We were driving on I40 and wanted something close to the highway. Saw this place and thought we'd give it a try. Waitress was outstanding. Ambiance typical colorful Mexican restaurant. Food, not the typical food we typically enjoy. Salsa's are were very good. The small relish bowl was delicious. My dish was to be Chili Colorado. Meat was chopped up steak. (look closely at photo) Hard and tasteless . Not the typical tender pork I usually get. SALTY! OMG! Extremely salty. I ate three bites. Mexican corn was okay. I'd call it just cream style corn. Baracho beans had wieners cut up in it. They'd been okay if the hotdogs were left out. Corm was the best thing on my order. Wife ate some chicken and fried vegetables with cream sauce. I've given Cazadorez in Shawnee several chances over the past few months, hoping our first bad experience was just an off day. Unfortunately, every visit has been disappointing, and today's visit was the worst yet. The service was poor once again. We had to repeatedly remind our waitress that we needed lemons and napkins, and our drinks were never refilled. Our food arrived cold, and the beans had a taste that honestly reminded us of cleaner. To top it off, the sopapillas were flat, dry, and not enjoyable at all. After multiple visits with the same issues, it's hard to believe these are isolated incidents. We wanted to like this place, but after giving it several chances, we won't be returning. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon, seated quickly and service was great. Tortillas are made fresh, which is refreshing. You can watch them being made. Decent size bar, drinks are as you would expect. Are at Cazadorez today, food was very good but service was terrible. Was seated very quickly but server was in no hurry to wait on us. After walking by us four different times he finally asked what we wanted to drink. After bringing our drinks he disappeared for about 12 to 15 minutes and finally came back and asked what we wanted. After receiving our order he never checked on us or asked if we needed anything else but came to the table next to us several times. He was very rude to us and not polite at all. The salsa was the consistency of hot sauce and was very bland. The enchiladas belonged on the kids menu they were so small. The chimichanga was quite literally fried bread and a rotisserie chicken from Walmart. The queso and rice seemed as if they were made out of a box. Queso was so, so good! Chips were amazing, everything about this place was very authentic and had a great atmosphere. Service was great, we had chips and salsa within 10 seconds of sitting down, and then greeted within 30 seconds. Nine of us invaded Cazadorez Mexican restaurant at dinner time. Located on Harrison Street in Shawnee, Cazadorez was a popular choice with the folks we were visiting. Even at the early hour (4:00) we visited there was a fifteen minute wait. We were finally seated by a courteous wait staff and ordered. Several mixed orders of fajitas for most of our group were well liked. One of us got a shrimp cocktail, and it was enormous. I've never had this many large shrimp in a cocktail before. Spicy, sweet, and delicious. Another dish was a Molcajete, a concoction of beef, chicken, shrimp, onions, peppers. It was declared extremely tasty. Overall Cazadorez gets a big thumbs up from our crowd. If you're looking for a decent Mexican restaurant in Shawnee you'd be hard pressed to find better than Cazadorez. read more

Stopped in because my kids love white Queso. All but one of these photos are from my visit several months ago I guess I didn't post. Thankfully this trip was just a good as my last. There's really not a diverse dining opportunity in Shawnee which is surprising due to the college however. This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant (there's three or four I've been to in Shawnee that aren't what I would call a chain) and it's maybe my second favorite place to eat period (Saya Thai is doing a remodel so bummed but, excited to see the update). Casadorez is quick and has weekday specials with bomb margaritas and great prices. FYI there salsa especial is nothing like the Teds atomic salsa so when you read the description you'll be disappointed because they are not alike. However I do like this salsa. read more

I order food from Cazadorez regularly usually thru DoorDash. And it seems that the Mon-Thu cooking staff cook the food best. Every time I order Fri-Sun, my food order is shorten or taste worse. Tonight (Fri) I ordered Carne Asada Burrito meal. And the carne meat was super salty & I was short plastic-ware. I have been in their restaurant and service & food were always exemplary & tasted great. But I'm not to sure about their take-out...whats that old proverb. "Out of sight out of mind!" We recently dined there last weekend when we had a bowling tournament in town. When we passed, around 2:30 p.m., the lot was full, so we decided to go try it out. We were seated with a minimal wait (party of 5). Salsa and chips were served ; guacamole and cheese were suggested. Most of my team ordered the enchilada, and I ordered some flautas. The meals arrived quickly. Salsa: 5/5. Really good tasting salsa. Perfect balance of tomato and freshness/heat. Flautas: 4/5. Large portion. Tasted great...the shredded meat filling was a little dry. Kind of hard to eat. Enchiladas: 5/5. My teammates only complaints were the size (very large). Wasn't a "real" complaint, of course. But yea, there was plenty of food to go around. I get that they were really busy, but no one came to offer refills after our food was served. This place is really good! We came here 2 times during our week in Shawnee for the IFYR Rodeo. I have no idea why it has low ratings? The chips were fresh and crispy. Salsa was delicious, I especially loved the pico! I had the Chile Relleno lunch special both times (added ground beef, queso on top). The Mexican corn is delicious, my kids loved that! My husband is a chicken fajitas guy and said they were great. My daughter had the flautas. My son had quesadillas. It was all above average Mexican food. And trust me, we eat out a lot!! The food here is just okay. I ordered a taco salad but the bottom of the shell was missing. It was like they took the salad bowl broke out the middle and added the salad into a taco shell ring. When the server approached my table to asked things were, I asked her about the shell and showed her the bottom of it was missing and she said, "I'm sorry - I don't know." But never offered me a new shell or followed back up with me. I had to track her down after that to get anything else. Looking for something new on our Mexican food tour of tHe greater OKC area, we tried out Cazadorez for a family birthday celebration. We had a large group--table for 8--and everyone left happy and way too full! Main entrees were good but not extra special: fajita chicken enchiladas, the loaded fries, a couple of the Taco Tuesday specials (beef street tacos). The real takeaway from the night was the white queso, which was delicious but also a bit pricey at $3.99 per small bowl but was deemed worth it regardless, especially when paired with the tortillas they make in-house. The whole fam said the tortillas were better than Ted's. Four stars instead of five for not super attentive service and because $10 of our total bill was on queso that we typically get complimentary elsewhere, granted not as high-quality, but still. I've been coming to Caz fiancé I moved to Shawnee for college in 2010. Hands down the BEST white queso ever!! Their tortillas are made fresh and are delicious. I typically keep it simple with a shredded chicken quesadilla or the Stephen Special. both are delicious! We've always had excellent service (for many years my friends and I went every single week). Fernando recognizes me and my best friend and still has our order memorized and makes sure we have everything we need (even if another server is waiting on us, Fernando tells them what's up! ).
