Original review in 2012: Henry came out Saturday morning to check our AC unit, which only 2 weeks after another company came to "fix" it has frozen up and stopped working again. Henry seemed extremely knowledgeable and explained what the problem was and what all of our options were very clearly. He did show up a little late, but in his defense our house is a bit hard to find. We've been in contact with him the past few days as we've been contemplating our options, and he has provided very helpful information every step of the way. Unfortunately it looks like we're going to have to replace the unit, but the prices we got from Henry were competitive, and we are confident that he and his team will do a great job. I'll post more after the job is done, but so far, we're very happy with Reliable AC!! Updated: first time, They were able to top our gas as the problem was that our ac unit was not pushing any cold air through our condo. We were satisfied with the quick fix. Second visit: Unfortunately it did not last, and it was said a leak formed after refilling the gas the first time. I am not sure if the unit was checked for a leak the first time. The company is charging over $1000 for a new copper coil repair and another gas refill. read more

I called Henry at Reliable Air Conditioning today around 11 AM to ask to see if it was possible to have one of his technicians come to my Miami Beach condo to take a look at my A/C unit leak. Henry said he could have a tech over to my condo after 12 PM. (This was great and such a quick response time!) And just as promised, Henry called me back around 12:30 saying the tech was on the way and would be there shortly. The tech (David) arrived with another worker and immediately figured out the problem and both workers were so polite and efficient. They figured out the problem and were in and out of my home in about 30-45 minutes. Reliable Air Conditioning is just that- RELIABLE! They were also very polite on the phone and in person. And their servicing prices were very reasonable. I've dealt with several contractors for A/C and appliance repair and I can tell you Reliable Air Conditioning is a God send! After calling 2 other companies (didn't show up and the other quoted an appt in 2 days) reliable came to the rescue within 2 hours...3 times the charm! We noticed our a/c died the night prior and we were glad to not have to suffer another warm Miami night without a/c. Within 2 hours of calling, 2 techs came over and assessed that our compressor had reached its limit. We were charged 3k for a 4ton carrier compressor plus installation which seemed expensive but considering how quick and "reliable" they were the premium seemed appropriate. Obviously I could've shopped around and looked for a cheaper service and maybe saved several hundred dollars but if you don't have the luxury of time and want good, efficient, pleasant service then just give them a call. read more

Ok the owner didn't communicate much but the nice installers came and we agreed to adjust the price back to a fair price for the device. 3200. I paid with a credit card and the issue is resolved. I am happy. The aircondition is loud but I will move it to the garage later. This way they don't lose money and I don't overpay for this. An ok outcome. The installers are very very nice people btw. They cheated me in multiple ways. 1- they OVERCHARGED me 3000 dollars over what competitors charge. 6000 dollars for a 2900 unit!!! The owner suggested to price match this when he was trying to resolve the matter. But he wanted me to keep the unit!!! 2- they installed a LOUD unit that was not equivalent to my Amana unit. There are apparently step motors vs other motors. The machine is so loud you can't sleep at night. 3- they installed a brand called Goodman that I never heard of. I only figured this out when they left, when they handed me the insurance thing. 4- they told me my ac unit had a dead motor that would cost 1400. Facing such a huge bill, I thought I would replace the AC. Apparently the warranty was void also since it was 5 years old. They said it only had 5 year warranty. In reality if you register online it becomes 10 years. So I am thinking maybe my warranty was maybe not over and maybe my motor was not dead either. The owner tried to push me to keep the loud device, or leave me with no AC. I told him why don't you get me a less loud machine and I'll be happy to buy that from you similar to my Amana. He said there aren't any devices on the market. And that loud Goodman machine that he charged me double was the only machine out there!! I told him maybe we can install that later to the gym, but next to the bedrooms it's so loud.. he said he didn't want to resolve it this way. He then told me I am dishonest and so on. Their crew is really kind and polite. They worked hard and fast. But When I asked for their phone numbers they didn't want to give it. And they also took my Amana device without my permission. So overall I am at a loss. They can be doing honest business and work this fast and be successful. I don't know why they are resorting to dishonest business practices. I am now waiting for their owner to get back to me on when they are gonna take the AC removed. So I can be done with this company. I may update the review if there is anything that turns around. by installing a 6000 dollar unit that actually is advertised as a 2900 dollar unit. read more

