors: - mini poke tacos: love these more than the variation Mac's carries on their menu. I will say they may use a hair too much aioli at times, but the marinated tuna is a win. - queso is always a win. Served with tortilla triangles and tortilla chips. - Shanghai shrimp salad with sriracha honey dressing is my go to lunch choice. - fried yuca as a side is the way to go! The wait staff are great and the dining room would be nice if you removed 1/3 of the tables. I love good food. Service and atmosphere will always come second for me. We were in Marietta around lunchtime on a Sunday, so we opted to try this place. We had eaten at another Taqueria Tsunami once before. Parking was on-street. The square can get busy but we lucked out and got a spot quickly. It looked like there were more spots a block or so off the square. The restaurant is currently located in the middle of as strip of businesses that face the square / park. There was no wait when we arrived but tables were getting scarce (around noon). I think there may have been a short wait at some point. Chips and salsa are not complimentary here, but you can get a small side order for $4. This was worth it to me. We both opted for the Taqueria Trio - two tacos + a side. I opted for the gringo taco, some veggie option featuring fried cauliflower, and a side of black beans and rice. The food came out fairly quickly. I liked the gringo but I think I enjoyed the other one (listed last in the taco section) even more! On a typical steamy weeknight on the Square, it was your typical tastiness at TT. The "Asian-Latin fusion" aspect is nice, creating some interesting appetizer choices. Avocado headlines, either with fresh guacamole or the avocado cilantro rolls, creating a unique blend. The Korean Fried Cauliflower will suit the vegetable folks, but feel like you're indulging in something heavier. We only scratched the surface of starter choices: empanadas and mini poke tacos are for next time. The guys hit the Tsunami Bowl section hard this time, with South of the Border and Chicken Enchilada. They were both huge and barely finishable in one setting--barely. Hit the Far East on your way back to the All American as you traverse the bowl-globe. All of these give you chicken/steak/shrimp protein choices, if you aren't doing veggie or tofu. Each is unique. The wives varied, as is typical, finally settling on the Tuna Poke Bowl, and loved that sushi-grade tuna and soy vinaigrette. Our vegetarian friend always opts for tofu tacos, which do actually look good (and she can't get enough). Margarita, of course, and the Dragonberry Mojito shine among a diverse drink menu, with local drafts to pick as well. Derek was the best server we have ever encountered in Atlanta. He was patient, kind and hospitable. When my food had mayo on it (I'm vegan) he immediately fixed it, without a fuss and even ensured I got a fresh salad with it. The food was also DELICIOUS! Horrible service. I came here at about 430. The place was literally empty except for three tables in the back of the store. You could see seven maybe even eight servers just standing there. They looked at me, not a single person came up to me. I stood at the host stand for maybe three or four minutes nothing. Then the hostess came and brought me to my table. I sat at the table for another 2 to 3 minutes without anybody walking up to me. The host came up to me and apologized lol it's not even her job to serve me, she was literally embarrassed.I left a six dollar tip because I'm not cheap for 2 tacos and a drink (I used to serve). There's no way I'm the only one who experienced that. The server ages were every age from young too old. It didn't matter, race didn't matter, complete indifference... if it wasn't their table, they gave two flips, and the restaurant was literally empty. Of course I had to see if it was just me. So another couple came in and sat down. A server walked right past them. Didn't acknowledge them, and went to look at the rain through the window. What on earth lol? When I go to any branch of Taqueria Tsunami I refer back, to see what I liked and what I didn't. ***On the "let's get it again" list: Shrimp tempura and Korean carnitas tacos with a side of cucumber salad. (Our waiter said it's made with rice vinegar, giving it a nice little kick.) ***On the "maybe" list: Asada Zing. I like the components, but the bulgogi is cut in chunks -- I prefer sliced or shredded -- and the meat is not as flavorful as what I'd get in Korean bbq. ***"Nope, not for me" list: rice and beans and house salad. Boring and boring. If you have access to one of these fusion restaurants, give it a try. They all appear to have outdoor seating, but the Marietta Square location has more to see. read more

I'm soo sad to write this, but the food has really gone downhill. The quality and the portion size has left a lot to be desired. I had the garden shrimp quesadilla and my friend had the short rib quest Dillard. Hardly any filling in either of them. The manager said "Nothing has changed". After visiting a friend at Kennestone Hospital and getting great news that all went well with his surgery, the family decided to celebrate and commiserate at Taqueria Tsunami on The Marietta Square. The place is right on the square and parking can be a challenge but our group didn't have an issue. We had a group of 6 & the wait time was supposed to be 30 minutes but was more like 20. Great job by the hostess and other staff! We started with Guac as well as chips & salsa and both were very good. I think the Guac was good but can use a bit of pop! (Spice & Heat) The entrees are a fusion of Asian & Mexican with fresh take on bowls, tacos etc.... I had the Tacos Quattro and selected the Baja Taco, Pacific Rim Taco & Aloha Taco. All 3 were served nicely and the flavors were awesome! Others in the group had the South of the Border Bowl, Poke' Bowl & Traditional Quesadilla and all said everything was perfect.
