If you've never been there, be sure to use your GPS so you won't miss the driveway. It is marked but I would guess you could easily drive past it as you enjoy the country scenery along the way. There is a nice, long driveway and a guard house to check in, to make sure you belong there. Very nice and elegant club house with probably 30' ceilings in the lounge area. Which, by the way, overlooks the 18th green. So if you're betting with the group behind you, you can stare them down as they try to make that last putt. I didn't give them 5-stars as the food we had was okay and not quite as fancy or tasteful as you would expect in a country club setting. The service was excellent and prompt and the other staff was willing to help or answer questions if you wonder around the clubhouse. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance, would probably be a great place to play a round if you get invited. Good luck and enjoy!

On one of my travel trips I got an opportunity to watch the PGA play at Southern Hills. A seller of…read moreours had some tickets and was kind enough to let us have some. I lived in Tulsa for almost 15 years but I had never been to this course. I'm not a huge golfer... in fact I am more of a non golfer, but I do like to watch the game. This was an experience I just could not pass up. Parking sucked! We had to go way off to the old promenade mall and park way out there. Then take the free shuttle back to the course. It was a time suck but for an event like this I think they did the best they could... and it was all free. The course was beautiful! Of course they did everything they could to make it as tip top as a caretaker could and in my opinion they succeeded. It was a really hot day... I mean HOT! Blistering in temp I melted little by little through out the day but I got to see several holes, some interesting players, and a beautiful course. It was worth the experience! Souther Hills is one of those places I imagine is a golfers dream... what a beautiful place to play!

Probably the best kept golf secret in the area…read more This is a well maintained course that provides a challenging experience with many risk-reward opportunities. The staff are great and tee times are easy to get. There are many tournaments and opportunities for fellowship. Membership fees are affordable and give access to a swimming pool, exercise and weight room, and tennis courts adjacent. The grill offers a tasty menu that is very affordable but, there is not a full service bar. Old farts play an early morning scramble tournament with randomly assigned teams giving the opportunity to win credits in the pro-shop with lunch included. The ladies have a similar tournament. Both offer the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. The only negative I have is that the club house facilities need some repair and upgrades. All-in-all a great value!

This was perfect for four adult brothers, spouses, and kids to come together and hang out. Food was delicious, drinks were decent, and fun times were had. Service was questionable to start but got better. We booked for an early Saturday afternoon, and there was only one person working front of house - the bartender. He was not visible at the moment we walked in and didn't appear for a little bit of time. It would have been nice to have a "receptionist" to get us set up while the bartender was busy. Once we got set up and the bartender returned things were better.
