This is a small winery on the Fresno Blossom Trail and it's definitely worth a visit. There's a quaint outdoor seating area with sofas and chairs. During our visit, there was a party with tables and seats set up on the lawn. The tasting room is rustic with some seating and a record player and crate of records. Guests are encouraged to bring their own records too. The tasting fee is $10 and you get to try about 6-7 wines. I don't drink but I enjoyed sitting outside and soaking in the view. Hubby really enjoyed the wine and bought several bottles. Coming from the bay area where Napa wines are pretty pricey, these wines were a real bargain at about $30 or less a bottle. read more

Really enjoyed our visit here on a Sunday afternoon in August. Very friendly welcome and service for a tasting flight. Lovely tasting room and patio. Great view of their vineyards and the foothills. Very friendly service. $8 tasting for 6 pour, each pour is not like 4 oz quantity but I like the fact that it's not expensive and gives me the right amount to taste without getting me drunk. Alicante Bouschet is their special grape per some websites but the staff told me their most popular is actually Syrah. We found the rose pleasant, the Grenache and Mourvèdre too weak, Alicante Bouschet started with too much tanning but after some swirl started to have a slight sweet aftertaste, and Syrah disappointingly not full body. The view at the backyard is very nice overlooking the mountains and fields of the vineyards as well as the blossoms. They have cozy sofa ladies out for couples and families. read more

Unassuming but not to be missed. Cedar view sit on the doorstep to the central Sierra Nevada range. Your approach may lead to questions but as make the turn to the tasting area on a clear day the will be answered by the view of the foothills and the staff. The view is amazing. Just start there. The wines are mostly Rhone style with lots of oak aging to soften and round them out. For a moderately sized mostly estate winery they have a great selection wines from some less common varietals. In the whites and reds balance was a theme throughout. The flavor profiles ranges from sweet to pepper with strong fruit notes. The lounge area was shaded well with cushioned seating. Israel was attentive while juggling a few large groups. He was helpful, excited and knowledgeable about the estate and wine. Overall a great experience I would recommend and go back for. read more

While traveling along the Fresno Blossom Trail, we stopped by this winery for a quick break. The majestic Sierra-Nevada mountains range provided a beautiful backdrop for the vineyard and we enjoy the view very much. On this day, the winery was offering a tasting of five wines for $3 per person. I like the fruity Viognier and the smooth Sequoia Summer blend. There was also samples of a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon laced cheddar in the tasfting room. The owner was serving the wine personally, so he answered all our questions about the wine. He was very friendly, and when a fellow taster asked for recommendations to other wineries in the area, he was ready to help! Overall, great view, good wine and friendly staff. Had a hard time planning a mid week, Valentine's Day, 20th anniversary getaway, until I stumbled upon this amazing hidden gem! We couldn't go far from home due to our children's hectic schedules, and thought we would not be able to celebrate this milestone, until I found Cedar View Winery! The Bed and Breakfast is so perfect. We felt like we were at the coast far from home! Everything from the drive, to the beautifully decorated room, huge bathroom with shower and spa tub was perfect. Fruit and wine in room, plus couples massages, and a soak in the huge jet tub made our night one to remember. We cannot wait to go back and spend more time there! Very cool place didn't know we had something so close to home. Good selection of wine, most of the grapes grown fairly local. Lady working was knowledgeable of the wine she was serving and very helpful. Bottle prices where very fair. Took home one of there mixed grape wine. We had our small wedding ceremony and reception here in August. We chose the property because of the bed & breakfast and it's proximity to the Cedar View Winery. We were happy to purchase all three rooms for that night since both our Officiant and Matron of Honor with their spouses, were coming from over an hours drive distance. The rooms were very well and thoughtfully appointed. The bed was just okay, but the room was very clean. The breakfast was uncomfortable, as well, as the couple hovered over us in silence. It was really weird. In all my other B&B experiences, the owners have been overly friendly and welcoming. This couple was a complete departure from that. Breakfast was barely palatable, the saving grace was the portions were so stingy and small. The owners were inexcusably rude to every wedding guest we spoke with. Not a one received a warm welcome to their property -- including the bride, the officiant, the coordinator/Matron of Honor, photographer, make-up and hair designer, parents of the groom, etc... not to mention the dear and special guests who traveled from far away places to share our very special evening with us. Their wedding night attire was completely inappropriate, even for a small, casual wedding such as ours. They wore the shorts and t-shirts they had sported all day. When we arrived the morning of the wedding to deliver rentals and chairs, the property was filthy. My brother and the Matron of Honor's husband swept as much dust and cobwebs as they possibly could. The owners made no apologies, nor did they offer to take over or even help. During the meeting we requested to discuss our disappointments, especially the rudeness shown to our guests, they were completely defensive and told us our guests were liars. [I refuse to believe the 70-year-old twin sister of my deceased mother who had driven with her two granddaughters all the way from Reno to be with us would lie about the snarky comment she received when she asked for help from the owner.] Then she belittled us and the situation by accusing us of seeking "compensation" which we were NOT! A personal letter of apology from them to each guest they offended would have fit the bill! I'm not at all sure why our experience was so completely different from many other reviewers. read more

