One star unfortunately.. and that's only because zero is not an option. I went to pick up a few items of mine a week or two ago and noticed one of the items was damaged (pics to follow). I quickly noticed and told the front desk who directed me to leave it there and I'd receive a call from the Manager or Owner. Time went by... and you guessed it, NO CALL. Today I remembered to give them a call about my damaged item. I was again told the owner would call me. This time he did. We talked for twenty minutes and got absolutely nowhere. His equipment damaged my shirt and he told me it must have been normal wear and tear while in their possession. He noted this was his conclusion as he noticed wear and tear in two other spots. DISCLAIMER-- there was NO OTHER wear and tear. I told him this wouldn't fly with me and as a fellow business owner he should do the right thing, I even offered to meet him at half the price of my now ruined polo. He said this was essentially the chance we take going to his dry cleaners.. please note that anyone potentially deciding between this location and LOMBARD -- LOMBARD HAS DIFFERENT OWNER AND TOLD ME HE'D never do this to a customer). The owner proceeded to tell me I was even lucky the shirt was still there as I hadn't picked up in 30 days and he should have donated it. Yes, it was tough for me to get there as my wife was in the hospital for two months. In conclusion, I didn't have any issues with this location prior, the women who work there are nice, never actually met the owner, this all occurred via the phone. However, I disagree with the owner's style and if this is how he treats folks just beware when deciding where to go. At worst I would have accepted $50 (the polo was likely triple). He couldn't even do that. Oh and then when I asked how I file a claim, he told me he would not let me.. what sort of business does that? It's principle now, no one in my family or friends circle will ever utilize them again. A shame that a business man doesn't realize doing the right thing would in fact have continued to make him more money. The End. Goodbye Glen Ellyn location. Unless they do the right thing in which case I would remove this post. (If possible). This place has been my go-to dry cleaner for almost a decade. The prices are reasonable, and the turnaround time is quicker than most. The best part is definitely the service. All the employees I have interacted with have been great, but Bedsy is my favorite. She is all smiles and remembers all the regular customers. I highly recommend using their service. read more

We have been going to this cleaner since it opened. One garment was damaged years ago and they gave us a credit on future dry cleaning. Recently they tore a shirt (worn 1 time) and refuse to do anything about it. It was only a $49 shirt, but I wanted to make the point that they should be more careful. I then spoke to the owner who told me that they inspect every garment when it comes in (he claims they video this) then they tag it (with a little paper tag) then launder the shirts. When I said that makes no sense 1. How a tiny paper tag can withstand being laundered in hot water 2. The bigger issue, why would they launder a torn garment and not notify me??? When I challenged the claimed chain of events, he became condescending and hung up on me. Sadly, we will be looking for another dry cleaner and would highly recommend others do the same. read more

CD One Price in Glen Ellyn has been cleaning my clothes for at least 10 years! Like clockwork, I go in every Saturday to drop off and pick up my week's work wardrobe. Not only do they do a great job at a great price, but their friendly and honest customer service is what keeps me a loyal customer. Just this past month, Bedsey channeled her inner "Nancy Drew" to find my lost sweaters. One Saturday, I must have keyed in my phone number wrong, but because they know me, they we able to get my clothes from the past week. However, the following week, there was nothing to pick up, which was weird, but I shook it off because I haven't been dressing up as much during the pandemic. It didn't hit me until a couple weeks later when I couldn't find 2 sweaters, that they must be a the cleaners. I stopped in twice inquiring about them, but not until the second time, when Bedsey and I reviewed my online bank debits for CD, she was able to use those clues to locate my 4 sweaters!! They were also buried between 2 other sweaters that I didn't even realize were also missing!! Thank you Bedsey and all the friendly, hard-working people who work at CD One Price. I am a CD ONE price fan - I have always enjoyed the quality and timeliness of your guys work but I am sorry to say this Glen Ellyn location is a gamechanger for me. TERRIBLE SERVICE with a capital T! The supervisor there is a piece of work! The guy talks to customers like he has issues and snarls at them like he has a problem. I came to pick up my clothes and the way he snapped at me and just walked away - made me really wonder how you guys hire such people to be the face of your brand? Such characters will destroy it. Easy. I walk in, I drop my clothes off. Everyone is friendly so I dont mind going because I know I will be greeted by a smiling face (behind a mask of course) and they are quick. I also use the drop box and that is equally as simple. When I pick up my cleaning, it is perfect every time. The people there engage in small talk so I feel like I am amongst friends. I have been a long time customer of CD One Price Cleaners. I am an attorney and have to wear a suit a few times a week (at least before the pandemic) so I need laundering and dry cleaning services regularly. I was going to the one in South Loop for several years and they always did a fantastic job. I, however, recently moved to Glen Ellyn and was glad to see that they have a location here. I used them for the first time recently and was appalled by the service and treatment I experienced. I brought in several white button up shirts, one of which had a few stains and was generally yellowed (I can't remember what happened to that shirt but I did mention when I brought it in that it was stained and I may have to toss it but I wanted them to give it a try). Also, my white collared shirts always have discoloration around the collar after I wear them, but that discoloration always comes out after they are laundered. Anyway, every single one of my white shirts came back yellow. I don't know what they heck happened, but the shirts are ruined. Frankly, I was pretty irate when I came into the store. The man who I suspect was the owner started getting irate with me in response saying things like, "now if you want to get angry and start raising your voice then I can do that too" while raising his voice. Fine, that's fair I guess. But the real issue is what he did in response to the condition of my shirts. Without even really looking at the shirts, he immediately took the "well these are old shirts" approach. I said, "yeah, well they weren't all like this when I brought them in." He then goes back and looks at the video from when I initially brought them in and finds one shirt that was already yellow. The video, of course, also shows that the other shirts were gleaming white. I said, yeah, that is one shirt, what about the other shirts that aren't yellow. He then proceeds to act as if the one yellow shirt justifies all the other shirts being yellow, as if I am trying to pull a fast one. This guy had absolutely zero interest in doing the right thing and getting to the bottom of it. Do not trust this place with your clothes because if anything goes wrong, they will deny deny deny. I've never done anything like this, but if fully intend on suing this branch as a matter of principle. I cannot let a company get away with ruining my clothes and acting as if they were already ruined when there is video evidence to the contrary. read more

