Very shady business . The driver (Eddy) stops at a protected crosswalk in front of Loews Resort in Coronado the didn't even look both ways and floors the gas pedal hitting me on my bike. I thought he was stopping to let me go. I suffered injuries to my knee and shoulder. He put me on the phone with the owner and she was like "don't call the police I'll take care of everything ." Now Carelyn the owner refuses to even admit there was and accident and refused any liability. We can't even find an insurance company for them . They may be self insured but this is no way to run a business. Clearly the driver was in such a hurry that he was ignoring anything in his path driving a 6000 pound vehicle. They did a great job of finding where I was before dawn in a very remote community! Carelyn met my plane and escorted me to my van so there would be no confusion while the airport was undergoing massive renovations. I took a short vacation to San Diego with my wife and two young daughters. We were arriving late at the airport late and I knew everyone would be tired so wanted to make the trip to the hotel not only easy but a little bit special. I booked a car online and expected the driver to be waiting at baggage claim as advertised. This was not the case. Not a huge deal...I called the company to make sure everything was still a go as planned. They had no record of my booking. I told them I booked and paid for it online, then the gal was able to see it and said a driver would be there in 14 minutes in a black van. Johnny, a burned out hipster peeled up in a twenty-some year old Caravan and...well, you can imagine how it went from there. My six year old honestly asked what language the man was speaking! It was a form of English she hadn't heard before. We held on for our lives throughout the ride and were beyond relieved to reach our destination. What I had hoped would be a nice, trouble-free, and maybe even impressive start to our trip turned out to be a stressful hassle. I do not recommend this service! read more

I scheduled an early morning pick-up the day before to be taken to the airport. 15 minutes after they were to have picked me up, I called and they said I wasn't even on their books. They sent a shuttle out and I made my flight. Thank goodness. However, the driver didn't bother to apologize for the error. When I asked a question that apparently had already been answered, the driver responded, "I already told you..." Excuse me, but have you ever heard of customer service? For my return, I scheduled an airport pickup and gave my flight arrival time. I was told to call when I got there and they would tell me where I could find the shuttle. When I arrived at the airport, I called and they told me that all of their shuttles leave at midnight and so no one was there. Couldn't they have told me this on the phone when I had arranged for them to take me home? Their service is very reasonable in price, but I have to say that they need improvement on scheduling and customer service. read more

