I'm Anthony Dominguez. I enrolled in CBD College's Physical Therapist Assistant program, passed Module 1 with strong exam scores, and balanced full-time work while caring for my hospitalized mother. I brought proof of every absence and every shift. None of that mattered. Financial Aid? A wall of silence. Calls unanswered, emails ignored. When I asked for an out-of-pocket cost for semester two, nobody could even give a number. Instead of support, I got a cancellation notice. Academics? I did the work. I submitted every essay. My English instructor, Donna Madison Bell, failed me over petty formatting and quotation marks. That one class--on paper--gave the College the excuse they needed to drop me. The rest of the staff? Either unresponsive or buried behind ticket systems so slow the problems outlived the semester. Even with proof of my situation, they left me locked out of Module 2. Here's what it means in plain language: CBD College hides behind policy and "conditional enrollment" while students like me do the hard work. They take your aid, drag their feet, and when the system they built fails you, they blame you. I believe the way I was treated--while being a Hispanic student who delivered results--was discriminatory. That's my lived experience. Don't be fooled by the handful of kind instructors. I respect Jessica in Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology; she's solid. But one good teacher can't cover for an institution that cancels a student who passes exams and proves commitment. CBD College didn't remove me because I failed. They removed me because their own process failed. And now they've lost a determined, high-performing student. That's on them. I won't reapply. I won't recommend. There are stronger programs--American Career College, Stanbridge University--that respect hard work and answer the phone. If you value your time, money, and future, take your ambition elsewhere. CBD College had the chance to back a fighter. Instead, they made an enemy. Let's deal in facts, not marketing copy. You claim: "This process exists to ensure the program is a good academic and personal fit before any binding tuition obligations are incurred." If that were true, I wouldn't have been dropped after acing every exam (95 % and higher, 100 % on quizzes). Testing knowledge is the very definition of proving academic fit. Your own numbers prove me fit. Dropping a student who meets and exceeds those standards contradicts your statement outright. That's not a "fit evaluation," that's a policy weapon. You also claim: "No tuition charges... no tuition is ever collected until the student meets the conditional enrollment criteria." Yet financial aid staff (name on record: Callie Driskill) told me in writing that any aid already applied to Module 1 will not be reimbursed and that if a student is forced to repeat Module 1-- even if they didn't truly fail-- financial aid may not cover the second run. Translation: students are on the hook for up to $18,000 for general-ed classes before you ever grant "full" admission. That is money collected. Your own email trail proves it. So which is it? No tuition collected, or students risking $18k with zero guarantee of aid if you decide they must retake a module they already passed? Both can't be true. And here's the core issue you keep dodging: CBD College doesn't reward mastery of the material. It rewards ticking boxes inside an opaque policy. Teachers can fail a student over petty format quirks or simply poor instruction, and your system converts that into cash--forcing another paid module no matter how well the student knows the subject. You can ace every test, submit every assignment, and still be dropped because the College's bottom line wins over your education. Recent graduate and let me just say that the whole clinical process was horrible and not consistent. Did not start when I was suppose to and there were many gaps in between my sites because they did not have anywhere to send me. They also sent the class ahead of my class to clinicals when our class was not even done. Terrible and I recommend a different school. The teachers I had for my last lab were great and helpful and are also no longer there. read more

I'm graduating from the MRI program soon. Like many of these reviews, notable flaws are from the horrible financial aid department that you never hear from unless you owe money. Bryan Lopez, the clinical coordinator is on a power trip. I swear I get more threatening messages/emails from him in comparison to an abusive ex girlfriend. He acts like the students aren't paying THOUSANDS of dollars for this program. He preaches communication, but he should really practice what he preaches. Cannot communicate to save his live, then he will act like it's your fault. Bryan is poorly spoken about at all the clinical sites. He may just cost CBD their clinical connections. He sends these students in terrified for clinicals and gives out false information. This and so so much more. The instructors are constantly rotating but they are just about the only thing good about this program. Choose another school, do more research. You're throwing away over $50k if you go here. Attention to MRI students! You all need CRT liscene in order to get hired in a hospital in CA and CBD never tells you that! Go and. Get ur x-ray degree first then in a few months u can get ur MRI degree but if you study MRI first you have to go to 2 years of school of x-ray in order to be eligible to get your CRT ! You need both x-ray and MRI liscense to get CRT so the fastest way is to finish x-ray school and after it in just a few months you can get ur MRI degree! read more

