Upon arrival we were told I'd get a text shortly when our room was ready. We waited at the Margaritaville Bar down the hall from the front desk. The male bar tender was friendly and made a great Bloody Mary. After our drink we returned to the front desk asking about our room. I was told the pre-register didn't go through for some reason, but our room was ready. She didn't know why we hadn't been alerted. Why bother if pre-registration doesn't work? Valet parking is free BUT you need a bellhop if you want your bags brought to the room there no wheeled luggage carts. He did bring our bags to the room but wasn't amiable. I still tipped him. Our large nicely decorated 2nd floor room had a king size bed and wall of windows overlooking the Arkansas River. Huge bathroom with tiled shower, vanity outside bathroom for makeup application, small refrigerator and coffee maker. The larger main casino allows smoking while Margaritaville casino is smoke free. Both have a good variety of slot machines, but we preferred the non-smoking Margaritaville. Their bar and restaurant are closer to the front desk/lobby also. We returned to the bar for a drink before dinner. Our previous male bartender was ending his shift, so a female bartender asked about drinks. We ordered two paid for them and relaxed while talking. She came back and took the cash in front of my husband off the bar. We tip, but that was money for another 2 drinks. She never asked if it was a tip she just took it. My husband was upset and stood up telling her you just made me mad and left. She asked why so I told her she'd taken the cash, and it wasn't a tip. She said I can fix it, but I told her she messed up and it was too late to fix and left too. We went directly to the Margaritaville Restaurant next to the bar, were greeted and seated in a booth by friendly staff. We ordered Margarita's and looked over the menu. Since the bar fiasco we weren't very hungry. We ordered two appetizers Ahi Poke Nachos and Drunken Shrimp Skillet. Nachos were our favorite; Drunken Shrimp Skillet was ok. Food was good service was great. The next day we went to Fireside Grill off the main casino for lunch. I ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich, he ordered the Goldrush Burger both came with fries. The meatloaf was very good, but the bread was too thick and crispy for my liking. I wish I'd ordered the meatloaf entree. Our young waitress was nice but definitely needs more training making trips to and from the table without taking dirty dishes or bringing coffee for refills. She was pleasant and trying her best. We used all the coffee pods in our room, so I called the front desk requesting more coffee and cups also. We never got them. During our two days I didn't see any cleaning people on our floor usually I just ask them for more coffee pods. At the ice machine down the hall there was a half-used water bottle that remained there our entire stay. The room and hallway were clean, but if you ask for coffee, cups or anything it should be taken care of. We won't go back. From the bad experience checking in, lack of attention to coffee requests, our very first stay left us feeling invisible. There were good staff, but not enough of them to make up for what wasn't taken care of. We chose this hotel due to a close proximity to the Looney Bin Comedy Club since we had tickets for a program there. We liked the Comedy Club but we'd choose another hotel if we return.

The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unfriendly. There were also maintenance issues: the safety deposit box was broken, the shower splashed water everywhere due to a poorly designed shower head, and the lighting in the room was inadequate. I needed a desk to work and asked to switch rooms again, but was told no in a way that felt unwelcoming. Overall, not a great experience. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The casino is small, and half of the machines are currently turned off due to the distancing suggestions; so be aware that you may have to wait awhile to play your favorite machine. Masks are suggested but not required. I would say up there, it's 50/50 on mask usage. We stopped into Roni Peppo's, which is currently open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for pizza. They didn't offer all of the topping options like normal, but they did have supreme, pepperoni, cheese, and a few other pizza options. For 9.00, it was sure a tasty pizza. I chose veggie. Love it when a veggie pizza has tomatoes on it. Gambling is subjective. You win or lose, and I don't feel you should ever rate a casino on whether you won or lost there. I happened to win a small jackpot, but I still rated the casino 4 stars because I do feel that they could offer more games than they do once they're back operational.

One, worked to a frazzle man, is bartending, taking food orders, AND delivering those food orders for room service! The Starbucks wasn't ever open at the advertised times. I went to have breakfast in their other restaurant and chose to order off the menu instead of the breakfast buffet, and that was a big mistake. The middle aged Asian man that took my order was sorely lacking in any customer service training. He brought me a room temperature coffee carafe that I sent back, then had to ask him 3 times if my omelette would be coming out soon. 45 minutes later he brings me an over cooked brown omelette and cold hash browns that had obviously sat around for quite a while. I took a couple bites and asked for my check. He couldn't care less. Now my room--the toilet flushing handle was just hanging out of its hole. Very difficult to flush without having to reconnect it each time. Pretty amazing that housekeeping didn't have that fixed. I called the desk to have it fixed and no one ever showed up. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. Too dim. My room faced a large empty parking lot area that had loud banging noises every night until 10-10:30PM EVERY night. This Marriott property needs a visit from their headquarters. Marriott should be embarrassed.
