This business has poor management and loyalty to local customers. After 9 years of being a local…read morecustomer, upon returning an item for a store credit, (as I understood their return policy) I was only given a partial credit back to the store. I questioned it, with the owner, who happened to be at the store. I was later told that the manager said I only received credit for the money I spent and would not be receiving the money that I earned in their so called loyalty program back. After having spent $1,000 at their store over the years, I apparently received a $50 credit to use at checkout. I was so excited as I didn't even know it existed! When I brought one of the items back that I purchased, to get a store credit, so I could get something else from their store, the manager said that I was given a "gift" of $50 and lost that when I brought the item back. It would have been nice of them to tell me I could exchange it for the same amount that was spent, but they never said anything. I'm not sure how they figure that into their "loyalty" credit, but was saddened by the disloyalty I received after having shopped there for so many years. They apparently care more about keeping $50 than they do earning $1,000. I still can't wrap my head around it. However, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be giving them my business. It's a small town and word gets around, when customers aren't treated with respect. As their sister store, Sage, is run by the same family, I also won't be supporting their business anymore. Actually, Encore doesn't accept any return, for ANY reason. It is deep within their website. Somehow Encore has silently changed from the common practice of being a regular store, a middle man responsible for the whole relationship between customer and brand, to being a fraud facing store built on brands that DO NOT reply to customer emails and have no intention of owning their quality. Case in point: I bought Hi Tec work boots, 3 days later the metal lace hoop breaks. Took back with receipt, was informed they couldn't be re-sold so no return, also advised not to lace up boots because something like this could happen?Advised to work with the manufacturer. THE MANUFACTURER IS IN AFRICA and the UK, AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. We tried, and tried again. So, not one more time ever will Encore get my own or my kids business, their pretty young so us alone is 40 + pairs of shoes until they are all through school.
