I encountered a problem when I was making one of the 3D bead animals... So they have these 3D bead charms on display and you can buy the instructions and the beads. I got the chickie one. When I started making it, I realized that there were some missing beads! I re-did it multiple times to see if I was mistaken, but there I was again, stuck on the same step. I'm not one to raise much of a ruckus, so I'm just going to go back and buy more beads and maybe more instructions for other charms. Other than my missing beads, the sales people were friendly and even offered to help me if I got stuck. Horrible customer service every single time I've gone in(about 4 or 5 times). They are all doing their own thing, either on an iPad or chatting about random things rather than asking if we need help or even when we've asked for help. Each time I've asked for help they barely say anything and its like I'm bothering them. They totally ignore me every single time I'm there and it's like pulling teeth trying to ask for help. It's really sad because they'd probably get a lot more customers if they weren't so rude. A lot of times I want to go in there because they have a lot of stuff, but I don't because I hate how they treat me. read more

It felt like we drove all over Hawaii looking for a place to do wedding invitations for my brother's wedding, all the while this place was right under our nose. Walked in and they had a separate room that had tables and chairs for us to sit down. It was a room filled with wedding favor decorations &also had binders full off different invitations. Val was so patient with us trying to play around with ideas and numbers to try and fit our budget. Debbie &her husband were awesome about communicating so consistently no matter how much I bugged them or how many changes I made. I never had to wait a full 24 hours for a response &after finalizing everything it was done and ready to pick up within a couple days. We did assemble it ourselves which Val guided us through. In 2001 we lived on the island for a year and I learned of this store. I love love love it! It is a bit overwhelming at first, but they have more selection than large stores and the gals who work there know their products. We vacation often in Hawaii and everytime I'm on Oahu,on my to do list is a visit to Creations By You. I even have friends who have visited the store with me and always ask after Val and Debbie. worst customer service...ever. not even kidding...or exaggerating. went there yesterday and I was the ONLY customer in the store. there were 3 employees there..2 sitting on the floor and 1 standing behind the counter. no one acknowledged me when I walked thru the door (even with that annoying bell that goes off when the door opens/closes), nor did any of them acknowledge me or ask me if I needed help the entire 15 minutes I was in the store. they just kept chatting away as if I didn't exist. unless I'm feeling crafty and in the mood to be ignored, you can best your last dollar that I won't be back ever. read more

I had to practically beat someone over the head to get some attention. They ignore you until you go up to the counter and wave them down. They act as if you are bothering them when you need some help on the floor and they don't like to answer more than one question. read more

I came into the store to purchase paper for my invitations. I'm assuming the lady that assisted me was the owner or manager. I just have to say, she didn't seem very personable at all. I asked her if she carried a specific item and when I showed her a sample of an invitation that I had, it appeared to me that she didn't seem to care. My fiance was also with me and he saw the same thing about her. Its like if you ain't buying stuff from their store, they won't give you the type of service that everyone talks about. I say, if you can get it a whole lot cheaper and with better service, shop elsewhere...don't get me wrong, the store has alot of great stuff but c'mon this ain't the only store on the island for all your crafty to wedding needs...you can find so much with online shopping.... read more

I've been visiting Creations By You for 16 years. I live off island but make an effort to stop by every time we are on Oahu. The whole crew has great passion for their product. The store isn't big but the selection is better than anywhere I've been. Val and Deb make me feel so welcome every time I visit. First off, this place has the largest selection of paper and ribbon. My husband and I are from the mainland and we searched every paper and ribbon store in our area and beyond and could not find what we were looking for. On a trip back home to Hawaii we stopped at creations by you and found the perfect paper for our invitations and ribbon for our favors. We also bought our favor boxes there. Our invitations, table numbers, table tents, menu cards and candy bar signs were everything I dreamed of and more. They also have swarovski crystals in every size and color. I put those things on everything for my wedding. People loved Debbie's creations so much that several friends have asked me to help with things for weddings and parties. I always go back and find exactly what I need and get tons of free ideas too. I couldn't say enough about this place. read more