My parents and friends bring me things to have cleaned there for the price. I took in 7 items (including 3 wool winter coats) and it was $13.93...no service tax. The place is fast and friendly, it is the best place to open in Glen Ellyn in quite some time! Update: Ladies, listen up! I took a blouse there and they only charged me $1.09! I posted these pictures that show my husband's shirt and jacket. I came in on wed morning 6/3 and picked up thurs morning 6/4. This was my first time and I swear that I NEVER EVER COME BACK here. I wish I checked everything before I leave. I brought it home but I did not check either because I had dry-clean so many many times and it never happens. If I'm paying you to launder and press my shirt, I don't want a lot of wrinkles! I tried this place after being lured by the cheap prices. I took in 6 shirts. I picked them up and they were all crammed together and very wrinkly. So now I will have to use an iron on top of their work! This location is convenient, there's plenty of parking and a queing system set up like at the bank. You know with the "wait here for next available teller" kind of thing. They even have free coffee here. But if I have to iron after paying money for someone else to do it, I won't be back! read more

I have used them for years. Then a Tide cleaner moved into the area and I started to go to them. I had a comforter to get cleaned and decided to take it CD one as they had cheaper pricing. I dropped it off on a Friday and was told that it would be ready by 5pm on Monday. Go on in and it's not ready. I was told they were backed up and to come back Tuesday after 5pm. So I did. Came back Tuesday and it still was not done. Once again I was told they were backed up and to come back again the next day. Came back for a 3rd day and had to wait for my comforter to get bagged. I was given a full refund which was good. Yet when your big thing is 1 day cleaning or 2 for comforters and blankets and you take 5 days, because you are backed up, and yet your employees are just standing around, makes me wonder. I will be going back to Tide. read more

Great price and matching quality. I take in dry cleaning to one of two places every week and I'll keep going to One Price Cleaners regardless of a few minor issues. The price is the selling point for all One Price cleaners, it's inexpensive, that's why they exist. Sadly... the quality of service sometimes matches this. I've been taking my dry cleaning here for a while now, and about two months ago was when I had my first "button" incident like a few reviews down. It was maybe two or three shirts with cracked buttons (usable, but some will probably have to be replaced). Now normally I'd be more peeved about that, but... your'e paying half the price, and two or three shirts in a few years of going there, I think I've saved enough to buy myself some nicer newer shirts. Overall... I go there, I'll keep going there and I could care less about some minor issues. Granted I take nothing expensive to ANY discount cleaners. read more

I used to be a big fan of One Price, but not anymore. Every other shirt I've taken to them in the last few months now has a broken or missing button. Not a big deal if they take responsibility and fix it but they won't. Last time I brought shirts back with broken buttons they first told me they weren't "responsible for buttons." When I picked the shirts up one had a button replaced but VERY (unusable) loosely and using white thread on a dark shirt. On the other shirt they just took the broken button off. Yeah, they're fast and cheap but it's not worth it if I have to take shirts back so often because they damage them. read more

