Cecconi's is probably the top Italian restaurant in London when it comes to business; the River Cafe and Zafferano are both better for mainly social gatherings. It's a place where one can run into 'heavies' - and not just one account of the size of their wallets. But go for some sublime dishes - the tagliolini verdi gratinati comes immediately to mind - and superlative Italian wines - like the Sforza I had last time. Cecconis is a great find in Mayfair. It is frequented by londoners all hours. We reserved a table for lunch and found the menu had a decent selection. Service was spot on. Chilled tomato soup was best I ever had. I also had the black rice, mozzarella and avocado salad. It sounds plain yet it was bursting with flavor. My daughter had truffle targliete which you had to ask for. Definitely a big portion for lunch and plenty of people watching going on. Manager checked on us during lunch and as we were leaving. Overrated in my opinion. While the food was okay I agree with other reviewers that the service and attitude was lacking. We did not have a reservation and they did not seat us at one of the many empty tables. I enjoy sitting at the bar usually but this bar was crowded and tough to eat at. The tables surrounding us remained empty the entire evening for which I removed one star from an otherwise three star review. Okay meal but not worth returning. read more

The food was impeccable. The spaghetti with truffle was the best I have ever tried. We ordered both, the white truffle and the black one. Both types were incredibly good. The service was also good. Nice Italian staff and environment, a bit noisy but still very nice. For dessert I had a chocolate fondant and ice cream and it was delicious. read more

Highly recommended. This restaurant has all the attributes of a high-end Italian restaurant: great food, wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. I've never had a bad experience here and have been going for years. Great breakfast menu, and perfect for business meetings in the area throughout the day as it's very discreet. One of my favourite places is by the bar though, wonderful atmosphere and great reasonably priced drinks and I'd recommend a bellini, and all the drinks come with nuts and a large dish of olives. Its iconic plus green interior is very comfortable and it has an area of banquettes that are perfect for more intimates dinner. A wonderful all-rounder that has stood the test of time. I would however recommend booking in advance, especially for main meals. read more

Very good. I was by myself and waited for a seat at the bar. The staff was quite friendly and the food absolutely perfect. After an excellent meal I topped it off with their cheese plate and a nice port. I strongly suggest this place if you are casting about and even if you're not! read more

Ah Cecconi's, my home away from home! This establishment has everything one could want for a nice night out. The ambiance is always lovely, the reservation process smooth, and food and drinks are so consistent! The service is also quite nice, considering how busy this place gets, the servers always manage to pay attention to details, which does not go unnoticed. It can get a little bit loud, so if you're looking for a library-style noise level Cecconi's is probably not for you. read more

I went there several times.In my opinion the atmosphere is really good and pleasant.They got my order correct and were very fast with it. This is a nice place where you can find delicious, mouth-watering meals full of great flavor. Very nice Italian food serving place. In London there are many Italian restaurants, but definitily this one is one of the best.

It is easy to book a table there and enjoy your time there. The prices are just normal, but the service sometimes is kind of a slow one. However, the meals are appealing and you won't regret it if you go there. For sure you won't resist one their delicious desserts like Crème caramel, Tiramisu, Home-made ice-cream and sorbet. The Vanilla cheesecake is one of my favourite desserts there. read more

Super critical I may be but it is hard to find much wrong with Cecconi's in London, just a spit from Old Bond Street, and believe me I have tried. I am fortunate to have eaten there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, midweek and evening, small and large groups, business and just for pleasure. I am also easily bored and tremendously fussy about all aspects of the dining experience and.....Cecconis never disappoints. One of the few restaurants where I just know anyone we take or introduce to it will have an excellent experience, wether it is a meal to impress or a casual early evening or just lunchtime pasta at the bar with a delicious glass of Vino Nobile or Valpolicella. This place sometimes manages to cross the divide. One could easily mistake it for one of the most exclusive London dining experiences but it is actually quite unpretentious, always lively and tremendously good value. Lucky I do eat out often but still bless the day I was introduced to Cecconi's. read more

I stopped by here on a recent trip from the states thanks to the brilliant recommendation from Andreas at Huntsman & Sons on Savile Row. I had the minestrone and pasta bolognese. Both the soup and entree were prepared to perfection. The waiter was polite, prompt, and courteous as one would expect from such establishment. It was a very busy Wednesday, but after reading the reviews, I was excited about coming here. The food was OK, not great. The chicken liver appetizer was way over salted, clam dish a bit underclammed, no Parmesan offered and the service was a bit slow.
