Like any good Oklahoman, my family is always here for Tex-Mex. When this restaurant opened near our home, we were excited for another option so close to us and had high hopes for a new regular place. However, with several other Mexican places already solidified in our tastebud memory, this one fell short. Pro: homemade tortillas were really delicious. Con: we paid $5.50 for a small cup of white queso to accommodate said tortillas. It would be great if the cheese were complimentary or at least a better serving size for the price. Pro: they have an extensive a la carte menu. Con: even trying to be budget-conscious and ordering off of said menu, our single items still totaled $60 for mediocre food. Pro: the kids who don't eat Mexican food said their typical chicken strips were good. Con: those of us who love fajita chicken were disappointed in the blandness and chewiness of the meat in our enchilada. All this being said, we will likely choose Arroyo's or Los Vaqueros from now on.

Amazing service!! Served immediately at the bar top!! House Margarita is on point (order top shelf) & the tequila sunrise is fantastic!!

So happy to try this new spot for ourselves, after hearing lots of varied chatter on local Facebook pages. Clean and bright interior, super friendly service (so great), delicious meal. I had a steak fajita taco salad. Dove in and devoured it, haha, forgot to snap a photo! Delicious. Plenty of meat and veggies, freshly grilled, good amount of salad (not particularly big or unique, but flavorful). I sampled my husband's plain cheese enchilada and couldn't believe how much flavor it had, so I'll be trying one of the enchilada plates for myself soon. Huge menu, dozens of tempting choices. I hope the waitstaff is well compensated. They worked hard to keep a busy dining room happy!

We came here for dinner. They've been open abt 4 months and they know what they're doing! I was so hungry and the food did not disappoint. So hungry that I forgot to take a pic of our food. They serve chips, salsa and homemade tortillas to start out. You can also ask for white queso and guacamole but cost a little extra. Worth it! Very tasty. They have all your typical Mexican dishes from classic burritos to combo plates to other traditional faves like carnitas and chile Colorado. The nicest part of our meal was the service. Blood related or not the staff there seems like family. Everyone treated us with kindness and warmth. I was tickled when a young man came to our table to ask if we were doing alright and to see if we needed anything. He spoke with such professionalism and seemed delighted to engage with the customers. True ownership in training I will be recommending this new establishment to family n friends. Good luck to our new friends at Los Aztecas!

I'm disappointed in myself I didn't try this and review it sooner!…read more La Herencia is an upscale beautiful restaurant tucked away amongst the businesses. Every time I've driven by it's been absolutely packed in the parking lot. The staff is incredibly friendly and brings a whole fun vibe to your table. The salsa is incredible the queso is to die for. Every single thing I ate was a hit! 10/10 will be back frequently. :)

La Herencia was a decent experience. We were looking for a sit down restaurant this time instead of…read moreour typical Mexican food truck run. It was very busy when we walked in but there was no wait. We were thankfully seated immediately and started off with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy, but the salsa was mediocre. The tomatoes tasted canned. While I can totally get the efficiency behind using canned tomatoes for a busy restaurant, the taste is not preferred. The kids chicken quesadilla plate was a good amount of food! I just wish the quesadilla was already sliced as it was for our 3 year old. The chicken was also bland. Again, the portions were great. My son ordered the Burrito La Herencia with ground beef and this was seasoned well. Again, great portions of beans, rice & main dish. No complaints with this one! My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. We were sat listening to the chatter of all the different customers and kitchen noises. We did have the option of booth or table AND they have boosters seats/ high chairs upon request.

When we walked in, an older woman greeted us right away with the sweetest smile and seated us immediately. She ended up being our hostess and was so kind and attentive the whole time. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety and the prices are very reasonable, especially for how much food you get. I'll admit I was a little unsure when I saw queso wasn't complimentary, because sometimes when you pay for it, it's not that great, can tell it's made with velveeta. But we ordered the large anyway and it was actually really good. The salsa was just right too, not too mild but not overly spicy. I ordered the enchilada platter and wasn't sure how I'd feel about the red sauce, so I also got a beef chimichanga on the side just in case I did not like the red sauce. Both were really good, and the chimichanga was way bigger than I expected, honestly a full meal by itself. My daughter got the Cowboy Quesadilla and said it was the best one she's had in a while. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and really liked them, his only comment was that the steak pieces were a little thin. Overall, everything was great. The food, the service, and just how genuinely kind our hostess was really stood out. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.
