I met Cindy for the first time around 12+ years ago when I drove to her studio from San Diego for my first eyebrow microblading session. She is artistic and trustworthy and held my hand through the whole process. I held the mirror to my face and watched her every stroke and it changed my life. I no longer had to spend every morning drawing my eyebrows and no longer lived in fear of rain and humidity. I now get eyebrow microblading every 10 months and have gotten my eyeliner done too. My mom and friends have been to Cindy. I will say that I've been to other places in San Diego and Korea for convenience and have been unhappy. I find that Cindy is the most sensible, accommodating artist who understands my age, style, lifestyle and makes appropriate recommendations even if it's not profitable for her. That is why it was important for me to come back to her this week when I decided to get some hairline strokes which I was terrified to get. I was afraid that it would look unnatural and could not trust anyone but Cindy. She sat with me and talked about my needs and desire and gave me her priceless and wise counsel and recommendation. Came to get my eyebrows micro bladed with my mom and we spent quite a large sum of cash and were very disappointed in the results. They try to portray a fancy atmosphere to match their prices but I wish the quality and care matched their aesthetics instead. During the sessions I attended, I spoke up asking about alignment and specifically requested EVEN eyebrows. She drew lines and estimations by hand even though I asked about eyebrow mapping and she disregarded my concern. Stated "eyebrows should be sisters not twins". I am coming to make my eyebrows match, a specific concern and request and it was brushed off. I no longer wanted to proceed with the process but my mom already submitted payment and we were not allowed refunds. As a result, a few months after having the two required sessions I was fully healed. We were very diligent with the aftercare instructions yet our eyebrows looked faded and the lines became thick and blurred. It was not sharp or hair like at all and the color ended up looking reddish brown. One side of my tail end was so thick and blunt it looked like it was made by a dull colored pencil. I have found a new location to correct my brows that listened to my concern and used eye brow mapping. Once she mapped out my eyebrows I clearly saw that one eyebrow was higher and thicker than the other. It's frustrating to trust an artist with something so permanent and on your face and be completely disregarded. Personally if you are looking for high quality even eyebrows I wouldn't chose this studio. I have booked 3 laser removal sessions as a result to remove the mistakes I have from this place and will follow through with my new eyebrow specialist, who actually listens and is meticulous about her work. read more

Updating my review here just to tell y'all how much I enjoy having my brows done by Cindy. She is unabashedly honest, no-bs, and a master at her craft. The first time I went to Cindy was before microblading was a thing, over a decade ago. I asked her to keep my eyebrows thin and arched (as was the trend back in the day), and she was like noooope, you're gonna regret it. At the time, i was like, who is this lady telling me what to do? But I kept an open mind, and she then showed me how she wanted to shape them and while I was hesitant at the time, my brows turned out thick and natural and made me look younger and fresher. Years later, there's not a day that goes by that I am grateful for her foresight. Since then I have seen Cindy multiple times over the years and it's like visiting an old friend. Completely trust her aesthetics and appreciate her advice on beauty, trends, and even life. She is blunt, to the point, but always on point. IF you are a sensitive person whose ego is easily bruised, and don't actually want honest advice, then you should probably know that you should wear your big girl/big boy pants when going to Cindy. If your previous microblading job is screwed up, she will most likely tell you, but she will also tell you her plan to fix it. I reeeeally wanted to get my eyebrows micro-bladed. I researched for months. It's MY FACE. I shoot on HD for a living! Lol. I finally chose #CindyChoe of @ccpermanentmakeup (one of the highest rated #microblading salons in LA!) Plus, a certain public figure with amazing brows highly recommended her. Cindy was INCREDIBLE. She diagnosed one brow as lower than the other (bane of my existence!) and one barely had hair in the front. She'd correct the asymmetry by drawing a line of hair ABOVE my right brow and another BELOW my left. For years I over-plucked and they won't grow back. I've used castor oil, brow liner, henna tattoo, everything. I'm very self-conscious. When people look at my videos they look at MY EYES, and brows are the FRAMES OF EYES. 5 star experience with Cindy. This is my 3rd appointment over the last 3 years. Things I appreciate most about this business: 1. The receptionist. I walked in today and she had a big smile on her face and greeted me by name. The online booking system she organizes and her follow up schedule made it so easy to find an appointments. They even sent me an email that showed where I can find free 2 hour parking. 