As a notary, it's always nice to find a place that offers so many items I can actually use. This warehouse is packed with all kinds of office supplies--seriously, if you need it for your office, it's probably there. I spent entirely too long in there looking at everything... Way. Too. Long. Service at the pohukaina st, office equipment and furniture area is not very helpful, the person is more interested in sitting at the desk and using his iPhone, than trying to help customers, we were looking around looking at different chairs and desk, but he just ignore us, so we had to go up to him and say excuse us do you carry this desk? Aloha, I've been a Fisher Hawai'i buyer for the last 30 years & today's experience with a manager named Milly at the Māpunapuna location was not a good experience at all. As I approached the counter she kept saying to her employee is this the guy over three times really loud & rude, while doing the transaction she never looked my way or gave any acknowledgment of me as a customer, so upon her finishing I told her thank you very much & to have a nice day but all she did was turn her back & walk away like I didn't say anything to her. This store is so huge inside with a mishmash of fun office supplies, snacks, Knick knaks and other things you never knew you needed until you entered the store. On a recent trip to purchase paper I ended with two large bags of items that were nice to have because I hadn't seen it in a while. Prices are a little higher but the selection is varied with many choices. I asked for help finding paper and was led to a large area with every type of paper imaginable. Employees were helpful and cheery. Fisher had gift baskets, tiny office Christmas desk trees, and so many different kinds of Japanese snacks. If you need any office supply item and can't wait for Amazon this is really your only choice. Office Max and Office Depot came and went. Fisher just chugged along. It's a Hawaii staple. Kudos that they do not price gouge. Graph paper book, a ruler and 3 orbs came out to less than $8. Kinda unbelievable. Their processes are stuck in the 80s however. It took them 5 minutes to look up the price of a pen based on a book of pictures of all their pens. LOL read more

Called to see if they sold hot glue guns, they answered the phone on the first ring. Jason answered and was super helpful, checking to make sure they had them in stock and giving me the prices for the two options they had. Price was competitive to what I saw online at target. When I arrived to the store I was looking in the glue/ glue stick area and didn't see the hot glue guns an associate saw me looking around and walked me to the correct section. I haven't been here in a very long time! I needed items for a two year planning for one of two nonprofits. Busy, busy! I used to handle one, but here I am saving another from going under. Desperate times call for stepping up to prevent a well needed organization. Additionally they are near me since I moved to Kaka'ako. I needed an easel which are expensive, but found a somewhat solid, not too heavy aluminum one. No matter outside or inside, it wouldn't fall over that easy like very light ones! But it was the floor model. They had to search in the back for another one. Cost? $92. However, the black color one, same thing was $136? That's a great disparity. But through all this...a part time cashier, Aunty Edith was making sure I get it and called for help to search for it. She is friendly, funny, ringing up post it's, flags, all my gel pens, flip chart, and markers. I requested for invoice besides a receipt. I helped her walk through it together and figured it out. We were laughing as we blurted out remarks. She is such a joy. Even when two lines were backing up, the third cashier put a closed sign on her side. She sent customers to third cashier to ring up, only to be rejected. She literally pulled the sign from third cashier and told her to ring up customers and help. They charged me 15 cents for a bag that I DID NOT ask for and they didn't ask me either! So I went back and told the cashier "You might as well give me a bag since you charged me for one!" She just smiled and said "Oh! I guess I accidentally pressed the 'bag' button!" My question is...how many times do the cashiers charge customers for bags and not give them one? 15 cents will add up to maybe a couple dollars every day. Just sketchy to me. Wow! I haven't been here in years. Glad to see they're still in business and still the amazing store that I remember them being. From office supplies to art supplies they have it all. And the best part is that it's at an amazing price. Hard to find or Japan only items can be found here sometimes. But there's always some sort of sale. Be sure to check their Instagram. As a kid growing up I recall my family shopping at local favorite Long's for school supplies. We used to glance through the bi-weekly newspaper ads to see which supplies were needed for back to school. This was a ritual at our home just as summer was coming to an end. However, when I graduated from college and entered the work force, I find myself patronizing Fisher Hawaii (FH) for personal and work related supplies rather than shopping at Long's. Located