Very unsafe parking lot at cbx. Way overpriced and sketchy with no security. They charge like $30 a day only so your car can get vandalized and stolen. When I reported it to cbx I got no response from them. I'm going to look into other nearby parking lots that have security I'm sure I'll pay 3x less in the process.

No better way to get here

There is no better way to get to the Tijuana airport than to go through here, cbx. It's clean, fast, and the only real problem is parking. We paid online so we had a good space and didn't have to Park a half mile away or pay an obscene amount. Very clean, very efficient, I really like going through here.

So easy to use if you want to fly out of Tijuana, Mexico, but enter through San Diego. There are many parking lots to choose from if you'll be leaving your car parked there. Lot J is the cheapest, but also the farthest. You can drive right up to the beginning of the terminal drop off for CBX, and pull up to the left for valet too. Once you enter the building, you will need to show your passport. If you're staying 7 days or more, you will need to pay for a permit. The attendants will ask you when you get through the bridge, and they'll show you to the pay pads. Next is where your passport will be stamped, and up the escalators, or elevators, then finally you get to the airline counters to check in bags if needed. The building is very clean, organized, and has plenty of restrooms. I'm totally gonna go this route again next time I'm vacationing anywhere in Mexico.

We felt safe and secure when we got to this place... it takes you directly into the Mexico airport after you get through security and it was easy to get through. It was an extra 50 bucks each person but I recommend it. We parked our car in the lot for the weekend while we went on a "Cabo trip with our Day Ones"... It was a lot of fun... And safe which is why it took 5 years to convince us to go... CBX made us feel comfortable

Located off the 905 freeway. The Cross Border Xpress (CBX) is a pedestrian bridge linking San Diego directly to Tijuana International Airport. It has become super convenient for our family trips specifically to Mexico. They offer plenty of parking options depending on your needs, whether you are staying for a couple of hours or multiple days. You can even reserve your parking spot online ahead of time. If you just need to wait, there are free street/cell phone parking spots, but someone must remain in the vehicle. Just like a regular airport, you can also easily drop off or pick up travelers at the main entrance. The departure and arrival areas are conveniently located adjacent to each other. I love that the arrival side features plenty of eateries and even a Starbucks to grab a quick caffeine fix. Both the restrooms and the lobby are consistently clean, and the lobby offers plenty of seating. You'll also find scales to weight your luggage before checking in if needed. The area feels safe. Overall, we always have a great experience at CBX.

They emailed my verified purchase after I sent request to find my passes. Still don't see on the app for some reason but thanks to the help team for following up !

Ask the Community - CBX Cross Border Xpress

I purchased round trip tickets the wrong direction. Since the tickets are good for a year I am wondering if I can use them still (SD to TJ and back). CBX support has not responded to my email inquiry. Any experience in this area?

Hi I just made this mistake too omg. Did they make you buy new tickets with the correct entrance?

Hi! I accidentally selected "7am" for my return time to pick up my car at the CBX parking structure, but meant to select 7pm. Is this an issue? Can I change my return time?…

Hey I have the same issue. Did they still allowed you to park?

Anyone know a very safe place to park nearby that we can leave our car and uber to CBX? We don't want to take a chance trying to park at CBX. Happy to pay but want safety (e.g. lights, gate, attendant).

Lion Parking is good, it is gated and they will take you to CBX.

Can I use CBx if I am taking my underage 5 year old son to his flight out of Tijuana? Only he is flying out of TJ

I think how it's gonna work is you would be required to purchase two CBX tickets. One way for your underage five year old son so you can walk him to Tijuana and get him checked in and situated but you would have to make sure you buy round-trip…

Can I use sentri to cross the CBX into Tijuana and back?

Sentri is for the vehicles not for CBX. Two different systems.

Can I use the CBX with a US PASSPORT CARD?

YES! I do so in both directions at least once every month. It's MEANT for land (and sea) crossing to Mexico and Canada - and using the CBX bridge is crossing the border by land (since your flights are to and from Tijuana).

Can u cross cbx without passport?would a real ID suffice?

I would say no, because I have the passport card and that is not considered appropriate documentation. You definitely need a passport.

My husband's passport expires in August 2023 but we are flying to Mexico next week 3/23/23. The FMM Form that you are to fill out online is saying that it cannot be entered because it will expire before 6 months from the date. Can we still go?

If you are passing through CBX, you can fill out the form there - before crossing. And if you forget and nobody stops you or asks if you did, you can fill it out on the other side.…

Parking rez for $27/day Premium Parking & Lots 1-3 have 100's openings for last Wed in April. Since it's after the spring break rush, are the FCFS $19/day Lots A-E pretty open? Leaving car for 1 week last wk of Apr. Should I make rez or try FCFS lots

I fly out of CBX every month. There has always been parking in the dirt lots.

Can Sentri be used to cross through CBX into the airport?

Sentri can be used to cross back into the USA through CBX. Only a Mexican passport or resident card can expedite the immigration line into Tijuana airport.