If you buy your clothes on the clearance rack at Walmart and could care less about quality cleaning, I reccomend for thier inexpensive cleaning. However, if you want to ensure your clothes are treated with care, machine directions followed and properly treated- I highly reccomend you do not go here. 3 of my husbands suits have been ruined beyond repair. As I understand, the chemicals were not properly cycled (used for too long- cheaper...) and caused overheating- which in turn burned the material on his suits. The owner was more than rude, stating the suits were greater that 10 years old, when in fact they are all w/in a year old- 1 is only 3 months old. Nordstroms tailor and manager inspected the suits (purchased there) and confirmed it was dry-cleaner error that ruined a Hickey Freeman, Santorelli and Ben Sherman suit. If I could rate 'no-star', I would In short, spend more and go elsewhere! read more

Went into the store this morning. I had a coupon printed however the very nice lady waiting on me was having a problem getting it to scan. She asked ANTOINE to help. He came over and was also unsuccessful. He walked away, clearly agitated, mumbling "it's on her" a couple of time. I asked who's her and he said it's my fault it didn't work because I should have made the copy bigger. I took my cleaning and left explaining to the person waiting on me that I didn't like that Antoine was so very rude. There are many dry cleaners from which to choose. Customer Service is something that sets them apart. Clearly Antoine doesn't understand that ...... or at least he certainly didn't today!!! Will be taking my cleaning elsewhere. read more

I wear scrubs for a living, I do not wear a single thing that has to be dry cleaned. I had a wedding to go to on a Saturday, and realized the Friday night before that my dress needed to be cleaned. I called CD One first thing on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and Antwon said that if I could bring it in for him ASAP he would have my dress dry cleaned for me by 1 p.m. LIFE SAVER. Wouldn't have had a clean, wrinkle-free dress to wear to the wedding without him!! The dress was clean, pressed nicely, and ready for me when I picked it up. I only go to the cleaners about once every other year- I'm not a wearer of very fancy clothes and to be honest, tend to be a little lazy. But I do have one sweater that is dry-clean only and I spilled spaghetti sauce on it (OK, I'm a little messy too) so needed to get it cleaned. This place is right on the way to work and I appreciate that everything is one price- in the past when I tried to take things to get dry cleaned it always ended up being tons more than I expected to pay- at least you know when you walk in how much it's going to be. The people working were friendly each time. You really have to remember that they don't accept credit cards- it is cash or check only- and you pay when you drop your items off. If it's in by 10 it's done by 5- if not, it's not done until the next day after 5. I thought it was interesting that you can see everything- it looks like one big room so you can see everyone working. I had a good experience here for my one sweater and will come back again next time I need to. read more

Terrible service. First time there and definitely last. When I dropped off my clothes the girl at the front desk had such an attitude in and had headphones in, had to keep repeating myself since again, her HEADPONES were in. Came in the next day to pick up my pants and they refused to clean them- with no notification or phone call. These pants were needed the following day and weren't cleaned because there was dirt on the bottom of them. The man at the desk was so indifferent and rude, saying that they aren't obligated to notify you when they refuse to clean them. This place is going downhill. I use them at least weekly and that will come to an end soon. I'd rather pay twice the price at Tide just up the street than wonder if the clothing I bring in for cleaning will actually be returned to me when we pick up. My most recent example was cleaning brought in on Saturday, November 7. Among the order were 6 shirts dropped off, and 5 were returned when my wife picked up that evening. I am very detail oriented, and remember specifically the brand, color and description of the shirt that I dropped off and did not come back (unfortunately, it was a favorite). While our receipt stated 6 shirts were received, my wife claims they said they got their count wrong when she picked up and all they offered was a credit for the cleaning charge. On Monday morning, November 9, I stopped by and explained the issue to a young lady who took my number and stated she'd look for it...and call me with an update. No word all day. On Tuesday, November 10 I stopped by and explained my previous experience. This different young lady took more information and two of my phone numbers. It is now a week later and no word at all from CD One Price in Glen Ellyn. This happened once before and I took my cleaning to the CD in Lombard. They were much better....just out of my way so I can't regularly use them. I am now out an expensive shirt and no offer of compensation from this establishment. By my calculations, we spend about $1,500 per year on dry cleaning here. That business is going elsewhere. One benefit to Tide is that they place a discrete bar code on each garment, so there is little chance of loss. read more
