You would think he would pop his head in say hey who he is amd hi to jasper. Nope they labeled him aggressive and were not gonna be friendly. Our experience at this veterinary clinic was heartbreaking. We brought our very sick dog in and asked about IV fluids and medication to keep her comfortable, but instead were told she needed overnight hospitalization, a blood transfusion, and several expensive treatments. We felt our concerns were dismissed and that we were being pushed toward costly procedures without trying simpler options first. We chose to get a second opinion, and at another clinic our dog received IV fluids and medication and improved significantly without needing those extensive treatments. We understand vets must make medical recommendations, but we left feeling that compassion and listening to our concerns were lacking. Brought our dog here as a walk in with an ear infection. It took forever but as a walk in I expected this. A few months later ear infection came back and I made an appointment this time. It still took a long time. I arrived early for the appointment. Ended up waiting 20-30 minutes just to get our name called. More waiting. Vet didn't even look at the ear this time, just took my word for it I guess. Back to the lobby and waited for the actual treatment. It took an hour and a half. Spent probably 60 minutes of that in the lobby. When they actually saw us it was quick, but all the waiting even with an appointment seemed excessive. read more

We have used this vet several times when our regular vet was closed, or otherwise unavailable. They do an absolutely outstanding job of emergency veterinary service, and not only do they allow walk ins, but they do a stellar job of getting walk in's seen quickly. The staff is careful, caring, and very competent. The can ensure that your regular vet gets a full report in whatever service they provide, and they are good at giving you options, and at telling you what you should do as a follow up to your visit. It's rare to find a vet so willing to provide high quality, wrap around service for a walk in client. We highly recommend these folks. read more

I am sharing this serious concern about the treatment I received from staff {JESSICA} at your Cedar Vet Hospital in Fresno .today July 26,2026. During my visit, the staff member was very rude and spoke to me in a harsh, unprofessional way. My dog was seen by Dr. Madsen on July 4th due to seizure issue, doc prescribed an anti seizure med good for 30 days and a follow up visit after. Made an appointment July 12 so went back because findings recommended to redo the lab test. appointment was 8:30, I am 50 min drive away since I'm from Lemoore Naval Air Station. I arrived 9am for the test and wanted to see a doctor at the same with some other concerns about my dog's loose stool with blood on it, I was terrified. Since I wanted to see a doctor they had me and my dog waited for hours. My dog didn't ate whole day whole night till we got seen in the afternoon that day because he needed to go on FASTING for the test. Despite arriving there early in the morning and my dog starving to death we ignored the wait because I'm focus on what needed to be done for my dog.When we were called we were seen by Doctor Wilkensen for his diarrhea since Doc Madsen was off. Doctor Wilkensen recommended me to see doctor Madsen after my dog's anti seizure for 30 days, she told me that the earliest available time for Doc Madsen is Aug 3. Due to the whole day and long wait I wasn't able to make the appointment as I needed to take care and drive my dog back home to Lemoore. Today July 26, I came by to Cedar clinic to drop my dog's FECAL sample. JESSICA the supervisor on the front desk talked rude and mean to me around these other dog parents. As a dedicated pet parent, this lack of empathy and respect made me feel very unwelcome and stressed during an already difficult time. I asked JESSICA to make an appointment with my dogs follow up visit under Doc Madsen since he was the first doctor who checked his SEIZURE problem and this JESSICA insisted to see Doctor Wilkensen and kept insisting SHE is the main doctor of my dog. I was trying to give her clarification that she wasn't, It was Doctor Madsen the main doctor that I wanted to make a follow up visit with but she still keeps insisting 'NO NO No! Doctor Madsen wasn't his main doctor but it's Doc Wilkinson. A behavior that I found it really weird knowing she's the supervisor. And she made us an appointment with Doc Wilkensen and told me to just refill med since she was available by Aug 8th the earliest and that's past the 30 day after his 30 day med. My concern was to get him seen earlier than that with Doctor Madsen and he's availability is even earlier than the other doctor. Doc Madsen is available on the 4th of Aug but JESSICA made it so complicated just for setting up an appointment. It was simple situation she wasn't able to handle.I don't understand how hard it was for her ,JESSICA to understood I'm making an appointment with DOCTOR Madsen not Wilkensen. One more thing, we the dog moms, we DESERVE to ask any questions about our dogs health especially when they're taking anti SEIZURE med but we DON't DESERVE to be answered and treated unprofessionally by this STAFF named JESSICA, being a SUPERVISOR as I once was, SHE should mentor and set herself as a good example to her co staffs. JESSICA should learn to wear her smile all the time and greet every patients who walks in. I wonder if she's a dog mom and have gone through this. No empathy that she ended up asking me if I still wana send her the stool sample of my dog which I found out so dumb to ask. Telling me I can't come to their clinic anymore and make an appointment and asked me to leave after I lost control and told her what an F service from her. Why the F did she talked to me like that. I will never be afraid to treat people the way they treat me. I love this clinic's care, but this behavior does not match that standard. I hope management talk with this staff member and make sure patients and their families are treated with kindness. We did a walk in visit due to an emergency lump that grew overnight on my older dog. When we went in the people on the counter had no remorse, I had to explain multiple times what was wrong, they just looked irritated that we were there. They informed us the walk in wait was about 5 hours, which we knew was gunna happen it was on a Saturday, I asked if we're able to come back does it hold the same spot they said if we leave outside they'll take us off the list. The waiting room was full my dog was standing in the corner uncomfortable. We just wanted her to relax but couldn't inside. Other vets we went to acknowledged the dog and talked to us nicely about the wait and how to keep her comfortable. The receptionists here need to do better. read more