in Kakaako near the federal building and Restaurant Row, FH is a convenient store offering a large range of supplies. Personal, business, office and school supplies - you name it. FH is basically a warehouse and very old school. The atmosphere may seem a little dingy but it's well air-conditioned. Every so often I make my way here to pick up supplies as I appreciate the large selection and decent quality. With many aisles in the store it can be overwhelming trying to locate what you want. But if you see an employee wearing their signature royal blue polo shirts, flag one of them down if you need assistance finding a particular item. They do have sales and can find their ads in the paper. The prices are very reasonable which makes me a repeat consumer when I need supplies. During the the graduation season, as you walk in you'll find ribbon and artificial leis and ribbon/yarn supplies that you can coordinate with that graduate's school colors. They have their own private parking lot that can get full at times. Street metered parking also available. As you stand in line waiting at the cashier section, I often find myself checking out the racks of assorted Asian snacks that are priced well. Overall, a great place to pick up supplies where you'll have a large variety to select from at reasonable prices with helpful staff on the floor. read more

Three and a half stars. The store isn't fully stocked but I found a few items I needed. The prices are a bit over the top and even the cashier was surprised on some of the prices as to how expensive they have gotten. I asked someone for help and he helped me find the pens I needed. Then I was left on my own to find what I needed and that was perfect. The woman that helped me at the check out line wasn't too cognizant of how things worked. When I returned something she also asked me to go to another cashier because I had to punch in my credit card? I really don't think she knew how to do returns. Also when she asked for an override from a manager the manager came with such displeasure. It's not fun to see from a customer's perspective. I just seem to feel that nobody in there is having fun working there. It's kind of sad. I used to love this store when I was younger and people were energetic and fun. Even if they're busy stocking or helping someone else, they always asked if we needed help and physically walked us to the aisle/area to find the items. Needed a few office supplies, and I immediately thought of Fisher Hawaii. Their "new" (to me) location on Pohukaina is smaller than their old location on Cooke Street. Same "semi-chaos" style of organization. Miss the customer support desk where you could ask what aisle a given item is located. Found my folders easily enough, but had a hard time finding the computer supplies. After an associate pointed it out, I got them. Total time- less than 15 minutes. Did you guys know that Fisher Hawaii sells furniture? I did not know. Wish someone had told me sooner. It would have definitely saved me a lot of time and money(gas) going all over the island looking for home office furniture. I mean, I could've gone to the nearest office depot but then I'd be spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Plus, the selection that office depot had was very weak. Nothing much really. Luckily, I was in Kakaako and decided to check this Fisher Hawaii out randomly. I've always seen it from the outside but always thought it was just another abandon building in the boonies. Can't help, it isn't in the best location...but hey it works. This Fisher Hawaii is huge. A lot larger than what I'm used to (Downtown Fisher). They pretty much have everything here. Pens, papers, boxes, tape, planners, desks, tables, calculators, etc.. If I was a teacher, I'd say this place was heaven. I finally found an office chair that I wanted and thought they were going to give it to me as is, but apparently they had a brand new one, boxed and ready to be picked up at the Mapunpuna location. So far, it was a little struggle putting the chair together, but now that's done, I'm loving it. Woohoo to saving hundreds. read more

I was up at 1am, watching something on tv when an ad caught my attention. "Masks available" it said. What? Masks? I've been looking for masks since January with no success and ended up asking a friend to make me some cloth ones. I put the info in my phone and decided to check it out the following day. This was my first time going to this office supply store. It was packed with the usual office supply items, but they also had toilet paper! I haven't been able to buy toilet paper in 3 months. They also had tiny bottles of hand sanitizer - at 1.87 these were a bit pricey, but definitely good to have. I finally was able to buy toilet paper, masks, a box of gloves, and some hand sanitizer. They also had bleach and industrial cleaners available (I already had those, so I didn't buy more because I'm not a hoarder). The customer service here was excellent and everything was easy to find. I was also able to pick up birthday and graduation cards for 99 cents which is an incredible bargain. There was no line, and I was in and out in 30 minutes. What a wonderful place! read more