Beware of the Surgical Technology Program at CBD College If you're considering CBD College, especially the Surgical Technology program -- please think twice before enrolling. My experience here has been overwhelmingly disappointing and unprofessional. The staff and administration often come across as condescending, dishonest, and biased. Many students, including myself, have felt unsupported and dismissed when we tried to voice concerns. It seems like the directors and deans care more about maintaining appearances than actually helping students succeed. The communication at this school is terrible. Emails and messages are frequently ignored, and when you do get a response, it's often unhelpful or delivered with attitude. Important information about classes, schedules, and externships is often unclear or given at the last minute, leaving students stressed and confused. The current Surgical Technology Director is particularly problematic. She has displayed clear favoritism and personal bias in the program. It's well known among students that she had issues with the former director due to his religious beliefs -- something that should never influence professional conduct in an academic setting. She's also made political comments and openly praised Trump during class discussions, which has made several students -- especially minorities -- feel uncomfortable and excluded. To make matters worse, she allowed a student to receive the valedictorian award despite cheating, simply because that student was one of her favorites. This kind of favoritism completely undermines the integrity of the program and is unfair to everyone who works hard and follows the rules. The teaching staff isn't much better. One of the ST instructors admitted this was his first teaching position, and unfortunately, it shows. His lack of teaching experience and condescending attitude make it difficult to learn effectively in class. Overall, CBD College feels like a place that cares more about money and image than about students' education or well-being. Please don't enroll here just because it's cheaper -- reward yourself with a more positive and professional experience elsewhere. This is not the place you want to be if you value respect, fairness, and quality education. People like sabrina DeGain, lisa reichstein are a few of many crappy financial aid workers who dont do their job right at all and you will end up suffering from their incompetence. they claim "this award" i was given was not their fault but a "software issue" meanwhile at this time sabrina admitted to mistakenly "keyed in" another students payment onto my account. clearly this proves she is not careful at all with students accounts it shows how this school mistreats and even carelessly handle these vital accounts. On top of that even AFTER signing and agreeing to making payments for this suspicious "reward" Sabrina DeGain continued to incorrectly input miscalculated and incorrect information on our contracts. If I could rate this college 0 Stars I would. As someone that graduated from the OTA program and for anybody that is thinking of enrolling in their program DONT. The unprofessionalism that admin staff displays is unheard of. The only thing that is good about this college is their professors. To try and get a timely answer is impossible. You're met with delays, excuses and absolutely no accountability from admin. I graduated 04/02/2026 and took my boards exam 05/04/2026 and did not get my score why? Because CBD COLLEGE failed to send out my transcripts in a timely manner to ensure my score would be received in time. Mind you it's been about a month since i graduated and then some. During the licensing process to get assistance was a nightmare. They say they are there or help yet go quiet when you have questions and guidance in the process. They also put tuition money in VANILLA VISA GIFT CARDS. That is not ensured. My card got compromised and what answer did i get from the dean? Since the card is under your name you need to basically figure it out. Mind you I DID NOT ASK for $300+ of MY tuition money to get placed in a bogus card. It's not till you have to really speak up for yourself and defend yourself that Admin is willing to help. Till this day in time idk what is going on with that card that got compromised cause it's a process of 45-90 days till you hear back and CBD was faced with no other choice but to give me a new one cause I didn't take the deans answer as suitable nor helpful. I will give props to the career coordinator Delia who is so helpful goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the process of the licensure and that reaches out and actually cares. CBD wants you to meet deadlines, be respectful, and communicative but they don't even hold that standard. It's always the students fault never their fault. Everything is always a meeting, there is nobody ever available for something that can be an urgent matter. Pertaining to the surgical technology program and the staff. The 2 lab instructors i had were amazing THANK YOU Dr. K and Dr. H, but that is about the only good i can say about this school and its unfortunate. Please do not waste your money going to this school, they are extremely un professional in dealing with students and extremely vague on giving direction on how to do clinical. Almost all of the staff does not even live in this state so if we need help with anything it is never in person. when questions are asked via email or text