Hello I have been trying to get parking reservations for 2 weeks and I keep getting try another date. Can I do walk up, thank you?

Yes, you can drive there and park in one of the many lots.

I'm a us citizen planning to cross thto Tijuana airport but I don't have a passport will I still be able to cross through cbx?

Are you going to Tijuana from tha states?

Can i use my passport card to get back into the US?

    Yes you can!

Is there a phone number for CBX?

Hello, unfortunately we do not have a customer line at this moment. Please email us at support@crossborderxpress.com with your questions or comments. Thank you!

Can I use Mexican birth certificate to cross CBX?? Do I need to show additional information at CBX…

No, as long as you have a MEXICAN PASSPORT OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE, you are good to go. There are…

Can I use my CBX pass multiple times within a year? Or only once?

    Once

I have a flight out of the Tijuana airport on the morning of Friday, April 15th. Is there a good possibility that I will not find parking on Lots 1 to 3 or even on the additional gravel parking lots?

Hard to predict, but I would say yes very good possibility that parking will be difficult. This is Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Mexico which is the busiest holiday other than Christmas. I would suggest getting dropped off or Uber/Lyft.

Are luggage carts available? And will I be able to cart all my luggage across the bridge to baggage check?

There are self service luggage carts that are allowed until some point , then baggage porters from the Tijuana airport are available to help you for the rest of the way. (remember the tip money) If not using valet and traveling with someone, drop…

Many posts about long lines and people missing flights. For going S/B through the CBX, how early should I arrive to park, get through the CBX, check bags at the TJ airport, etc... In order to make my flight? Flight leaves TJ on a Tues at 11:40am.

Thank you for contacting us Rob R. Like any other airport, holidays are busier and your crossing times will depend on several factors. We suggest contacting your airline for a recommendation. To save time at the Terminal, please arrive with all…

Does the CBX parking lot have charging stations for electric vehicles?

I didn't see any on my visit.

The security area is in a huge vaulted area so it doesn't feel cramped at all. If anything, it feels warm & inviting due to all of the glass windows. Our trip through it was quick due to it being early in the morning, but I would imagine it would be a nice place to have to stand in a line while waiting to clear the detectors/bag x-rays. Once inside, things are clearly labeled and easily laid out. There are plenty of places to grab some food should you be hungry, but they're mostly chain places. For the kids they even have a few Lego vending machines (as of July 2026) should you want to give them activity to pass time in the airport or the flight itself. I wanted to speak as much Spanish as possible but I found most employees there spoke great English so I wouldn't worry about there being a language barrier that could prevent you from moving about & getting to where you need to be. I also want to say that on our return trip back, by the time we got off the plane, went to the restroom, and got to baggage claim, our bags were not only there, they had been taken off the belt by an employee & put off to the side together with everyone in our party. It was one of the fastest bag retrievals I've ever had in my decades of flying. I was sho happily shocked. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish they had some more restrooms/that they weren't tucked away on other floors or in the corners. We were a family with 3 small kids and having to walk long distances just to use the restroom felt a bit laborious at times. Needless to say, I will have no qualms flying out of, in to, or through the Tijuana airport. It was absolutely pleasant.

I usually only see 1-2 servers and another person by the bar, so it gets hard to flag someone down as it gets crowded. I always tip here because the staff are speedy and get you extra water, refills etc. This is way better than the Aspire lounge in San DIego - that lounge gets a 1 star. TJ lounge is more like 3.5. Drop off by our Uber driver was super easy, and we just had a brief walk to find the SW check in area which has high ceilings and is very bright. There was a short line but we were quickly helped. Then we breezed through security with TSA PRE, and had a five minute walk to gate 107. Even though our flight was delayed by an hour, we still got here realllllllly early, so I had some time to explore the terminal. Firstly, the bathrooms are huge & really nice. The stalls have plenty of space for luggage & belongings so you can maneuver & use the restroom comfortably. Big plus there! Secondly, I spotted at least five water bottle refill / water fountain stations which is always appreciated. Thirdly, there are a number of eateries, coffee shops (including Better Buzz & Lofty Coffee), bars, & stores available for your dining, drinking & shopping pleasure. Near the food court, there was also live music & a sampling station for some of the fun drinks that are offered in the terminal. I had a sample of the San Diego Sunset lemonade & it was so good! There's also a huge outdoor patio with various seating arrangements where you can enjoy your food, watch the planes or just relax. It is a great space! The gate areas are fine. They have a mix of typical chair seating with plugs, standup counter space, and low couches. Due to air traffic control delays, the gate areas have been very busy and crowded. There were cleaning folks in the bathrooms, but no cleaning folks monitoring the gate areas which I think is warranted, Also, there are no lounges yet in Terminal 1, so to access a lounge, you'd have walk to Terminal 2. That's a little bit of a bummer. I'm not sure if there are plans for a lounge here, but I hope there are... This was not a terrible place to spend a few hours waiting for our flight, and there were little touches here & there like the music & drink sampling that made this experience a little more enjoyable and less taxing.
