Luckily, it's a good option if you like simple, friendly little bars. The bar serves liquor and beer, the bartender was friendly, and the regulars all seem to be having a good time. The prices are reasonable and the jukebox was going all night. Their posted hours aren't exactly accurate. They advertise being open until 2am, but they seem to start closing up once everyone leaves. We got the signal that it was probably time to head out around 10:30 when we were the only ones left. I'm sure we could have stayed, but it seemed like the staff was ready to close and head out. Also, eat something prior to heading out. The bar does have some chips and snack stuff, but there's no regular food and the convenience stores close up at about 11 so if you're looking for late night food you're not going to find it after that without driving into the next town about 12 miles away. Overall though, this was a fun spot to spend the evening in.

I ordered a pound of pulled pork, a medium size potato salad, and a medium sized bar-b-que beans. Sam loaded me up! My wife and ate this delicious food for 3-meals! It's not far from the heart of downtown Live Oak and not far from the railroad tracks, either, of which you become quickly aware when a freight train passes by. Despite the small space, they have a pool table inside, a bar (of course) and that pool table doubles as a buffet table when they have potlucks and the like. There is apparently also an outdoor tiki bar area in the yard behind the building but I didn't go back there. Beer is the preferred spirit it seems and the crowd is about 99% locals, mostly middle-aged but some in their early to mid twenties. The theme therefore is country/biker to an extent but they were playing old hard rocks standards when I was there and then . . . something . . . not sure what it was, but some song I remember from the early 2000s that probably was Linkin Park or a band that copied Linkin Park. So aside from the B-list or C-list early 2000s blast from the past, a very cool and low-key bar in a very handy location in Live Oak.