they either never respond or take many weeks to respond and by that time it is to late because whatever you needed has already passed. During clinicals we were not coached at all on how things were supposed to work while at our clinical sites so this led to confusions and unfortunate misunderstandings that led to students being the ones that got in trouble. Instead of pulling students aside and explaining what they did wrong so they can correct it, they were bullied or thrown into a room with multiple people and made to feel like they were the bad person for asking a question about sterility or questioning a preceptors actions. (i thought students were supposed to ask questions?). Asking these questions ultimately lead to them assuming i was doing something wrong and they accused me of forging signatures (which i absolutely did not do) and the dismissed me 12 hours and 18 cases away from being done with the program. Not to mention i had already walked for graduation. (what the heck do i tell my friends and family and how the heck do i pay my student loans back)? and yes CBD got paid in full. The financial aid department was sketchy too, none of the documents they sent me made any sense, and i believe they charged me the full amount when i had already taken my gen edd and transfered credits. This place is probably one of the worst places to get your education at. They drop you even though you have straight As and keep others who have lower scores than you. And don't come at me with that conditional enrollment bullshit, many peers had scored lower scores and had advanced while others who had higher test scores were left behind. They even lock you out of class and don't even let you take your final. What a nasty place. Even the dean was lying out of her ass on multiple occasions on the phone. I graduated recently from the mri program. It was a decent experience and I am very grateful for everything this program has offered me because without the instructors I would not be where I am today. However now that I am working and scanning in this field, I come up short when it comes to starting ivs. I was assigned to a clinical site that did not allow me to start ivs as a student. But there are other students at my current place of employment that start ivs all day long with no issue. I am now having to learn how to do it at my current place of employment putting me at a great disadvantage when we are understaffed and there is no one to do it but me. I enjoy attending school here at CBD college, especially with our amazing surgical technologist program teacher/instructor, Dr. Khoram. Dr. K is a surgeon of 25 years, part time CST and a teacher. He is very well respected by all of his students and built the majority of the ST program. I do not believe anyone in the surgical technology program admin is helpful. Unfortunately and especially, the director of the ST program - Mrs. Stephanie Schrems/Allen, is unprofessional. Many emails were sent out from students to Stephanie Schrems. She is the director of the program and supposed to be there for the students. She likes to tell us not to hesitate to reach out to her if we have any questions or concerns; but when we do, she does not reply back. In the beginning of this module, I heard another teacher had joined the ST program labs for the past 3 weeks. That teacher is a certified surgical technologist with 15 years of experience and has trained fellow CST students. Mind you, TRAINED, not taught. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the new teacher and Stephanie Schrems have driven Dr. K to resign from his position at CBD college. Let me tell you, every past and current student he had was in disbelief and wanting to transfer out. How can a student not want a surgeon/cst as their teacher over a CST with experience? But I am sure there is more to it. To be honest, we all think they might be bothered by how much Dr. K cares for his students' education. Not only does he teach us about the instruments and procedures, but he also lectures us about the anatomy of the procedures. He wants his students to understand how, what, where and why the "patient" is having this surgery; not just memorizing or knowing the technique of passing instruments, setting up the OR or knowing the sterile technique. Dr. K is the best investment they have towards this program. When concerns are mentioned to Schrems, she just brushes them off and defends the people she believes will benefit her. She should be dismissed from the school of her position/title, immediately. They need to find someone who is more concerned about their students' education, time and money. On top of that, this is the first time I am hearing that a director of a program lives in a different state than the school she is working/teaching at. I feel like most of the staff from other programs are here in California. I have noticed the director or dean of DMS has visited the class one or twice. Where is our director? How come she is not visiting the ST classes? I've heard of students who wait possibly 4 months or up to a year for externship sites to call them. This will push back the student's graduation date and grace period for the loan. Then to find out, some of their sites are dental offices. What does dental have to do with surgical technologists? We have the right to voice our concerns and cannot keep going unnoticed because a good percentage of the students are taking out loans to attend the school. Taking out loans of $40,000 for school is not the problem, but it's the lack of integrity and