We found Joel at Gino's near my old office in Dunwoody. He had an impressive portfolio and great reviews. It was clear he cares about attention to detail. Since then I've moved around, got married, gone back to school, and had big presentations at work, but I've always gone to see Joel to make sure I look professional, well groomed and confident in my appearance. He opened up shop this year in P'tree Corners after relocating from Sandy Springs, and it is the same high quality service and attention to detail. The new space is quite expansive and very clean with lots of parking available. It's neat to see Joel and his wife be a part of the growing small business community in the area. For the longest time, I would decide between getting underwhelmed by nearby Rooster's or driving all the way into Atlanta to go to Inman Parlor only... to get underwhelmed also a lot and then annoyed that I drove into Atlanta. Schedule your haircut easily through Yelp. Alison still has a message requesting that you mask up, but you can disregard this. It was up during the height of the pandemic, and she doesn't know how to take it down. I finally searched for skin fade on Yelp, and that was the magic that helped me find Alison. So, that is what I also shall mention in my review. Alison's little shop is inside of Sola Salons. It's at the opposite end of that shopping center with Publix. It's easy enough to navigate, and Alison will also provide directions. The haircut and conversation were both great. That's a surprisingly rare combination in an industry that values both. Outside of doing an incredible job executing on my cut, she gave me an excellent recommendation for lobster rolls. All Metro Atlanta male residents and guests should check Alison's calendar first when needing a haircut.

Whether if my child speaks Spanish or English or Japanese shouldn't ever be a discussion in any way or form at a hair salon. Calling my child "tonta" it's unacceptable. Yes, my child understood when they used the word "tonta" towards her. So, yes if you're ok with power hungry adults over children, this is your place. Also, my 7yr old has always had a sensitive scalp, clearly we as parents know our children better than anyone. But apparently my kid it's just a cry baby. Yet, she's gotten her hair done and has never cried before, here she was crying because they weren't being gentle or careful in any way, instead of comforting her they forced her down when she tried to get off the seat, telling her to stop being a cry baby. Thankfully her big sister was there to protect her as we've always taught them. My oldest (12yrs old) has learned about CGM (curly girl method) if you're not aware of this, please look it up and educate yourself about how beautiful our hair is and how we can take care of it oppose to damaging our hair with so many chemicals and straightening our hair. Anyhow, my oldest looked up the stuff they were trying to put on her little sister right there and then read how damaging this can be and didn't allow them to apply it on her sister & instead of listening to her as a customer, they were condescending and belittle her completely. My 12yr old daughter was caught off guard as to why or how these people think it's ok to be so rude to them, to anyone for that matter. Instead of reacting back with the same treatment, she grabbed her sister's hand and walked away and waited in the car. This was supposed to be a beautiful outing with their Grandmother who's been a loyal client for years now & it's such a a huge disappointment that it turned out to be a complete nightmare for my girls and my mother. The girls just wanted something simple and easy, but clearly they weren't able to understand them since they spoke English. Instead they set my oldest under a bonnet (dome) hair dryer. Her hair is already curly she didn't need any of that, all you had to do was wash it and crunch those beautiful curls. She even had a photo to show them what she wanted, which once again could've had been done with a wash and crunching her curls. Youngest one just wanted braids, but they were going to apply some sort of permanent‍ Parents, our children aren't puppets. Teach your babies to stand their ground. We're raising our kids to be respectful with everyone, NOT just with adults but also with their peers. Respects goes a long way, and I understand many of us Hispanics were raised as though our thoughts/feelings didn't matter because we were kids, break that cycle. Raise strong little humans by showing them what true real respect looks like at a young age, they're the future after all.

She does an awesome job on my sister's hair who stopped relaxing almost a year ago. My hair is curly type 3a my sister's hair is curly type 4C. My son gets his haircuts here too. It was hard at first for me to find a good Dominican Salon that I liked when I moved here from NY. I'm so glad I found her.

She does a very nice job, is very pleasant and doesn't take too long to accomplish very nice results. If there is any downside (which isn't her fault) is that the previous owner of a barbershop in this location apparently seemed to run the business into the ground. THAT IS NOT THE CASE NOW! Please give her a chance to show you what a nice, quick, inexpensive job she can do. You won't regret it!