My pops was looking for some fasteners, as he keeps paperwork for his records on his building management job. He had gone to Longs Drugs, Walgreens, & Target, but had no luck in finding what he was looking for, so he asked me if I could help him get the fasteners. First thing that came to my mind was - "Fisher Hawaii", as Fisher Hawaii is the kind of office supply store that carries almost anything that you can think of, (as far as office supplies goes). Located in the Kakaako neighborhood, Fisher Hawaii moved just one block mauka, from the original location where they use to be. Fisher Hawaii is just next door to a neighborhood park. SERVICE - Outstanding! Although this new location is much smaller then the original Fisher Hawaii location, they still pack a lot of office supplies here. Upon walking onto the store, a nice gentleman asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking for this particular fastener, & he knew exactly what I was talking about. Next thing ya know, he tells me go to "aisle #56, item is just next to the rubber bands". Whaaaaaaaaat? How does he remember that? Impressive I tell you, because as soon as I got to aisle #56, and walked past the rubber bands, sure enough the fasteners were there! Got what I needed, then I went back to thank the clerk who helped me......... headed straight for the cash register, paid my $8.45 at the counter, then slipped right out the door. Well I've been going to Fisher since their old location and still go there for many items I need. They pretty much have it all for an office or for your printer ink. lately because of Covid I've been going there to get masks. The parking is so so as it can get a bit crowded as the parking lot is on the small side but even so I've never had to wait for a parking spot. About 7 years ago, Fisher Hawai'i moved from their hot warehouse in Kakaako to this new location. This location doesn't seem as big as the previous location but this location has AC! That makes shopping here so much more comfortable. Fisher Hawai'i is the first place that pops in my mind when shopping for office, school and packing supplies. Even though Amazon is easier and more convenient shopping, I still come here for my office and packing supplies. It's a local business that we can support versus all the big name chain stores that come to Hawai'i. They have reasonable prices and a vast selection of items. Office furniture is also something they offer. I've picked up HON lateral file cabinets, desks, office chairs, etc over the years and they never disappoint. Their selection was greater in their warehouse but they still have quite a bit of options at this location. There is ample parking in the private lot and around the building. I don't come here often, twice a year at most. Usually, I'm here in July to get my son his back to school supplies. They have great prices. it's a one stop shop for school and office supplies. I like their new location much better. They moved across the street from where they used to be. The new location is air conditioned. It has a lot of parking. Most importantly, they caught up with the times. The cashiers are no longer ringing the items up by memory. It's all computerized and they just scan the bar code. I remember at the old location, sometimes you'd be in line for such a long time while they ran around doing price checks or searched for prices in the ads. The workers were helpful. They helped me to find items that were on the school supply list. Actually, they printed the school supply list out for me. You just tell them what school you need it for. While setting up our home office, we were noticed that we were nearly out of some basic office supplies (scratch pads and transparent tape). We were pleased to find this office supply store so conveniently located to us and just walked over to pick up these items. There is a parking lot facing the store but the asphalt is very uneven and even "bald" in some spots. But, hey, it's free parking for this store, only. This warehouse-type set up was well-lit and had uniformed employees roaming about and ready to assist the customers. Since it is an office supply store, the displays and inventory are organized and well-labeled with its corresponding identification and price. They offer office supplies, office equipment, art supplies, supplies for teachers and even snacks that one can place at one's desk. There is only one main entrance/exit so as you enter, you'll also notice a customer service stand along with check-out stands. We liked that as we entered, we were greeted with smile and asked if we were looking for something specific. Upon answering, customer service immediately gave us the aisle numbers to look for our products. It has paper, pens, pencils, envelopes, laminators, calendars, etc... I would go there to get my children's school supplies every August. They had the best prices! Fast forward to 2021, and I am now here buying my own school supplies for my classroom. The store is arranged and the aisles are marked. The staff seems to know where EVERYTHING is. (It's almost spooky.) You could spend hours in the place if you peruse the aisles. The pen aisle contains so many different types and lots of scrap paper for you to try them all.