communication. As a program director, I think you should always try your best to hear out your students' concerns and make it happen hence we are paying for it. They're making us feel like we are just a paycheck to them. If you decide to join the ST program, do not. Don't waste your money here. At that point you're committed and HAVE to make it work. It's VERY time consuming, I only work 4 days and it's hard. Communication with anyone at the school is ALL online except the instructors. I forgot to mention they also lost their accreditation for one of the DMs specialties and told none of their students. Please take your money and go somewhere else for a valuable education. CBD college may be accredited but they do not provide the adequate tools/staff to hold up this "accreditation". Instead they gaslight you and make up excuses on why they can't provide certain things. Tuition is way over priced in this program especially for the quality of education you receive. They do not have reasonable time for you to practice. When they do let you practice, they make it as if they are doing you a favor. It should be mandatory to have business hours open to students who need to scan. Especially when our grade depends on it. How can you learn at a professional level when they pick and choose when you are allowed to practice? Makes no sense at all. Rules are being changed and made up as they go. Unfortunately the staff is a revolving door, so many teachers and administrators left since the time I started this program. You are forced to take SPI ( $250 out of pocket) before you get to go to clinicals. Again, these are new rules that were not there when I signed up for the program. You can be getting straight As and they will fail you for not passing a state test they never taught you. Again you are teaching yourself. But when you do pass they force you to give them your score so it can make them look good as a school. It's all about numbers to them. While you do all the work. So if you think you'll graduate in 21 months THINK AGAIN. They will literally make you take the same 11 week course again instead of letting you proceed to clinicals. CRAZY! Let me make CLEAR, we signed a contract and the contract states it is NOT required to obtain licenses in order to graduate. YET they are not allowing us to proceed to clinicals until we pass our SPI which is a licensing exam. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!!!! And administration will talk in circles to justify it. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Teachers would speak to you in front of the entire class on matters that should be private. In vascular, teacher banned taking pictures of OUR OWN IMAGES so we couldn't refer back to them as a method of learning and familiarizing ourselves in class all because of how she "feels". She wants us to learn her way when some of us prefer a visual way of learning. Again ultrasound is about skilled images yet we aren't allowed to use them as a learning tool. Makes no sense at all. This school is backwards and tooooo expensive but since they are likely the only accredited school in La they continue to get business. read more

Long Post: HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE (Surgical Technology) This institution in regards to the students and financial aid department is so utterly absurd. You cannot contact anybody within the school, nobody and I mean nobody answers there emails, when you attempt to call someone the phones are never in service. This institution is so money hungry they made my GF pay a large sum of money within 1 day without any warning and due to her not having that amount within 1 day they paused her semester and she had to wait a entire semester to continue. Staff: Many of the instructors are very helpful and kind however there are some that are very very biased when a situation arises at a clinical site. Allegations were made against my GF that were proven false due to evidence however a instructor who knew the person alleging the allegations decided to not even bat an eye to the evidence brought forth and denied the appeal entirely resulting in my GF being kicked out of the program. She had A's in all her classes and always put her best in. Instructors should not be allowed to sit on the board that deals with Appeals because they show absolute bias to there coworkers. My GF since this entire experience has had to transfer to ACC to continue her education. Furthermore, they take absolutely forever to place you within a clinical site. The communication between instructor and student is almost nonexistent, most of it is them telling you the day of and when you message them back they for some reason disappear. They are very good at one way communication. They will message you but when you need to contact them, they are ghosts. If you value your money and time, do not come here. Some people will have positive experiences depending on what program you choose but those trying to become Surgical Technologists please look elsewhere. read more