We were at the Schoolhouse Restaurant up the street and decided to stop in and taste some wine. The place is easy to miss. Look for a small driveway with a sign, then drive to the back building, park then walk around to the back! Once you get there, you will find a nice patio with lots of seating, some gorgeous views of the vineyards and the foothills, and a nice little tasting room. We went in a did some tasting and discovered that the guy pouring our wine was actually the guy in charge of the vineyards! A first for me in all the tasting rooms I've been to. So we had a great conversation about how grapes are grown, how the vines are pruned, when they are pruned, etc, etc. Very fascinating and educational. We ended up buying two bottles and taking them home on the bike with us. My only grip is that tasting was $5 (which is cheap) but they don't waive it if you actually buy wine, which most wineries do. That little gripe aside, our experience here was excellent! read more

A local winery specializing in Rhone wines! The alicante bouchet grown here is a unique varietal, big and bold but surprisingly light; I was glad to have a chance to try it. The rousanne and the things they did with Lodi zin knocked my socks off though, so they'll be a great investment. Good people here and the winemaker is a real fount of knowledge; it's pretty interesting getting to hear about graftings from a guy who's done it. read more

It comes down to this: truly, truly excellent wine. We ordered a case, and especially loved the Zin and the Syrah. Jim gave us a private tour of the winery, which is beautiful, and the tasting room is lovely. Totally recommend this place, and the wine is phenomenal. I also want to recommend their attached B&B, Sequoia View. We stayed there for a night in the Alicante Suite, which was perfect. A cottage all to ourselves at a great rate, and a little sofabed for our daughter. Breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Debbie made a fresh nectarine tart and a strawberry crumble, with fresh squeezed juice... It was delicate, sophisticated, fresh, and delicious. We all loved every bite. Gorgeous main house, and all around a lovely stop on our California trip. read more

She was very accommodating and even brought us phone chargers. The wine was wonderful and the accommodations we very well maintained. I had my wedding here in May of 2012, and it was perfect. I will be here every three months, with my husband, our future children, and anyone wise enough to follow us. The price? An absolute bargain. Unbelievable as a bed and breakfast. Huge rooms, huge breakfast, discerning staff. Their wine is award winning and outrageously good (and underpriced)! At my wedding: not only did I get to bring in rentals without a hassle (the day before and everything!), I got to pick them up the next day. Whenever. I did it before noon, but it didn't seem to matter. It is farm pace out here, not Fresno Frantic, which some people seem to need. On the day of my wedding, the facility provided four people to pitch tents, set out tables, put out chairs and move thousands of pounds of equipment and necessities, free of charge. Free. Never said anything other then 'does this work for you?'. Yes, there was dirt. It is a winery. Which is a farm. Farm, farms have dirt. If you are going to complain about dirt at a winery, you must be one of those people that would get married on the beach and complain about the sand (pro tip: don't complain about dirt at a farm. You seem pretentious. Or stupid. I'll let you choose). To come here is to escape reality. A world where you remember how important escape is. These are salt of the earth owners: gracious, kind, gentle and with a ready and steady laugh. After ten visits, I honestly question anyone who doesn't see it. Come here and enjoy the wonderment and beauty of this place, not to mention the delicious and multiple award winning hand crafted wines. read more

Very disappointed with the service. When the rude owner is pouring, one would think she would want to talk about their wines in a friendly manner. Conversing with the customers is a big selling point for me The wines are really good and the winery should show some pride in what they are pouring. Cedar View is a very small family owned winery with its ups and downs. The Viognier, Alicante, Cab and Syrah are fairly good. Not bad for Central Valley. The Cab Cheddar is good as well. However, there is one particular staff member who isn't the nicest..I've been to cedar view twice and had the same experience with her. Not very generous with the pours and she isn't too gracious when it comes to general customer service. The grounds aren't breathtaking either. Overall, Cedar View's wines would never be able to keep up with wines from Napa or Temecula--if it weren't convenient/close for something for my friends and I to do, I wouldn't go out of my way to go. read more
