I was undecided on what career I wanted to study and then I came across CBD College and got super interested in the Pharmacy Technician program which I don't regret. Ms Hernandez is a really awesome teacher and takes her time explaining things. She teaches you a little bit of everything whether it's lecturing or on hands. Mr Stewart is a pretty awesome teacher as well. Both teachers give you something to look forward to and will try their best to place you in a good pharmacy to do externship and to work in. I moved back to CA not so long ago and Ms Hernandez contacted me asking me if I was willing to work because she had a job waiting for me and now I'm currently working at Beverly Pharmacy and everything you learn in school is basically what you will be doing in any retail/independent/compounding/hospital pharmacy. read more

I don't usually do reviews but in this case I will. In every facet, CBD has given me a a superior learning environment. The program I am in : the Occupational Therapy Assistant program is excellent. Our program director Mary Kay Wolfe is amazing, down to earth, and very knowledgeable. My instructors take great pride in teaching us theory and hands on learning, making sure we are ready once we tackle on fieldwork. They are all extremely experienced and are very approachable. You can always schedule office hours and ask for extra help in every subject! Staff at CBD are super friendly. Financial aid is extremely helpful! Leo is very intelligent and willing to go far and beyond to help you with financial matters.Administration makes sure we have school spirit by holding events and student appreciation days.Overall, this has been one of the best decisions for me (being that I am doing a complete career change). read more

So it's been awhile since I've been at this school. My experience was beyond horrible. I was months away from going to clinicals and they kept telling me I didn't pass my finals due to me not making the score. After speaking to a classmate who was going to clinicals informed me his score was lower than mine. So I was basically lied to by the program director and when I brought the attention to the dean, she did investigate it but instead protected her employee and informed me to take the final again. Then they tell me that worst come to worst I can just redo the module again. I have been suffering major anxiety the last few months commuting to school cuz I lived an hour away and I took the train and subway there just to be told I have to do my module again. Not only that but a teacher turned her whole class against me by talking about me in front of the whole class without naming names, instead of speaking to me privately. No professionalism. I ended up quitting school the last month of my term because I refused to stay another 2 months to redo a module that they have no intention of letting me pass no matter how hard I tried. I stopped trusting them. And I'm still paying my tuition dues for the time I was there. I am very close to suing this school but I have yet to find legal advice. They either like you, or they don't. That's how this school works. When I left, a classmate told me that another student was suing the school. read more

I'm in the DMS program currently in the obstetrics and gynecology module and overall I'd say I'm quite satisfied with my experience at CBD College. As far as instructors go, like in any other educational institution, range from just okay to really incredible. The quality of the lecture power points in my opinion were just okay, but they were satisfactory in that they were enough to teach you the essentials in each of the main subjects of DMS as in abdomen, ob, and vascular. I should emphasize that the knowledge of each these subjects on their own are vast and is a challenge to distill them to the basics of which we learned in our short 3 month modules. The biggest perk I would say is the freedom they give students to practice on the ultrasound machines outside of class time. Bottom line is, it's really up to you to learn the material and become a good sonographer in this program. If you're willing to put in work everyday you will come out prepared for externship and have a good foundation to keep learning and perfecting the skills needed to be an excellent sonographer. Do not expect to be baby sat in this program. If you're the kind of person who expects to be spoon fed material and be told what to do then don't apply here. The main modules of the DMS program go fast and are challenging just by the sheer amount of pathology you have to learn. I should note that I have a bachelors degree in Biology with some research experience. Sure, the depth of the material here in the DMS program is no where near the depth of the material I learned as an undergraduate, but the volume of information you have to learn is a challenge. In conclusion my experience at CBD college so far has been great and I would recommend it to anyone interested in getting into DMS. read more

I graduated from this school- Pharmacy Tech Program. I would say I learned a lot from here and the staff helped a lot from the learning skills needed to prepare us, to sending us to top hospitals for clinical internship and assistance for employment, I got employed by the hospital after I graduated from this program. Schedules are very flexible depending on your needs (I took the evening course). It is truly an excellent experience for me and I highly recommend their Pharmacy Tech program. I just completed the physics module a few weeks ago. I loved our physics teacher! You can tell he is passionate about this field and really cares about his students passing. I remember not doing too well on one of my transducer quizzes and I asked him for help he went out of his way to show me all the different transducers, so I can get a better visualization. I ended up doing a lot better on the actual exam for the transducers. The faculty is amazing here they want you to succeed, not only academically but also as professionals. The programs main focus is for you to become excellent scanners. Everything is hands on, the more you practice and mess around with the machines the better you will be. You just have to put in the work. Physics isn't an easy subject to learn but if you put in the effort and ask for help you will do great. read more