this school is a JOKE and kind of a scam!! i started the MRI back in october for module 1 with a total of 4 classes, 2 were exempt (bc i had previous credits from other schools) and the 2 i was taking i had 98% and a 96%. my vaccines they needed were submitted, my financial situation was cleared, everything was good to go. during finals week, me and a few other students get dropped from the school with NO WARNING. we couldn't even take our final and get our full credit for these classes, and just think why .. so we wont be able to transfer these classes over! BS! PASSING GRADES AND EVERYTHING ON TRACK AND JUST DROPPED LIKE NOTHING! just got a shitty email stating i can start module 1 over in january. why TF would i have to start module 1 ALL OVER when i have straight A's?!?!?? other students who are moving forward to module 2 don't even have straight A's (they told me this bc we have a discord chat) so it seems they like to pick and choose RANDOMLY who gets to move forward. WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY!!! we don't even know if they are fully accredited take ur money, time, and energy else where! read more

I graduated CBD's DMS program in July of 2020. Majority of the DMS instructors and program faculty are top notch and super dedicated to the success of their students. I have no complaints about the DMS program itself. However, I am almost 3 years out from graduation and I reached out to the school regarding a transcript that I needed to apply to another school. I was informed after requesting my transcript that my account had a so called "outstanding monetary balance" which I was unaware of for almost 3 YEARS. Literally NO ONE from CBD has attempted to contact me via email or phone regarding this issue and when I spoke to the financial aid person, Lisa Reichstein, about this issue she informed me that if I didn't make some sort of payment that I would immediately be sent to collection.... After no warning for almost 3 years... I have had a HORRIBLE experience with the financial aid department while trying to resolve this issue; Specifically with Lisa Reichstein, from inaccurate communication about what my monthly payments would be to her accidentally charging my bank account with monthly payments NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. Both of the accidental excessive charges were of payments greater than $250.00 which is a significant amount of money to be losing on accident as a result of someone's incompetence. If you're looking for a private, CAAHEP accredited school for DMS look no further. But beware that everyone in their administration is totally incapable, unprofessional & obviously unqualified to do their job correctly. read more

Full disclosure- I didn't get accepted into this school. I am not writing this review because I am salty about that. I am enrolled in a different DMS program with another school. I'm leaving this review so hopefully I can help someone else considering CBD college. 1. What does CBD even stand for? I never was able to find out. 2. The application process is, in my opinion, impersonal and unnecessarily convoluted I had to follow very specific instructions, starting with an 8 minute Wonderlic assessment followed by a 1 hour assessment focused on English and Math. I scored over 1600 for English and a little over 1400 for math, which is not my strong suit. This made me eligible to create an interview video 3. 50% of the school considering me was my Wonderlick score so I figured I really had to wow them in my video, especially since I was told there were only 25 openings. The other 50% was my video. In my background I have worked with oncology (cancer) patients, hospice, burn scar patients, infants, pregnant patients and so on. I've done that for 20 years. Apparently that wasn't what CBD college is looking for because my application was denied. 5. I was invited to apply again in April - no thanks. I was also invited to enroll in another course they offer. Again, no thanks. I never spoke to anyone over the phone. Despite being a non-profit institution the tuition is 30k more than my current tuition at a for profit school. I was not given a tour, virtual or otherwise. I never actually spoke to a person. I was told the staff is too busy for you until you're enrolled. 6. If, despite reading this review you choose to apply, best of luck to you. The school is the only CAHEP accredited institution in LA which was the main selling point for me and the reason they get two stars instead of just the one. Happy schooling! read more

UPDATE! I've been getting some messages if I graduated or not. Don't really post on yelp but here goes my experience! Three years ago I joined CBD college. Finishing up where I left off, I talked about how great the SPI professor was. Then took abdomen class. The abdomen professor could of been better. Many complained about her teaching because we felt like we weren't learning any scanning techniques and abdomen in general. Then I ended up taking the rest of OB/gyn/ vascular class online dude to Covid. OB/gyn and vascular professor was amazing. You can feel the passion in their teaching. It was such a difficult transition especially because learning online is tough for me and we didn't scan hands on due to Covid. The school then provided us with sonosim which we learned how to scan with an equipment you plug in your computer at home. It was okay still tough to learn. After, 6 months of externship started. Working to keep up with bills, social life, etc while 6 months of externship...sheesh, it was crazy let me tell ya. But I don't know how I did it, but I did it and so can you. I want to encourage you all. I ended up graduating beginning of 2021, 4 months later I found a job as a sonographer. My whole 6 months externship experience was a great one, especially the tech at the site who trained me. Every site is different. I hear good and bad stories of techs. I am really lucky to have a tech who liked to teach. I learned so much at externship. The hard work I put in, willing to show my tech how much I wanted to be a