Proof that I was a student for this college
    Anthony D.

I'm Anthony Dominguez. I enrolled in CBD College's Physical Therapist Assistant program, passed Module 1 with strong exam scores, and balanced full-time work while caring for my hospitalized mother. I brought proof of every absence and every shift. None of that mattered. Financial Aid? A wall of silence. Calls unanswered, emails ignored. When I asked for an out-of-pocket cost for semester two, nobody could even give a number. Instead of support, I got a cancellation notice. Academics? I did the work. I submitted every essay. My English instructor, Donna Madison Bell, failed me over petty formatting and quotation marks. That one class--on paper--gave the College the excuse they needed to drop me. The rest of the staff? Either unresponsive or buried behind ticket systems so slow the problems outlived the semester. Even with proof of my situation, they left me locked out of Module 2. Here's what it means in plain language: CBD College hides behind policy and "conditional enrollment" while students like me do the hard work. They take your aid, drag their feet, and when the system they built fails you, they blame you. I believe the way I was treated--while being a Hispanic student who delivered results--was discriminatory. That's my lived experience. Don't be fooled by the handful of kind instructors. I respect Jessica in Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology; she's solid. But one good teacher can't cover for an institution that cancels a student who passes exams and proves commitment. CBD College didn't remove me because I failed. They removed me because their own process failed. And now they've lost a determined, high-performing student. That's on them. I won't reapply. I won't recommend. There are stronger programs--American Career College, Stanbridge University--that respect hard work and answer the phone. If you value your time, money, and future, take your ambition elsewhere. CBD College had the chance to back a fighter. Instead, they made an enemy. Let's deal in facts, not marketing copy. You claim: "This process exists to ensure the program is a good academic and personal fit before any binding tuition obligations are incurred." If that were true, I wouldn't have been dropped after acing every exam (95 % and higher, 100 % on quizzes). Testing knowledge is the very definition of proving academic fit. Your own numbers prove me fit. Dropping a student who meets and exceeds those standards contradicts your statement outright. That's not a "fit evaluation," that's a policy weapon. You also claim: "No tuition charges... no tuition is ever collected until the student meets the conditional enrollment criteria." Yet financial aid staff (name on record: Callie Driskill) told me in writing that any aid already applied to Module 1 will not be reimbursed and that if a student is forced to repeat Module 1-- even if they didn't truly fail-- financial aid may not cover the second run. Translation: students are on the hook for up to $18,000 for general-ed classes before you ever grant "full" admission. That is money collected. Your own email trail proves it. So which is it? No tuition collected, or students risking $18k with zero guarantee of aid if you decide they must retake a module they already passed? Both can't be true. And here's the core issue you keep dodging: CBD College doesn't reward mastery of the material. It rewards ticking boxes inside an opaque policy. Teachers can fail a student over petty format quirks or simply poor instruction, and your system converts that into cash--forcing another paid module no matter how well the student knows the subject. That is discrimination by policy. To anyone reading: this isn't about one student's bad day. It's structural. You can ace every test, submit every assignment, and still be dropped because the College's bottom line wins over your education. CBD College isn't protecting students from "binding tuition obligations." It's creating them. That's the scam. -- Anthony Dominguez Former PTA student who earned 95 %+ on every exam and still got dropped

They mistakenly "keyed in"another students payment under my account and gave me an official receipt.

warning to everyone always double even triple check with your account with the financial aid department. People like sabrina DeGain, lisa reichstein are a few of many crappy financial aid workers who dont do their job right at all and you will end up suffering from their incompetence. they claim "this award" i was given was not their fault but a "software issue" meanwhile at this time sabrina admitted to mistakenly "keyed in" another students payment onto my account. clearly this proves she is not careful at all with students accounts it shows how this school mistreats and even carelessly handle these vital accounts. On top of that even AFTER signing and agreeing to making payments for this suspicious "reward" Sabrina DeGain continued to incorrectly input miscalculated and incorrect information on our contracts. So I am warning everyone THIS SCHOOL IS A BIG FINANCIAL AID SCAM. Always check the math! Whether math isn't your strong suit or not do NOT fall victim to their carelessness operation.