I am currently in the school's DA program and since the moment i started this school, the staff and teachers have been very kind, helpful and very diligent. The teacher's in the program , are very determined that their students succeed and understand the material being taught. If a student needs a little extra help , there are teachers who will go the extra mile to make sure, their students don't fall behind and succeed. The staff in the student service center are very welcoming and truly helpful. If you have questions about anything job related ( interview tips, how make a resume , how to dress, etc) , they are there to help you right away. Overall since I've started this school in October , I've had a great experience. As well, I have created some life long memories with this school , that ill always carry with me. Stay away from this school. CBD College is the worst school I've ever been. The instructors made too many mistakes and don't teach. They just sit there and do nothing. When students ask questions, the teachers want other students to answer it for them. They jeep on telling us to work in groups but students have no ideas of the lesson and fool around. My grade dropped when I transfer to this school. My old school is much better than this rubbish school. I didn't learn anything from this school. They also made my grades drop and embarrassed me in front of other people. I'm an elegant person and that's the only time in my life that I curse at those dumb stupid teachers. They don't even know elementary general knowledge statements. Students are more intelligent and active than those teachers. They blame on the students who made the school fall but it's the teachers who made it fall. They need to learn how to properly speak English. Old teachers got replaced and new one quit, no one likes that school. They force their students to place good reviews on Yelp and Facebook to pass their tests. I do not recommend this school ..... the receptionist are ok two of them had really bad attitudes but for the most part applying was a hassle but doable I applied for DMS program BUT when I had my interview worst experience ever!!!! You meet with a group of people and they questioned me for being 1st generation and asked how I would pay for school and how do I know that I would finish if nobody in my family have gone to school they would not stop questioning me why I thought I would make it if I didn't have anyone in my family that had gone to school!!! I felt so uncomfortable!!!! They proceed by asking about my grades in anatomy that I just finished and grades weren't posted yet! and I said idk what I got yet and they responded by "so you don't care about school or your future" they were really rude and told me it seems like you didn't finish your associate why would you finish here ! .... after I told them I really wanted to do my externship at UCLA and other big hospitals and one of the guys laughed....I swear I can go on and on this school just wants money... I started my dms program somewhere else and it's going great!!! This school is extremely disorganized and is very business oriented. Students can't use the student center to print hw per the CEO it is not their responsibility to provide printing services. Not much of a student center much more like a giant office for employees. No student supplies are actually sold there but hey you can study there if you please. Their is also a printer there present for the students, but after a year there is still no access. Come here to get a degree and get out, this place is just a stepping stone. I can't really call this place a true college it is very undeveloped and staff is never on the same page. Go here, no we don't do that here go to X, hold on X just sent me here. 50k*112 students=5.6 million and that is just the sum of one program and we don't even have printing services. The CEO sees us as a figure rather than a client. Be aware of this when you come to this school believe me staff is extremely disorganized and you will get many headaches here. The plus side is the school is accredited and you will learn your trade but you have to tolerate a lot of bad business. read more

CBD does pay for your Phlebotomy training it is not part of the 10 1/2 month program it is a bonus to us as students, and if you dropped in January from the program obviously you did not even stay 3 months because the program started in October. Went in to inquire about their Occupational Therapy Program. This school claims to be a For profit school when in actuality they're no different than any other private or trade schools. I have all of the necessary prerequisites for their programs and I brought over my official transcripts just for them to tell me that THEY DID NOT ACCEPT ANY TRANSFER CREDIT. What school doesn't accept legit & legal transfer classes from accredited schools? The advisor that spoke with was not very helpful and was not interested in trying to negotiate or help any students looking to transfer in classes. I myself have EVERY prerequisite classes needed for transfer and was still told I had to start from the beginning which would take a lot of time and most important of all... MONEY. If you cared for your students enough then you wouldn't force them to take over classes already taken. The advisor Said they used to but "it was a headache so we stopped doing it." It's your job & this is your students and prospective students future that you're talking about. This school OBVIOUSLY could care less about their students and will use vulnerable and desperate people looking to get into the program at any cost. STAY AWAY. read more

This is my experience on trying to get into the sonography program. I finished all the steps In order to be considered to being a part of the school, all the tests, financial aid and student loan mumbo jumbo. In order to offically get accepted into this program you have to sign a thick contract just to meet with the directors, the directors choose whether or not they want you in their school. I have been told by former student that they never did this before until they recently got accredited by caahep. I met with 3 directors, the interview was generally an awkward one, they pretty much try to get personal with how much money you make and if you or your parents could pay for the school, they pretty much laughed at the fact that I do not have a car and that I take public transportation. You would think a non profit school would want to help students but in reality all they see is profit. I did not get in the first try and I just thought to myself maybe I am just overthinking this they can't be this terrible. I tried a second time, I signed a thick contract again and proceeded to see the same directors again. The directors were so rude and unprofessional that when I step in the room to see them one of them commented "not again". They asked me such rude ignorant questions such as "What makes this interview different than the last one?", "Why a sonographer? Why not a Nurse?", "What does your mother want you to be?", "What have I been doing all this time?". Not only that, in each question that I answered they had a rude remark.There were so many rude remarks that I don't even bother trying to type all of them. A interview should be like a conversation not a place for a person to get bullied. When you pick a school do not let the "non-profit" slogan fool you because their are "for-profit" schools that charges the same amount of money with the same caahep accrediation, and same private loan and financial aid process. For example, platt college. By the end of the day non profit and for profits are all the same. I am currently happy that I did not get accepted because that was just god way of telling me I can do better. read more

This school is fraud! I don't recommend it to anyone! I went here for the surgical tech program. Originally I had came here for the lvn program but Marty convinced me how the surgical tech program would be better. And come to find out every girl in my class was convinced to do the same. I think just needed to fill up the surgical tech program class. All they care about is taking your money. There were some classes where we had to basically teach ourselves because the teacher would just tell us to read out the book. There were teachers the had the worst attitudes and rude.The financial aid people don't know what they are doing. I had completed the course and when I tried checking out the school, Leo then tells me that he never did the loan for the second part of the course so I had to come up with $7,700.00 before being able to get my certificate of completion. And he did this to my other classmate as well. It's been over a year now and none of my classmates including me have got a job as a surgical tech. So I suggest not wasting your money at this school because now I'm in debt and I can't find a job for what I went to school for and I know the the rest of my class would agree with me! read more