sonographer ended up her having to text me 4 months later asking if I was still looking for a job because she was leaving her site and wanted me to replace her. I'm telling you this because don't slack at externship, everybody is watching, be a good student, always show you're willing to work, ask a lot of questions, come prepared before going to externship, the one who will train you can put a good word for you and you can get hired if they're in need. When I say everybody is watching, they're also watching how you are as a person, not only just scanning and knowing the books in the back of your head. Your personality affects. Do you show patient care? Do you smile and say hi to people? Do you start drama? All that matters as well. After graduating from externship, it was hard to find a job because many places want experience of course. I kept trying and trying until one day, 4 months later my tech who trained asked me. That's why show hard work at externship, don't be lazy. I'm extremely happy at where I'm at now. I've been working as a sonographer for 1 year and 4 months now. I've learned so much that I'm confident in my scans. I can scan abdomen, small parts, vascular studies such as carotid, lower arterial/venous studies and more. I just learned how to scan 1st trimester. Externship prepared me so much I feel like rather than the rest of the online classes that I took due to Covid. Now, I get to teach students from CBD college and west coast uni where I work at. I have a student currently from CBD college, she's doing great so far. Shout out to Angel! I LOVE teaching sonography to my students. I'm passionate, make sure they learn and succeed because I was once there in their shoes. Now that I have some experience, I might even consider doing travel gigs as a sonographer soon! I know there's a lot of mixed review here on yelp about CBD. Well in my experience, it was a great one overall. There were some areas at cbd that was unorganized but I managed to pull through even if it can be frustrating at times. Just keep moving forward no matter what. EVERY SCHOOL HAS THEIR FLAW. No school is perfect at all. So don't feel discouraged. Just push through by studying hard and disciplining yourself. I apologize for the lengthy post, but I feel like it's necessary in order to get my frustration out and warn people about the crocked and terrible experience I had at this school. Do not trust any one in the admin team. Especially, Stephanie Allen, Brittney Perry and Joshua Latorre. This is a terrible school. Absolutely horrible experience. No one on the Surgical Technologist admin team is helpful at all whatsoever. I reached out multiple times to admin about an issue I was having with my clinical site and they constantly ignored me. Then, when the situation escalated is when they wanted to get involved. At that point it was too late and Brittney Perry was extremely rude and came in with no information to tell me that I should have tried harder to reach out to the school. No one picks up the phone ever, no one answers your emails ever, they dont even reply to text messages. Don't even get my started on Stephanie Allen, she is the worst one of all. She is the program coordinator and she loves to preach about how she's always there for her students and will always reply to us and will help us with any concerns or issues we have, however she is not. My entire course I have reached out to her multiple times and she never replied to a single email. She is useless and should immediately be relieved of her title at this school. This school is a joke and waste of your time. The school makes promises they cannot keep and take months to get a clinical site for you to do your hours. The school doesn't do any research on the facility they send you to. They school send their students to sketchy hospitals and outpatient centers where the hospital doesn't practice what you were taught I school. They have students sitting for months waiting to be placed at a site and when you need specific cases the facility they send you to doesn't do the cases you need they just waste your time. This is months after you have graduated from school and only need to finish your clinical hours so you can finally sit for your CST Exam. I am not one to talk negatively about anywhere and I dont like to leave bad reviews, however, I had to make an acceptation because this school needs to be shut down. The two stars are really meant for the financial aid office . I have dealt with so many problems with them that I'm sure I'm not the only one. LITERALLY they are the worst . If you want more details , personal message me on that part but I rather not unleash hell on this review. For the staff and the DMS program, I absolutely loved it there are no problems . I graduated recently and though I do wish I wasn't part of COVID I was and so lab time was very limited . But the teachers are great and caring , I also enjoyed my externship. Everyone of my teachers were amazing, aside from Daniela. I lost my mom, completely unexpectedly 1 month into my clinicals. I let my site know(site manager and the techs) the morning it happened that I wouldn't be in and had been in contact with them for the following week and a half. I got a call from Daniela, CRITICIZING ME for 5 min. I couldn't even get a word in. She told me how I made her look bad(when I was in contact with my site) and how I was not to return and she was banning me from my site. At the end of the call I didn't know what to say because I was taken a back by how she was treating me after just losing