The best Salad Bar in the USA ! Love the staff and atmosphere. Great Steaks and Seafood.

Four of us ate there a few weeks ago. First impressions were not great as far as parking and the curb appeal: It's very rural in the woods so it's appropriate. The salad bar is the star of the show definitely. Lots of options as well as dessert. The salad bar is kept in a separate section of the restaurant with its own air conditioner so everything is kept nice and cool which was fantastic. You have to go early but be prepared to wait in line for the salad. A LONG line. The food from the menu was okay. Not great. read more

Service was ok but the food was disappointing. They were in the past a really good seafood place but no longer carry oysters, or scallops the shrimp were adverage in taste and size. The salad bar is the draw I guess it is big. Don't see us going back anytime soon. Which is a shame read more

We got here early as another reviewer advised, good call, lots of people come early. We were able to get inside and were seated about 4:45 they do not start until 5:00. The ambience is so interesting this gave me time to take pictures. Definitely love all the animals and the military commemoration. We ordered our food and went to the salad bar, 63 items on the salad bar, take two plates so you can get what you want and definitely go back for seconds. The very best of the best is the banana pudding. He ordered the porterhouse, I had the filet mignon and my daughter had the hamburger steak. The porterhouse was tender and very tasty, the filet was so delicious and needed no steak sauce or anything. We ordered ours medium rare and the cook did not disappoint, right on the money. A must go when I'm visiting my hometown. Their salad bar is THE BEST! lots of fresh made pasta salads and puddings too. Tip: get there early or there will be a long wait. We got there at 4:30 and they let us sit down but didn't start taking orders until 5pm. The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries are battered. We also got the fried shrimp and the salmon. Fries are fried like chicken tenders & they use a literal roll for the hamburger buns, even if u order a double hamburger/cheeseburger.

We want to support locally owner businesses but it's sad when we get better quality food and service at a lower price from a chain restaurant, Longhorn. We had a party of 14 that went and ate tonight, bill almost $600 with a gratuity of $90 added. Steak was tough and over cooked, sweet potatoes came out burnt, one shirmp was half the size of the chicken breast the served me for $18. When I asked the waitress if this was all the chicken I got for $18, her response was I don't make the prices. The price wasn't the issue... I don't mind paying the price when the quality is there. If you're going to cut quality then cut the price also. She said well the salad bar is $18, uh yeah I know honey. I can also go back as much as I want. This will be the last visit for me and my family. I'll make sure to tell everyone what to expect. High prices and low quality food/service. We'll make sure to game our business elsewhere read more

Great staff. Beyond excellent salad bar. Very cool place to be in, if you are very conservative. Love the sign outside that says you may carry on the premises. Definite Trump believers in this place. Ah well. Got catfish filets. HUGE. Cooked perfectly and still hot when on the table. Other folks also pleased with their chow, except the 2 guys who ordered steak. Both asked for medium rare and got well done. Give the steak was about a 1/4 inch thick, medium rare would be hard to do. One of the steaks was half a mass of tendons and fat. Literally. Not sure what the cook was thinking when it pulled it to cook. The poor steaks are the reason for 3 stars. read more

We were so disappointed in food and service. The only thing that was good was the salad bar. I know it is hot outside but it was way too hot inside and there was not that many people there. Grits and French fries were cold. Garlic shrimp had no taste and the steaks were not good quality. Out of the four of us, only one liked what he ordered. We thought the food was pretty bad. The fish was cold and dry and had no taste other than some dry rub they put on it. The ordered rare steak was medium well and not tender or juicy. The place was packed and the wait time for the food was a bit long. Salad bar was okay. The music was the best thing. Without exception the best salad bar ever. The facility is charming and well appointed with wildlife and great scenery overlooking a small lake/pond. I always get the prime rib and the host Bonnie Green really warms our hearts with hospitality. They have a musician there who is a local favorite too. read more

