They continue to say it's normal for AC units to stop functioning (keep in mind that this $6k unit is less than a year old) instead of actually fixing the root issue. Additionally, when they installed the unit they ruined our floors (pic attached) due to a sloppy installation job. Very disappointing. Sean found numerous issues which had occurred during the installation of the system by the other company - Tommy's Air Conditioning. He found several leaks around the unit, and discovered that there was almost NO Freon in the system. After 3 hours of work, Sean was able to certify that all of the issues were resolved. He not only cleaned the air conditioning unit, he also waxed it to help protect it from the sun. WE COULD NOT BE ANY MORE SATISFIED!!! WE ARE DEFINITELY USING MARTIN FROM THIS POINT ON. They installed a 4-ton unit, which multiple other air conditioning companies later confirmed was far too large for my space. Almost immediately after installation, my son and I started experiencing severe allergy reactions. Initially thinking it was mold, I had a UV light installed, but our symptoms continued to worsen. Further investigation revealed that the oversized unit caused excessive moisture buildup, leading to mold in the ductwork. I had to pay $6,500 to replace the ducts in my home due to the damage caused by mold. When I reached out to Koltec, the owner refused to take responsibility, stating it wasn't his problem and he would only assist with duct repairs for an additional fee. After further issues arose with the moisture damage, including peeling paint and baseboards, I requested that they replace the unit with the correct size, but once again, the owner refused to help. This company's poor installation has caused significant health problems, property damage, and financial strain. I am extremely disappointed with their lack of accountability and customer service. I would not recommend Koltec Refrigeration & Air Conditioning LLC to anyone.