my mom, when I took all the appropriate steps to let everyone know what was going on, so I just said "okay". She proceeded to hang up on me. No bye, no thank you for your time, sorry for your loss. Nothing. Hung up on. Extremely unprofessional! How dare you treat your students like that. I started to not do so well in class, as I had to take on so much after the passing of my mom. One more month went by, and I got a call asking if I needed a leave of absence. WHERE WAS THAT THE DAY I CALLED AND EXPLAINED MY SITUATION?? I didn't know that was an option. Would've been nice to know. I was told "life happens". While that's true, everyone leads a different family life and has different relationships with they're family. It was completely unacceptable how they handle my situation. And the cherry on top, was finding out someone else at this school when through the same thing and was treated the same. Do you not care about your students? read more

I had a meeting today at 3 with Monica and now it's almost 20 minutes (writing this at 25 minutes into the meeting) since I have been waiting for her to come on now. What was the point of setting up a meeting that she wasn't going to attend. I'm very annoyed because I took time out of my day to do this and I could of been working. I don't understand why people leave negative reviews. I've had a great experience here. Learned a lot. Met great people. My program director (pharmacy technician) was great! Funny and always ready to help. You learn a lot with both hands on techniques and all studying one does. When I started, class was small. Perfect for the teacher to explain everything and not feel dumb. As the class increased, many would drop out. It wasn't because the teacher or the school was not doing their job, I think it's the amount of work you do in class that people don't want to do. Especially our class we deal with a lot of pharmacy calculations, conversions and medical terminology. It's a lot! You go to school to learn and you work your butt off. School isn't easy you just have to stick it out to the end! read more

Thanks to Raul, I was employed as soon as I was done with my clinical hours. He was the most helpful in getting me employed and making sure I was CST ready. As for the rest of the program, I'd say do your own research on your student loan, I was never told the amount I signed up for or explained to what it all meant. They also have a high teacher staff turnover. Which made my learning experience a tad more difficult because we constantly had subs or new teachers who didn't stay on task with the syllabus. Other than that, everything else was alright & the program starts off very challenging but overtime it gets easier. read more

I have always been interested in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. When I first started looking for programs, the first thing that caught my eye about CBD COLLEGE was that it is an accredited program. When I did my research about what employers were looking for, majority of them preferred a CAAHEP accredited program. This is what brought me to CBD. The DMS program was challenging (especially during Covid,) but with the help and support of the CBD faculty I was put in a position to excel. What I also like about CBD COLLEGE was the open lab time on the weekends to get some extra scanning in and ask questions. DO NOT consider this school. I had high hopes for the ultrasound program which is (TEMPORARILY) accredited in Los Angeles. I had a bad, gut feeling from the first day. The admissions person clearly told me I would be the lucky one if I was chosen. Well, I WAS chosen and accepted into the program. I was lied to by financial aid on the time frame of when loans would come through to cover the costs of my program. They were also supposed to handle previous school loan postponement which was NEVER DONE. I was paying $702 per month, out of pocket, to the school. On the first week of school there was a major schedule change. The professor's time of class did not align with what administration had distributed to the students. I had to rearrange my work schedule. There was no communications to relay important information. For example, school would be cancelled or there was a schedule change and I was not informed. This is very crucial information when one is a working person and cannot drop everything to conform to their changes. They've confused me for at least 2 other students on numerous occasions. Although there were many red flags, I stuck it out and stayed in the program. I realized they are just starting this program and still working things out. I tried to be patient. It was very disheartening to be treated like a teenager by most of the staff and some of the professors. I am a 32 year old working professional. I was respectful and courteous, however, there was a major lack of respect in return. Not to mention, I am PAYING my hard earned money to be there. I was succeeding and receiving great grades. I put in extra effort to meet with the professors after school and on the weekends. I studied with classmates. I was excelling. It was up until the finals where everything drastically changed. Administration came in and rearranged the seating. They began to monitor us and watch each and every one of us, like hawks, while we took our finals. Our professor explained he had no prior knowledge of this. The notes that were promised (that we were relying on) were taken away and not permitted. We were asked to put all drinks, even water, in the back or the room. We were treated like juveniles. It was