The shape of each is perfect, the white tip on the French manicure looks clean but natural, and the artwork that she painted is delicate and beautiful.This is by far the best manicure I've had in a long time. I rarely do anything to my nails, but when I do I would only go to Kimie because she is just so so so amazing. I can always count on her to brighten my days with her wonderful nail art designs. I'm so grateful for her passion, top notch skills that keep improving even more each time I come, and her attention to details (she would never forgive herself for any tiny dust on your nail, even if you don't mind). More than anything though, Kimie is just such a pleasant person to be around. When you're getting your nails done, you're stuck with the nailist for at least an hour. It's never boring or awkward talking to her. That really makes a huge difference in the total experience. She will take the time to understand your personality and taste and give you inspiring suggestions to create a design that you will surely be in love with. Price varies based on what you want to do but I think it's very reasonable considering the excellent quality and customer service. I haven't tried any of the other services yet but I'd really like to try the facial by Yoshiko one of these days. I have been going to Kimie for regular mani/pedis for 2 years and she is the BEST! I usually opt for more "boring" nails, considering her capability for nail art, but she is always precise and perfect. My nails easily last 3 weeks to a month without chipping. I recently moved to Pasadena, and she is still the only person I will go to for my nails (it's about an hour-long drive, people!). That's how good she is. Ok Y'all...get your tea cups because this might be a long one. So in my quest to find a nail shop that is capable of doing good quality work while keeping up with nail trends I came across Salon De My via a customer mine; the customer referred me to a technician named Noriko. I contacted the salon via Yelp; I received a reply fairly quickly advising me to contact the salon via text or Noriko directly. I figured since I had never met Noriko I'd contact the salon. In contacting the salon I was told Noriko was unavailable on the days I requested to set an appointment...so I decided I'd contact Noriko directly to make sure. Sure enough, she was available and I scheduled my appointment...I was so excited! On the day of my appointment I arrive on time at 11:00am BUT Noriko must have been running behind because I had to WAIT for her to finish up the previous client. I had no problem waiting....I sat down to begin my services at 11:15am perhaps later I wasn't watching the clock. WELL, I was scheduled for services other than the ones I received...basically I got acrylic removed, gel polish on my finger nails and a gel pedicure...this totaled $111!!!! AND IT TOOK HER THREE (3) HOURS TO DO IT!!!! No manicure either JUST GEL POLISH CHANGE!! I paid and said well you get what you pay for....so much for that because my gel nails CHIPPED a couple of days later! I texted Noriko and she said she'll repair the chipped nails at no charge. GREAT, so the appointment was scheduled 9:45am. I leave my house on the day of the appointment and I realized I left my phone at home while driving... I ran into freeway traffic due to a motorcycle accident and ultimately I arrived late 10:00am... AND GUESS WHAT?!.....Noriko told me she could not do my repair because I was LATE for my appointment. I explained what happened (mind you there was NO ONE in her chair) she told me SHE COULD NOT do anything for me because I was late. REALLY...after I waited for her the first time around. My very first impression of her and SHE WAS LATE! I said "OK" and walked out. I was so disappointed ....I really thought I'd found my nail shop home. I will never ever step foot in Salon De My. I figured Noriko really didn't want me as a client and used the opportunity to reject me. I spent $111 for a polish change and pedicure....RIP OFF!!! Save your time and your money!!! read more

Ok, Listen up all you people out there! Let me tell you about Miyako and her unbelievable customer service! I had my first appointment with her November 20th. I need to add that I have extremely thin (understatement) nails! The night before my appointment, I had soaked the acrylic off. Miyako put several coats of hard gel on however, my nails needed a bit more! The next day, after washing dishes, which makes my nails completely pliable/bendable and a coupIe nails felt a bit jagged on the ends. I knew there wasn't enough gel coat to protect and last until my next appointment which is a month out. I messaged Miyako via the website page. I kid you not, within two minutes she messaged me back. We concluded I needed at least one more coat of gel and she made time for me to come back in on the 22nd. I was so impressed with her caring nature and wanting to make things right for me as a new client. I am "old school" and highly believe in quality customer service! I also believe "you pay for what you get." Miyako is a kind and compassionate business owner. She won me over...and anyone who knows me knows I have a strong leaning towards loyalty. I have been going to Kimie for the past couple of years now for her Spa Pedicure. It's very much a pampering experience. Having a Spa Pedicure is my way, as a busy mom, of having two hours to completely relax and unwind. The salon is very peaceful and a perfect environment to decompress. There are several steps to the Spa Pedicure, starting with a lovely soak of the feet, followed by meticulous attention to detail by Kimie in trimming the toenails, exfoliating the feet, then putting warm booties on over moisturized feet, followed by a gentle massage of the feet and legs. The final step is the beautiful job Kimie does of applying the nail polish, and you are sent on your way feeling so relaxed with the softest, prettiest feet of your life. The Salon De MY is very elegant, feminine and classy with crystal chandeliers and fresh flowers and feels and looks very upscale. The Spa Pedicure is performed in a private room with a soft recliner chair, and this attention to detail is also why I am able to really relax and unwind. Also important to me is the fact that all the pedicure instruments are sterilized, and the sealed package is opened in front of you. I also like the fact that you can park with ease in the parking lot out front. I can't think of a better way to treat yourself than to go see Kimie for a Spa Pedicure. read more

I really love everything about Salon de My. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel at peace and able to "pause" your hectic life. The facility is clean and modern, yet cozy. I received an amazing microdermabrasion facial from Yoshiko. My skin feels renewed, healthy, and glowing! It was just what I needed to rejuvenate my skin from the summer and prep for the winter weather. What I really appreciated was Yoshiko's thoroughness and detailed attention to my skin needs. I never used to get manicures on a regular basis. I will, now! Noriko does my nails. She (as do all of the nail artists here) maintain a clean station. Noriko really can be classified as an artist. Even if you don't get any designs on your nails, the finished product is first rate. And when the boyfriend notices how well the polish is applied, that's saying something. This salon uses Japanese gels. A little more expensive than most other nails salons, but, so worth it because after 3-4 months of having this kind of polish on, my nails are still healthy. No brittleness, no yellowing, no softening, or any of the other maladies that have been associated with manicures/polish. Five stars and more! read more
