While other clubs see dollar signs, CVSC sees potential and donates volunteer hours to help develop youth. According to their webiste, all CVSC teams are given the freedom to select their own their own budget and their own schedule. We work together to raise money for our teams by hosting the Cool Summer Cup every June and a Fireworks Stand every 4th of July. These fundraisers and other annual fundraisers help CVSC Teams raise money for their travel expenses, uniforms, equipment and training. CVSC teams play in the Central Coast Spring League (CCSL), Oxnard Youth Premiere Soccer League (OYPSL) and multiple tournaments in CalSouth and CalNorth throughout the year. The older and more competitive teams play in higher level tournaments and college showcases. All CVSC teams are encouraged to play in State Cup or National Cup. The Coastal Valley Soccer Club is based in the Santa Maria Valley and has extended our club to Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, and the surrounding areas. It was one of those things that would make a person never want to go there again. I felt bad for my grandson. I realize the cashier was probably just following company policy, but I felt like the 'policy' should change a little to keep a customer who would potentially come back in again and again. The bike he wanted was not assembled completely or properly. The original sales person said he wanted another associate, Donovan, to check the bike and make any necessary adjustments. Donovan did a complete inspection of the bike, finding several missteps by the person who had originally assembled the bike. However Donovan remained pleasant and informative and did not criticize the other staff member. He checked every feature on the bike and fixed any deficiencies. We appreciated his knowledge and professionalism.

It had a playground, restrooms, big green lawn areas, parking lot, and walking paths to the wetland and beach access. I was quite impressed with the green lawns. A lot of room to run amok. And the Morro Rock impressively stands in the background. Gorgeous! Can never get tired of that view. Another thing to note is that the park has no trees. This was done on purpose. The omission of trees was done per guidance from the Coastal Comminssion to protect the wetlands. Being from the Central Valley, the weather is much hotter and a park without trees is unimaginable. But the lack of trees at Cloisters Park didn't make my visit less enjoyable.