As a yelper here for over 13 years, I don't sugarcoat my words (or in my reviews), and I don't intend to do so here either. The USC program is rigorous and not for everyone. There were so many readings that I often genuinely wondered if it was even humanly possible to get through them all. Granted, I am a slow reader, and that certainly did not help. Beyond the beautiful campus and the prestige that comes with the school, more importantly know that there is no financial aid for tuition fees for master program. Education does not come cheap. Still I am grateful for the learning experience and for my many professors who were simply wonderful and amazing professionals. A big shout out to Dr. Julianna Kirschner, Professor Monica Koyama, Dr. Muthuswamy and Dr. Courtney Pade. P.S. In fact, I used to work with Eddie Tannenbaum who discovered Traveler (USC's Mascot) when he was a junior in 1961. The campus is beautiful and features several Romanesque Revival style buildings. A portion of the main campus was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The Coliseum is in walking distance. I've attended many football games here over the years and have seen Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez, & Matt Leinart play. I remember the glory days of Pete Carroll. Our favorite tailgate party is the one hosted by LAMBDA. They have a great DJ, delicious food, a premium bar, fun activities and, of course, fabulous attendees! This year we were treated to yummy eats from Bludso's BBQ & tasty treats by Ice Cream Occasions. When the party was over, we all headed to the Coliseum for the match between the Trojans & the Huskies. Sadly, we lost this game but we will continue to Fight On!

Dr. Ina played a huge role in my success throughout Terms 3 and 4. She challenged us to do our best, encouraged us to stay disciplined, and provided countless resources to help us succeed. Her passion for teaching is truly inspiring--you can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that enthusiasm motivates her students every day. A special thank you as well to Miss Karla for being such a supportive, approachable, and genuinely fun instructor. She created a positive learning environment that made even the most challenging days more manageable. One area where I believe ACC could improve is the clinical rotation assignment process. Students are not given the opportunity to choose their clinical sites, and commute times are often not taken into consideration. For example, some students who live in Pasadena were assigned to Santa Monica, while students who live near Santa Monica are assigned to Pasadena. Even got threatened to be sent to San Gabriel the next time I complained. While I understand that clinical placements depend on site availability and program requirements, a more thoughtful approach that considers students' commuting distances and personal circumstances would help reduce stress and improve the overall learning experience. Overall, I am grateful for the education, support, and experiences I gained throughout the program. Thank you to all the instructors who invested their time, knowledge, and energy into helping us become future nurses.

I am disgusted by their lies and awful things I have heard over the course of my studies. From dismissing hearing and mental conditions as an excuse to the administration staff telling teachers that they have to reach a certain pass rate by either failing students that deserve to go on or passing students that should have failed. I have witnessed clinical instructors teaching students while poking the patient with the same needle more than once which is a huge health violation. They prefer students not with healthcare backgrounds so they don't get called out for their lack of proper education. They promise resources and help to students that need assistance but to the students that reach out, are scolded instead for even working once or twice a week and dismiss their requests for assistance. Their remediation for failing a test is talking to students that are a class ahead of you to tutor you for an hour without bringing up the test or similar questions so all that's left for them to say is to read the book with outdated information that contradicts what we learn online or in person. They leave it up to the students to decide which source to trust which leads to constant mistakes that are never learned. I admit my flaws as a student. I have lived with hearing aids and when they were broken I got no assistance from the school. I will admit I scored 73% and 74% in med surg and pharm (passing grade is 75%). I take accountability for my own actions but my mistake was assuming the school would be responsible enough to do the same. After all their smiles and fronts they put up. Once you are admitted and you're financially tied to them, they don't care about you anymore so unless you have 100k to spare for nursing and no responsibilities as an adult to teach yourself. Avoid this school at all costs.

Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.