Awful! After an hour wait, we were excited to get the salad bar. Love the salad bar so the 1 star is for the good salad bar. Service was not the best. Started out good, gave drinks and ordered. Never saw her again. Another waitress kindly filled the drinks. The food came: I ordered the crab cakes which had mostly fillers, my hubby ordered the outlaw ribeye $42,99. It had No flavor and cooked in a skillet. My poor Mother in law ordered the Sirloin and it was so tough my husband had to cut it. She took a bite and it was nice t chewable. Had to chase down the waitress to get the bill. She saw the entire steak on the plate and didn't ask. When asked by hostess how our meal was as we were leaving, I told her one of the steaks was so tough it was not edible, her comment was sorry and walked away. I payed my $5 wine fee with my last meal so I feel the need to share. I pray that God grants the owners of CLSC the ability to empathize with their fellow human. I pray that he guides them to realize that their family, wait staff, and patrons may not be comfortable with the divisive symbols they idealize in their business. While it is their business and they can run it the way they please, it is a prayer for empathy that I share with them. We are all on this planet together. Men, women, gays, straights, blacks, immigrants and American Indians. The idolatry of symbols and leaders that promote a negative environment for our brothers and sisters is unChristian. I pray that in the name of Jesus the owners of CLSC will come to realize that a warm welcoming business to all our brothers and sisters and a Christian heart is the way forward. I also pray that the kitchen learn that some salt, dry meat, a little oil, and a hot grill is the proper way to sear a Delmonico steak. Lightly browning a steak is a waste of beef. Food is okay depending on what you order. Salad bar is pretty good. The main problem tonight was time management and service. Cedar Lane is a fantastic steakhouse just south of McRae off US 441. The Food... Huge salad bar, has a wide variety of pasta salads as well. Salad bar is included with all entrees. I usually have a Delmonico, it's always cooked to perfection. Shrimp are good here too. The homemade fries are delicious. Portions are generous. The Atmosphere... New cabin-style building secluded in some planted pines, overlooking a lake. Always packed every time I go. We usually get reservations, otherwise you might wait awhile on a table. With an all-wood interior, it can get a little loud. The Service... Usually a little slow, I'm assuming because it's always so busy. The last time we were there, we were told they had served 500 the night before. Just go in the frame of mind that you're going to have a great meal and you're not going to be in a hurry. The Price... About average in this area for a steak house. Around $15 for a meal. read more

Haven't been here in a long time. The salad bar is awesome, the steaks on the other hand are cut too thin to cook to medium rare. I had to send mine back because it was well done when I got the replacement half was medium rare and half was well done. I'd definitely come back but wouldn't order a steak. read more

For the area I think this is my favorite place to wine down and enjoy my supper. The aroma of the restaurant is good the landscape is beautiful and the staff are friendly and are willing to serve. The salad bar is the best there is!!! This is my favorite place to go!! I love the catfish, shrimp, seafood platter, beef tips with mushrooms and fried oysters!! I don't eat steak but my husband lives those. They have a great staff with friendly waitresses. It's a family owned family with the same cooks for the past 20 yrs! While camping at Little Ocmulgee State Park, we found this gem 10 minutes away. It is only open Thursday-Saturday nights , 5-9. We arrived at five and the parking lot looked almost full. The waitress told us that snapper was the special and they had a lot of T-bone steaks. We opted for salad bar and fries, and left very happy with our experience. Early birds are treated to cinnamon biscuits, as they only make one bowl each night. The salad bar was big with all the fixings plus many prepared salads such as cauliflower/broccoli, green pea, pasta, carrot, and congealed, just to name a few. And did I mention there was live music by a very good musician named Dr. Don? When we finished with our meal we went out back to the porch and fed the fish and turtles. That being said, if your political leanings are moderate to left, you probably shouldn't dine there if you are offended by an establishment that is exercising their right of free speech/press. read more

Beautiful setting in the woods, really it's in the woods between the road and a bunch of pine tree with a winding dirt road leading to it. The restaurant sits overlooking a nice lake setting. Huge salad bar for those that like that sort of thing but for me it's steak and fries! Try the Delmonico steak with the absolutely delicious french fries that are simply out of this world GOOOOOD!!! I usually get a double order of the fries but make extra sure you tell them to serve your fries in a side dish, otherwise they will get all soggy from all the nice steak juices and you will not be happy!!! Delmonico is a nice steak choice here with just the right amount of marble in the steak to give it nice flavor. Skip the fillet here, and try either the prime rib or the Delmonico. You will enjoy it and worth the drive, many people are driving from several counties over to come here. Me, I drive from Macon! Sometimes service is a tad slow on weekends, just come to enjoy yourself and don't get in a hurry...enjoy the meal that's eventually coming! We had tried it about 2 weeks before and while the salad bar was great the Shrimp tasted like they had been cooked and then cooked again very rubbery. We decided to get it another chance tonight and when we got there we signed in and watched other parties come in and be seated way before us and they had just walked in the door. Had to almost beg to be seated and that should have been our first clue to leave. Then we sat at our table for over 20 minutes with wait staff just walking by us and finally someone came and got our order thankful for the salad bar are we would have starved it took over a hour with them to bring our food. Observed people who came in way after we did order and got their food in about 20 minutes so we stopped 2 waitress asking about our food and got the run around before they would bring our food. So they will not every have to worry about us visiting again. Word of advise if they don't know you or you are not from around there be prepared to wait and have to ask for a table and also to be served and where you food is at. My steak came last bloody and no taste. So very disappointed and overpriced for the way we where treated. read more

Love this place. The biggest salad bar, with every topping you could imagine. The prime rib is out of the world and the battered french fries top it off perfectly! Only opened Thur, Fri and Sat from 5-9pm. No worries if you have a wait, the wrap around deck has plenty of seating and a gorgeous view. read more

I go to Cedar Lane for the salad bar. It is HUGE! The steak tips are also really good. We have had several birthday dinners with large groups here and they always have quick service. It is a good idea to call in advance with a really large group since they are usually busy! read more

This place use to be great but recently the last few Times we have been there the food has been horrible the steak is more like leather. :-(