There is a receptionist named Moriah. Very rudely on the phone she told us if we wanted to come in as a walk in to do so before 6:30pm. We went in by 5pm and she argued with another receptionist in the front to tell us to leave and make an appointment. As i asked to why i cant be seen, she rudely told us that they do not accept walkins too late anymore because the main doctor does not want to see no more pets for the night. Keep in mind they close at 8pm. And she kept telling us to leave with a bitch face and she yelled at her colleagues for helping us as if she ran the place herself. I have been bringing my pets here for 30 years..until today. Took my cat in last week and together we came up with a plan. Took him back today for the agreed follow up and staff and vet were so awful! Catheter was supposed to be removed today (as we had agreed upon) instead they insisted on additional labs and when we refused, vet refused to come back and discuss our original lab results or even to talk to us!! Instead made the comment "was done with us" in the hallway and told tech to have us sign an AMA form! We still had to ask to have the catheter removed which was done so carelessly and no heart! I am beyond angry and frustrated with this place and will never come back nor recommend to anyone. We still have a sick pet that we need to care for and they treated us like we were monsters for not being able to pay 100's of dollars. So disappointed read more

Get a second opinion and a place with reasonable prices. If you refuse surgery they will push for euthanasia and the extra costs. The words that come with just wanting to take your pet elsewhere ... like "he will be dead" by the time you do. I wouldn't say it's the only place but it is one of the fastest walk-in. Week days, walk-ins are always fast. Weekends, is a bit different. Majority of the weekends is busy and the wait time is longer. INTERIOR : Nice and simple modern interior. The 2 middle wooden seats are wobbly. The smell in this hospital is not pleasant at all. It smells like pee everywhere. Even in the little rooms smells like pee. They only have one guest bathroom and you have to ask for permission to get in. RATE : 2/5 SERVICE : Their service is fair. Everytime when I come here I don't feel connected with the vet at all. I don't feel like I can truely trust them. Sometime i felt like they add stuff that you don't even need. But I'm glad that they don't pressure you to get it too. Today's service was quick. The MA's were friendly. My little 4 years old shihtzu is getting her allergy checked up, and nail trim. Dr. Ralph was quick and knowledgeable. He explained what could have possibly happened to create this situation. He has such a great, gentle, and possitive interaction with my pet. He did a quick checkup and left. I wish he could have been more thoroughly and check every corner or her skin. I paid to see a doctor and that should have always been included. When the medical assistant came back with the list. It's shockingly nearly $900 for a listed of products and fees. I declined majority of it. The MA seems a bit uncomfortable. I took what I need and is satisfied with what i spent today. OVERALL : All vets are fairly almost the same. I suggest just opt what is needed rather than say yes to what they give you. I felt like they'll milk you if you don't know what you need. I also suggest to ask as many questions you want and need while the doctor is there just to give you an idea of what you will need when they give you your bill. And yes, go in on the week days for less wait time for walk-ins. read more

This place deserves zero stars for how disrespectfully I was treated. I showed up at 8:00 AM for a confirmed 8:10 spay appointment for my cat. The doors were locked, and staff showed up late. When we finally walked in, the front desk girl immediately snapped, "You're crowding," in the most condescending tone -- as if we were doing something wrong just for waiting outside their office to open. No greeting. No professionalism. I told her we had a spay appointment, and she rudely cut me off with, "We don't spay on weekends," even though I had text confirmation from their own number giving pre-op instructions. She didn't bother to listen or help -- just rolled her eyes and acted like I was bothering her. They had asked me for all my cat's info via text, but none of it was in the system. After all that, when I declined to reschedule for months later, I walked away and forgot my ID. She sarcastically said, "Do you not want your ID?" Her attitude was beyond rude -- cold, sarcastic, and unhelpful. She made it clear she didn't care about helping or even being polite. I've never been treated with so much disrespect at a vet office. I thought the over all experience was terrible. We travel throughout the country and have been to a few Vets for both my fur babies (1 cat and 1 dog) and this experience was the worst so far! I arrived at 8am when they open. I was ignored until it was my turn to sigh in. I was placed in a room and was greater by a very nice Vet assistant but the wait to meet the actual Vet too an hour an no one came in to let me know where I was on the list. I could only get help when I expressed my frustration about the wait time. I understand I knew I would wait a while became I didn't have an appointment, but to not get a check in was unprofessional. When the Vet finally arrived, he spend all by 3 mins with us vaguely listening to my concerns. He checked my puppy out and said okay they will be back in with my recommendations. The only helpful Vet assistant came back with a pricey list of recommendations that I thought was over kill for my puppies GI inflammations. I did not think 4 injections to my 8 pound puppy was the correct diagnosis so I looked up every recommendation and only found one that she truly needed. The only helpful Vet assistant confirmed my chose and saved me thousands. So beware! This place will charge you for unnecessary diagnosis with no structure reason. They do not care about your fur baby only money. If you decided to take your pet here I would recommend you get a second opinion before proceeding! read more

