Yes, the dogs are crated when not being worked during short training sessions several times a day, so if that burns you, then go elsewhere. But really, where is the training facility or kennel for that matter that doesn't have to leave dogs mainly confined for safety reasons? I like to think of it as a dog boot camp. Your dog won't come back after 6 weeks completely fixed from every bad behavior and able to do everything a trained LEO dog can do. But you'll have a great baseline to continue to build obedience as you work and grow with your dog.

Dr. Zehr no longer sees patients at this practice and since his departure, it has gone dramatically downhill. Our first Goldendoodle had to be put down in 2016 and the practice was kind, caring and professional in every way. Sadly, that has all changed. Today, we took our second Goldendoodle (age 7) for a routine annual exam. She had no issues. The technician tried to drag her from the exam room to draw blood and utterly terrified this gentle, well behaved dog. When we addressed this with Dr. Curry, the response was somewhat defensive. Throughout the visit, there was no attempt to make our dog relaxed or comfortable; it felt like the vet and staff were in a hurry to get rid of us. We were floored, as this has, in the past, always been a kind, compassionate practice. Our dog left nervous and ill at ease, as were we. After over 17 years with this practice, we must fine a new vet. On top of all the lack of caring and defensiveness, the office gave the appearance of being very haphazard and disorganized. We had to walk our dog back to a room for drawing blood, passing an open door where another dog was being operated on in plain view. Completely unacceptable. Please think twice about taking your beloved pet to these folks. While there are still some good staff there, left over from Dr. Zehr's era, we strongly recommend against using them. It was an unnecessarily traumatic and unpleasant experience for us and our lovely dog.

First time we went to Saluda the girl who we asked about the feeder mouse was extremely rude and seemed like she couldn't care less about helping us. Today we went back to pick up a mouse and the boy who got them seemed like he hated his job and wasn't very pleasant. Then not even 10 minutes into the drive home the mouse starts spazzing out, possibly has a seizure, and dies. I have never had a mouse that I got from the place that's 45 minutes away die on me so I know that's not normal. So I definitely did not feed that to my snake. I will never go back to this pet store for anything ever again. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this place. Bad customer service, and obviously sick animals.