So happy that my sister came across CBY while searching for places for invitations supplies. I would totally recommend this place to others. When we found out that the initial invitation style I wanted came out to a high price, I started to stress out because I couldn't decide on another design, but Debbie immediately threw in ideas to help lower the cost instead of insisting of taking the expensive route. She shows that she wants best for customers without making them spend so much. I finally made a decision and She even made sample cuts of how the sizes for the invitations from the base cover, wrap, insides, and rsvp cards to bring home. The next day I called Debbie and told her I had decided that I wanted to make the invitations bigger than the original size but I wasn't sure if it would fit the bigger envelope they had. Once again Debbie came to the rescue and measured everything to fit the bigger size envelopes and made new sample cut outs of how I wanted it to be and had them ready the same day. After my order for the base cover came in, She had scored them so I didn't have to do it or have the print shop do it. Also, knowing that the envelope size were being changed, I'm so thankful that Debbie allowed me to do an exchange and pay the difference instead of having to keep and pay in full. When I first walked in it felt like I discovered a treasure chest. There were tons and oodles of ribbon to look through. My fiancé and I were looking for the finishing touches for our wedding invitations and wished we thought of here earlier. The staff was so helpful in showing us different ribbon options and asked great questions about what vision I had for my invitations. We were looking for envelopes and the woman helped me pick out a beautiful glistening blue envelope that complimented my ribbon choice perfectly. I was impressed when she snipped a little piece to see how it would look against our invitation. You won't get that service from ANY craft store. She helped us to figure out how much ribbon we needed so didn't have to buy the entire spool. She also gave us a suggestion to punch holes to tie the ribbon bows easier. We were grateful that when she was ringing me up, she asked if I had a hole puncher? We responded no and that we planned to stop at Longs/Walmart after. She said oh no you don't want to punch holes too big and showed us. 1/8 punch. Thank goodness! I would've been so devastated at home with huge gaping holes in our invitations. Overall this is a crafters haven to inspire and let your creativity run wild. Even if you think you don't have a creative side, I'm sure they would help to point you in the right direction. Creations By You is the best for all your wedding needs (and any big or little craft projects you desire!) they helped me a lot through the wedding process and helped to make my wedding perfect. Debbie has such a good eye and knew how to match my colors and look I was going for. I started with ordering my invitations from them and went back countless times! They have good quality products and fair pricing. Debbie was great to work with and you can assemble yourself to save some money. Debbie will teach you how to put everything together and figure out how to make it look great. I also ordered my favor boxes/tags, table numbers/seating arrangement cards and ring pillow. I should've made a guest book too. They also are great for jewelry and Bruiser (sp?) was easy to work with to help create my wedding necklace (from a picture idea) and bracelet which came out beautiful. I had so many compliments on my necklace! Also they are willing to work with you and make sure you're happy and have everything on time. If there's a mistake with your order, Debbie quickly fixed it without question. I would highly recommend them!! WOW...I read all the comments before posting and I couldn't believe how many ppl commented about bad customer service. I hesitated to even walk in the store fearing that prices were higher than another craft store on Mapunapuna, but I was pleasantly shocked to find out they were waaay cheaper. As for customer service, I had a great experience not once but twice. I was acknowledged as well as helped with a project I wanted to do on my own. I was guided and given advice, No pushy sales and was given a wealth of knowledge on how to accomplish my project. HELPFUL and courteous. I was overwhelmed at first thinking I would not be able to bling anything, but with their guidance and suggestions I have started my project and I can't wait to finish it. I'll definitely be back and so glad I didn't have the experience as others did or I would have sucked it up and paid the higher price at the other store, they have great customer service there, but I think I will stick with CBY, I'm plenty satisfied with how I was treated.