Update: Cedar is our go to vet. They are a bit pricier due to being open later on most vets, but they will work with you and options if you need. One service they offer that is not listed is cremation. Our cat of 15 years, Nana passed away naturally at our home on 1/29/25. We didn't know Cedar offered cremation services so we called Coda with her body still in my arms and got disconnected. We walked into Cedar and they quickly took care of us. They offered public cremation where pets are cremated with others and they spread their ashes and private cremation which you get a wooden box with their ashes. We opted for the private cremation and her paw print. They included her nose print as well as her fur. I think she was lighter than 11lbs, but that's what I said she was and it costed around $290. They said 15 days, but it was quicker. Thank you Cedar Vet for taking care of my baby. I'm so glad she is home now. read more

Took my pup recently to establish care,wellness exam, and final vaccines. The wait was longer than I expected considering we made an appointment. But it was a Saturday and they were pretty busy. The long wait wouldn't have been as bad if I had gone alone, but no sitter and had to take my four kids, that's on me. The facility was very clean, I was not expecting that when I went in judging by how it looks outside and the area it is in. The staff is very nice. The doctor was also nice. She asked important questions, specifically to the breed we have. She wanted us to understand what the breed is like, health issues it may tend to have, what kind of coat it has and what to expect in terms of grooming, wanted to know how training exercising and enrichment is going and wanted examples of what we're doing at home. She made it clear she cared about the health of our pet, wasn't just trying to rush us out. The prices were fair, and they made it easy to pay, they come into the exam room first with an itemized statement and pricing and ask what you would like to proceed with. They don't just do all the tests and things and then hit you with a bill at the end. Ethical practice in my opinion. They are under construction, it looks like they are adding a grooming wing, and a boarding wing to the hospital. Kind of a one stop shop. Seems like a good idea. If your pup needs a vet in an emergency while at the groomer, or while you're out of town, they're right next door. Gives peace of mind. In all we had a great first experience. I would give negative stars if I could. Gave medication to my dog without doing blood work and he ended up getting elevated liver issues. Then prescribed medication for my cat that when you look up says do not give to elderly cats. She was fine when she went in and now she is pulling her hair out and won't eat. read more

After paying hundreds of dollars for my dog's care (nail removed 600) I expected a basic level of thoroughness, especially when it came to removing her cast. Shockingly, not only was her paw left uncleaned after the cast was removed, but this task was also carried out by the front desk staff, not a medical professional. (Cierra) Allowing someone without proper training to perform a medical procedure, particularly with VERY LONG ACRYLIC NAILS, let alone performing on the computer desk with her unsterile hands that's been on her keyboard all day. Brought our cat in because she was bleeding quite a bit. They checked her breathing and said she was fine as a walk in and non emergency. We waited over 4 hours just to be taken to a room. While we waited, people were coming in as walk ins for vaccinations and being taken back within a half hour. While our cat was bleeding everywhere in her travel box. When we were finally seen in our room after waiting another hour, they wanted a list of things to do that were going to cost at minimum of $1300. I don't think so. I told them to do the ultrasound and urine analysis to start. They finally got that done and then rushed us to check out. Come to find out we ended up being the last one seen after a total of 6 hours. They were even cleaning the other rooms while we were still waiting. Our puppy got sick at 11 weeks after first series of shots. I spent an hour calling around trying to get him seen but no one would see him as a walk in on a Friday. I finally found this place. They gave me an estimated wait time and we were seen in about half the time. By the time the Vet came in he was tested and positive for parvo. We were given a few options for treatment and cost. We ended up going with the most aggressive and expensive he ended up staying for 48 hours of fluid and medication. He has been doing well since. We had a follow up with the vet in 48 hours for a recheck. The follow up visit cost us 24 dollars which was a nice surprise. The overall cost was similar to someone who posted earlier but for everything that was done and for us bringing home our puppy it was well worth it. read more