Reliable Air Conditioning lives up to its name, and I'm incredibly grateful. My a/c unit's fan decided to go kaput overnight on a Saturday, and with temps in my apartment steadily rising toward 80 degrees, a time-sensitive work project that had to be completed from home, and no availability to meet repairmen during the week, I needed immediate service on a Sunday afternoon. I quick Google search led me to Reliable. They answered the phone immediately, and committed to coming out to my apartment in about an hour (and gave me an hour-long window for their tech's arrival). The 2 techs came by in the first half of that window, quickly diagnosed the problem (the motor/fan just gave out and needed to be replaced), confirmed they had a replacement part at their shop, quoted me a price, including labor, and confirmed that the part came with a warranty. The part had to be brought over from their shop, but once in hand, they installed it in a matter of minutes. As I sit here writing this review, I'm enjoying a steady stream of cold air blowing on me, and could not be more pleased with Reliable's service and professionalism. Reliable is truly reliable! Soo... why was it so hot in the house? No clue... but Reliable AC did! I contacted them after 10:30 pm and had a reply around 11:00 pm! As agreed, they were at my house the next morning to diagnose the issue. Thankfully it was a relatively easy and semi-inexpensive fix! It required that I turn off my unit for a few hours before they could repair the issue. The technicians left and returned a few hours later to complete the task. While they were out, Henry called to provide an updated ETA. VERY MUCH SATISFIED! Was looking to have a couple air conditioners replaced. When I called and spoke with them, they could not be more disinterested in helping. They wouldn't help recommend the type of air conditioners to get, they couldn't tell me when they might be able to help. They sent one text saying they would follow up - they didn't - despite several attempts to get back in touch with them. Just really poor customer experience. They came and simply vacuumed the drain charged an absolute fortune and took advantage because my house sitter was there and left the place a complete mess. I called when i got home to find out what the deal was and they were first very rude and then never responded back to me. Looked at unit 2. Put his hand on a component of the AC He then says it's working and there is nothing he can do. Then charges $65 for the "service call" and leaves. He did say to call back when the problem occurs again. So, $65 for someone to do absolutely nothing. After suffering a week of stifling humidity and waking up everyday drenched in sweat, I finally sucked it up and yelped for a decent AC repair company. Despite it being Sunday night, Henry and Henry Jr. came out to assess the situation. They were courteous, professional, and patiently explained every step of the evaluation and repair process. They were up front with the potential costs, never pushy, and issued a complete receipt with a 1 year warranty on all parts. They ended up installing a brand-new capacitor for $350 (the $65 assessment fee is waived if they end up making repairs). From start to finish, the entire visit took less than an hour (including the time we spent pleasantly chatting). I sit here now relishing the return of sweet, sweet cold air. This situation made me grateful for 2 things- 1) Efficient and friendly AC professionals such as this lovely father-son duo who work on weekends. 2) That my AC chose to break down in January instead of July, when I would surely be discovered fried to crisp instead of merely being sticky and uncomfortable. read more

My AC had been down for a couple weeks, I wasn't aware because I was out of town, and when I came back, I was stuck in this South Florida heat for a few days. I called Henry at 10:35 pm on a Tuesday and told him my problem and the urgency in which I needed to have this fixed. Wednesday morning at 8:30 am Henry's team of Gabriel and Franco came out to assess the problem. Their assessment of the old unit and compressor was spot on. -- Side note to others having their ACs fixed, there are some technicians who replace your new components with old components, or they will give you new components but scratch out the serial numbers, so the warranty is voided , so you have no choice but to call that person to fix your broken AC. When your ACs are being replaced, make sure you are given the documentation to register it for the warranty from the manufacturer and also ask to take a look at the new parts being replaced and take pictures of the serial numbers-- Reliable Air Conditioning made sure to point out every step of the process to me, let me watch at all their movements and changing of parts and kept me in the loop the whole time. Best of all, they were timely, reasonably priced, I know people are going to find others who are a couple hundred less, but given their quality of service, I had no problem with their price. They never made a move forward with any progress until I agreed to move onto the next step and what the potential cost would be. They installed a digital thermostat and replaced and cleaned out all the pipes and old parts. It's been a week so far and I have had no problems with anything...So happy I went with this team of experts. Henry, Franco and Gabriel are all class people and part of a great company. read more

So in a panic I looked on yelp to find an AC repair for Sunday. I thought my AC was leaking since the building told me it most likely froze and was in the process of defrosting. The problem was it was leaking to the retail store underneath my apartment. I called and Henry picked up and told me they would be out shortly. This was the first person I called after my regular AC guy told me I had to wait until tomorrow and this was the only place open on a Sunday. In spite of being short a tech, he came out immediately to resolve my issue. There is a higher premium for coming last minute on a Sunday, but I can understand that. If you go through with the repair, the service/diagnostic fee is waived. I've had issues with my AC a few times in the last year and the last guy patched up minor issues without really suggestion a more efficient option in the long run. This company didn't try to pitch me a new unit like my last guy though there is no denying I am replacing old parts as they break. In the end, the overall unit could last a month to ten more years - that remains to be seen. All I know is last night was absolutely miserable and now this place feels like Antarctica. read more

A few weeks after another A/C guy "fixed" our system, it broke again on a hot night when we were expecting an overnight guest. (!) We made a call, and were pleased when they were courteous enough to call to say they were running late. They showed up only about 15 minutes behind schedule, and quickly began inspecting...they identified that the capacitor (which I thought was a made-up word) had nearly burst, and removed the broken part, installed a new one, and kindly, patiently answered all my uneducated A/C questions. :) I am so thoroughly impressed by this experience! Last night I hear dripping. What now house? Why! Why are you leaking and damaging my beautiful floors. I follow the sound to the AC and see small ocean that has filled the floor and damaged my wood. I empty out the water dry everything up as much as I can and start looking for an AC repairmen for the next morning. Within 45 minutes of calling reliable, Henry is at our door and fixing the clog in my AC's drain pipe. He gets everything fixed and cleared. He also explained how to prevent it in the future from happening.