2. Cindy!! She is down to earth and it's clear she takes a lot of care of her clients. Worse than when I came in, she will probably challenge this review as it's expected because she is so arrogant and Shames others work---- sweetie yours isn't great! Cindy is amazing!!! I got my eyebrows micro-bladed and an eyeliner tattoo. She was so informative and detailed and took the time to evaluate my eyes and facial structure to draw out the best approach. My eyes and eyebrows are different shapes on the left and right side so she made recommendations that would make it more symmetrical. She is such a wizard because I came out looking 10 times better than when I walked in. The pain was minimal and the results were way better than I expected! I was initially a little scared of the eyeliner tattoo in particular but it was not painful or scary at all. I first found this place through Yelp and was contemplating for months where I should get it done. The reviews here sold me on it, but I just wish my result was the same as everyone else's. I got my eyebrows tattooed in 2014 with Cindy. She is an amazing person with an awesome personality. She didn't use any measuring tools, just free-handed it. She knows the face well and is able to see what's uneven and what kind of brows look good on people. When I went to get my brows done plus touchup, the receptionist told me two different aftercare procedures. Both had different outcomes and the hair strokes weren't as visible after the touch up healed. It still was better than when I had sparse hair. Not sure if her receptionist is the same now as it was back then. Fast forward to a few years, and still not satisfied with my brows...I gave it time in hopes they would fade by then. Here's the crazy part: it's been almost 5 years and the old tattoo that Cindy did is still deep in there and is grey!! I'm not sure what pigment was used back then compared to recently, but it has been the hardest to fade. I have no choice but to do a removal of the grey tattoo now in order to remove the pigment. I'm sure she used different pigments or techniques compared to back then. Not really sure why my brows turned grey. She is a great person, really sincere and nice...so it sucks that I have to give such a negative review. Unfortunately I am not happy about having to spend more money on a removal than the tattoo itself. read more

Finally, after months of researching and waiting, my appointment day was finally here! I chose this place because it had a lot of positive reviews and the images looked great. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The wait time could be long - you don't go in right at your appointment time. I was too excited to care, but in retrospect they should probably plan better so people aren't waiting so long. Every time I was there I waited 30-45 min past my scheduled time. Mia started by drawing in my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. The drawing was unfinished looking and didn't give me a good idea of what my brows were going to look like. I started getting really nervous. She kept drawing, but it wasn't what I wanted. My brows didn't look even, the arch was not how I wanted them, they were too thin... it just wasn't what I was expecting. I started sweating and getting knots in my stomach. It would have helped if she were able to explain the process clearer to me. There was a bit of a language barrier. She let me take the reigns a little and assist with the drawing. After a while, she assured me that it would be fine and to trust her. Ok, let go of your perfectionist side and trust the expert! We went into a room for the procedure. I think the consultation took too long because the numbing cream wore off and I could feel the needle scraping my skin. It actually started hurting, so we had to stop to put more cream on. In the end, I wasn't happy with the results. She told me to let it heal. I'd go back in a month for the touch-up. During that time, she could fix anything that was needed. I left the place uneasy and when I got home I almost cried. I told myself to let it heal at least 2 weeks or so before making any real assessments. 2 weeks passed, the peeling stopped and I'm still not happy. I have uneven arches, uneven thickeness, spots missing and uneven darkness. I know she said she would fix it at the touch-up, but I'm somewhat scared to go back to her. Touch-up: She filled in my eyebrows more, but the uneven arches, thickness & darkness issues were all still there. I called to complain. The receptionist was helpful and said they would take me in one more time to fix the issues. 2nd touch-up: I needed more numbing cream once again. When Mia walked out to give it time to kick in, I heard her sigh really loud. It made me feel uncomfortable being there. The results were better, but still nothing like what I was expecting. I wanted natural looking eyebrows. These were unsymmetrical and splotchy. I wanted to make this place my go to for eyebrows and touch ups, but I'm definitely not going back. read more