extremely uncomfortable. I was told that my finals affected my overall grade so badly that I would not be allowed to proceed in the program. I was denied by their "committee" which is a made up group of people with no substantial qualifications to make such decisions. I was also sent an additional reply to a confidential email that was written by one of my peers with the same first name. I was, again, mixed up with another person. This is a HUGE error coming from a place that has such high expectations and requirements of others. Have they heard of HIPAA? I had an A in my physics class. I received an A on every test except a B in one or two. SUPPOSEDLY, I failed my final so badly that I failed the class. I find this really hard to believe. It is now March 2019. I have been going back and forth via email with the school's program director, assistant, and C.O.O. copied on the emails. The program director has never once tried to speak to me. I have been communicating primarily with the C.O.O. It shows what lack of experience and expertise this school has that the C.O.O. is the only one that can handle these issues. I have been asking since November 2018 for a copy of my finals which I was NEVER shown. I have filled out and submitted a form for review of my records, I have sent a check for the fee for a copy of my records which I mailed via USPS with signature confirmation and they state they did not receive it... Still remains a mystery what happened with my finals. It could be any made up score. I believe the school is biased and prefers young, compliant, inexperienced students that do not have jobs (free, automatic, guaranteed financial aid payments, perhaps??). I know there was a lot of cheating going on and it was overlooked. These students were allowed to continue on in the program. The education provided will not be up to par with the real world. They cut corners to move you ahead but that will not help you pass the state requirements. As a healthcare worker for 13 years at one of the largest companies, I can assure you this is not the way to treat people, let alone patients. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I was given a refund for my fees. That was a fight but at least I received that. I can never get back my time or energy that was wasted. I am just glad that I saw this school for what they are sooner than later. It seems they can manipulate your grades or reason for termination at any given moment. That has an affect on your life and your goals. Thankfully, I am left with my wonderful, high paying job in health care, 401K, benefits, & my dignity. HORRIBLE!! Incompetent staff!! read more

It seems to me this college has no interest in getting new students. I have called NUMEROUS times and left messages, contacted them through their chat box and NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED BACK, EVER. They always say some one will contact me within one business day but they don't even ask for the phone number, so how are they going to call back? Full disclosure, I am not a student nor have I applied to the institution. I did, however, witness my best friend get deceived by this "school." The instructors were teaching way too many courses and thus not engaged in any one thing they were doing. Posted examples didn't match the assignment rubrics, APA style was mandated but the instructor didn't actually know APA and/or posted examples with incorrect APA formatting, and instructor response time was over 24 hours. I'm an instructor myself. I know bad instruction when I see it. This...was...embarrassingly bad. Five classes, while working, with no option to divide them up is way too much. My friend failed one course but she's required to take all 5 again to keep moving on. Please explain to me how this makes sense. If she's already demonstrated competency, what's the point in re-taking the courses besides giving more money to the institution? read more

I am writing this review well over a year after my son attended the medical assistant program here for only 5-6 months. He needed help with the tuition so I co-signed and every payment I help to make for him is a major eye-sore! He majored in Psychology in 2015 and was a caregiver in Los Angeles while attending here so that he could prepare for a career in our demanding medical field. He and I were both so elated that he would learn what he needs and eventually graduate here to move on into his career! However, he abruptly left and would not tell me why for months! He has since moved on to a great career in Behavioral Therapy for autistic children. He did a complete 360 after noticing how well the training and guidance to further better himself in this position. Now that I know the reason my son left this school, it leaves me feeling frustrated for students that may feel they are picked apart from the rest, or are bullied by other classmates and not getting the attention they need to succeed. The details are irrelevant because it was a personal decision based on the environment in his class. No one should feel overwhelmed by the idea of learning a new trade to have to tolerate the negative impacts that can greatly make some suffer! "What doesn't kill you, will make you Stronger", and that was the case with my son! Proud of him and for letting this go, but as his mother, and helping to pay the tuition he is stuck to pay for his time there, I have to at least leave this review so other potential students will understand that you may or may not be supported in all areas of your education here, so beware! read more
