I was in town for a conference in Lafayette last week and my advisor and I stopped to grab coffee/tea and breakfast every morning before the start of the conference. The service was wonderful, the same cashier was there all three mornings and she was always so kind and friendly! The cafe itself is cozy and has seating both inside and outside! They also had plenty of baked goods, yogurt parfaits (I had the yogurt parfait with berries and it was lovely!), and delicious black iced tea! First off, local'ish (Community Coffee is Louisiana born and bred) so of course it's a fave when we're in the area. I ask what was suggested - - the Cypress Swamp or Uptown Jazz. Was I going for flavor or caffeine, smooth or dark, etc. Just how many places ask you that; at least I don't get such advice. I picked Uptown Jazz with a shot of white chocolate, then i was almost embarrassed to say "...a splash of low fat milk and a Splenda." The barista'ette then asked how about a shot of low fat white chocolate flavoring. Oh yeah, and I thank her for the suggestion. I almost picked up a new coffee cup, and really i should have. Next time maybe. Boy I wish there were CC's Coffee houses all the way up I49 to Shreveport; and really all the way to through DFW area. Picked up a bag of Creamy Candy Cane ground coffee. I love that Community Coffee is a local chain and I am really happy for their success. I grew up with Community Coffee and Chicory brewed in our kitchen every morning. My dad loves that particular type and drinks it black. While that's way too bitter for my tastes, I do love their coffee and tea. This location is a refreshing change of pace. I tire of seeing a Starbucks on every corner. I tire of mediocre coffee and bored and annoyed employees. Apparently the coffee gods were listening! It's located in a busy shopping center with a plenty of tables and plugs for your computer. It's quiet enough to come here to study or get some work done, but not so quiet you feel like you can't have a conversation with a friend. There are also nice little tables outdoors on a patio and they're shaded with umbrellas. Nice! Oh and best of all, a drive-thru! I love a drive-thru! Try the White Chocolate Mochasippi if you're a frozen coffee lover like me or if iced tea is your thing you'll probably love the Strawberry Rouge. So good and so refreshing! read more

I drove through on way to a business appointment. My mocha latte was excellent. My business associate had an iced chi tea. She liked hers very much too. We both had a chocolate croissant. We both felt they seemed like "day old" to us. Maybe it is just because Lafayette has so many good places that serve great croissants. I love their coffee much better than Starbucks and will be back, but might skip the croissant. read more

The only coffee brand I drink. My favorite orders are the caramel mochasippi w/ the works, caramel hot latte, and caramel or vanilla iced latte. This CC's in particular always makes them the best. Right amount of sweetness, never bitter. I get mine all decaf and you cannot tell a difference in taste. The blueberry muffins are also delicious. read more

Location has improved aesthetics with some new overhead lighting and long-table arrangement shared seating, which appears to have increased interior seating capacity. The exterior would benefit from an rain-weather, sun-shade protective summer screen above the large patio. Like all quick service chains, there is an emphasis on disposable serving ware. I'd like to see that improved upon. The experience is more satisfying with ceramic. It is available upon request, though the customer isn't always asked. CC's does offer an incentive program through a dedicated plastic "gift" card model. As for the espresso, it isn't the best I've ever had, but often can be quite good, particularly the drip-brew. I'd like to see Community Coffee, as the dominant coffee provider in Louisiana, offer a Certified FairTrade USA and USDA Organic blend or single-origin bean, to these Cafés, in particular, through its Private Reserve label. Benefits of this location: On the sole bicycle laneway in town that runs for miles. Close to the University. Has a mixed demographic crowd. Decent for people watching. Not too trendy. Open until 10pm. Has had long-term staff and management, familiar faces amongst the otherwise high-turnover service industry, particularly if you're a morning bird. Has plenty of single/double tables for individuals to sit alone and work. Music is sorta "elevator-ey" today, but light jazz at times. read more

The last tasty CC's in all of Lafayette! They always get my order correct, really nice and friendly, following the rules and standards on how to make coffee. They know my name now. The other locations in the area don't make the drinks correctly. They are messing up the shots of espresso. Please keep the raspberry white chocolate scones forever. They are amazing. I wish the location was a little bigger, it gets packed in there. I love getting tons of coffee and studying here between classes and thanks for having the cleanest bathrooms in Lafayette. read more

Cramped location. They do try but it's just a small place. There is outdoor seating but not a lot. The drive thru is nice. If you sit inside for more than 3 minutes you will reek of the smell the rest of the day. I would not use this location if you are looking for a quite spot or a place to study. Came around for the first time last night to study. I'm not a local & just the "coffee shop study spot" vibe made me feel a little more productive than usual. It's also nice that despite their early hours, you can sit outside to work and still access their wifi! Some downsides: - Not really a fan of whatever my bf ordered me, it was some kind of blended mocha that hurt my stomach the rest of the night. - It closes pretty early, which surprised me since I'm not used to places closing so early. A few just sat outside (myself included) to finish their work. Be warned however, I came home with a LOT of bug bites from sitting outside. - It's pretty chilly inside, definitely need a light cardigan or long sleeve compared to outside! Gave it a 1 because I bought a kind bar and ate that for my breakfast. Service was slow for a quick morning stop. Ordered the vanilla latte iced and it was too sweet and not very good. Ordered an oatmeal and had to ask for it. They forgot. Water added was not enough and not hot. Asked for hot water and she added more room temp water. After 20 minutes and it's still cold and uncooked. 1st and last visit to this place. read more

Butter Rum Muffins are delicious. Get it with a coffee or mochasipi and your day will be complete! It's very technology friendly with outlets everywhere you turn. Definitely the key spot for completing work. Workers are so sweet! I'd definitely recommend this coffee shop. read more