Previous trip the driver arrived more than one hour early and told us that despite our reservation we could either leave way earlier than expected so he could pick up someone else or get a later pickup and miss our flight. We called the number for the front desk who gave us for a cab that had access on base. Were staying in Nas North island. We called and we're told ten minutes. Forty minutes later the cab showed up. Annoying. Then we get in the cab and he asked us if we know how to get there. I don't know? That's why i got a cab. So we give him the address, and he is driving while trying to figure out how his Google Maps work, driving about two miles an hour. Umm that's not safe. he's clearly annoyed that we cant tell him how to get there, and we end up using his phone to show him how to use the map app in order to get us where we're going. The cab drivers were very professional, fun, and gave great suggestions. I had left my phone behind in a cab where the cab driver tried to find us at the location, but no avail. He (Bill Hinkley) assured me that the phone was found and we would work out something to get it returned to me. Supervisor Devina spoke with me multiple times to ensure that all information was accurate and was very professional in handling the matter of my forgetfulness. She really went above and beyond to make sure I received my phone. This team really created a memorable experience with something that can be frightening considering how important technology has become in our lives and took it serious enough to make sure their branding's integrity held up. I called the day before to request a ride from my home in Carlsbad, California to the San Diego airport the following morning. I asked for the shuttle to pick me up at 8:00am. My flight left at 9:30am. I told the dispatcher my flight left at 9:30 am and the dispatcher confirmed that the shuttle would be there at 8:00am, he confirmed my name and telephone number. At 7:48am I took the trash up to my barrel and saw the Coronado Livery shuttle car parked in our parking space. The driver was outside the car and identified himself and said he had an elderly woman in the car who was "Grumpy." He told me he had been sent to pick her up at 7:30 and then to pick me up at 8:00am. I told the driver I needed about 5 minutes to go back downstairs to get my suitcase, turn off the lights and lock the doors and windows. He said, "No problem." I went back downstairs, got my bag, turned off the lights, locked the doors and windows and went back upstairs. It was exactly 7:57am. The shuttle was gone! I called the dispatcher who told me the driver had called him because I was not at the car and the dispatcher told the driver to leave! I told the dispatcher what had happened and that I was upstairs and ready to go before 8:00am, that the driver had told me "no problem," just a few minutes earlier, and that he did not even call (he had my number and a phone in his hand when I saw him) before he left me there. The dispatcher said I was to expect the driver between 7:45 and 8:00am, but he never told me that condition when I made the reservation, and he certainly never told me the driver would leave before 8:00am. He was nasty and hung up. I called back and asked him to tell the driver to come back and he told me he would not, and that I would have to wait for the driver to take the other passenger to the airport, then return to Carlsbad to get me and take me to the airport. That was impossible because my flight left at 9:30am and there was no time to do that. I had no way to get to the airport on such short notice and had to re-book my flight for later that afternoon at an additional cost of $266.00! I told the dispatcher I was going to report him to the BBB and the State Attorney Consumer Protection Division and he said, "Go ahead, do it." Here is why: What I like about the service is simple approach, phone your service request, they do phones fast. When it comes to ride, They'll swing the islands 5-10 minutes (not like ALL other companies), if you want direct (exclusive ride) it's +10$ fee, from your zip code fare, and that's it. I usually phone in before departure, when get the luggage on arrival I catch the Coronado Livery van from Shuttle islands, Always pay 10$ extra for direct ride, and still it's 2.5 times cheaper than the cab to Carlsbad. Horrible service!! Driver wanted me to pay cash and got angry when I said I only had a credit card. Said it would be $55 to take me home. He had such a bad attitude I didn't tip him, just told him to run the card for $55. It was dark out. I signed the receipt. He then yelled at me for giving him no tip. I said "Here's a tip, ditch the attitude maybe you'll get a tip next time." But here's the best part: I get in the house and see he charged me $44 for the trip and put in a $11 tip!! (To total the $55 of original quote). I immediately called the company to tell them he was trying to rip them off and about his poor attitude, and aggressively trying to get me to pay cash. When we arrived at our destination, the driver said that he did not accept credit cards and insisted we give cash. When I said I didn't have that much, he grumbled that he would have to pay 10% service fee to the credit card company and reluctantly took out a mechanical hand swipe device and rummaged around for credit card slips, costing us time at the airport. He neither told us before we started nor was there any signage in the cab about cash-only policy. The charge did not show up on our statement for 5 days. Arrived at the airport for a Convention and was planning to take a $15 cab ride to the Convention Center. But this woman at a table/booth at the front of the shuttle car line waves us over and says she can get my friend and I to the Center for $8 each or $16. We were in a hurry, so we said yes. So the gal walks us over to a driver and shuttle van. Our mistake for not confirming with the driver how much the fare would be because when we arrived at the Convention Center it was $23. Have no idea if the driver was in on this ruse, he was nice and professional, but even after he supposedly called "someone" he still said it was $23. Coronado Livery Cab service has a great group of helpful employees. We are planning a wedding and Tina helped us through the process. They even drove the 24 passenger mini bus out to our house so we could make sure it would meet with our needs. Their prices are very reasonable, a real bargain, and with all the expenses of a wedding it was very nice to find an area where we could save a little money. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that they do not have a real 8 passenger limo. Try their airport service, it is lower than the competition. read more

I have used this company for many years, but I never will again after today. I made a reservation for an airport pickup from terminal 2. Upon arrival I was told by the dispatcher that the shuttle would arrive in 15 minutes. 35 minutes later the shuttle arrived. As we left the airport the driver got a cell phone call, which he took (no hands free device) and carried on a cell phone conversation while driving, I then discovered that they had raised the rates since last month- from $15 to $20. I will be walking across the street and catching an Uber from now on. At least they are on time and drive safely! read more
