Because we do not know much about Middle-Eastern cuisine, we had plenty of questions, and the employes at this family-run market were patient and took the time to answer our questions in a friendly manner. I love this place! I live one town over and I wanted to find some ethnic restaurants. After doing some research on the web, I went to check it out. How amazing to have found it in Norwood! The food is wonderful! BEST Falafel ever: it is crispy and so tasty! Love the beef shawarma too! The sweets are fresh and delicious. The best baklava I have ever had! I love stumbling upon grocery stores like Cedar's Market (and I was literally stumbling because the laces on my new shoes broke as I was walking down the hill toward the store!). Huge assortment of Middle Eastern goodies. I was very tempted by several items but had to be realistic and determine if I'd actually use it in the near future. Be sure to check the sell by dates as we were about to purchase a bag of red dates til my friend shook it and you could see they were moldy. Aisles are somewhat cramped so browsing is somewhat difficult. They've got a huge selection of bakery goodies. We tried two that were absolutely delicious. You can purchase semi warm meals and previously cooked meals but we decided to do that another time. Interesting place that I'll definitely return to. read more

It's not everyday that you can get a hookah at the grocery store. Cedar's is on my regular shopping rounds now. First I replenish my supply of olive oil - (they often know the person who made it in Lebenon). Then I go to the olive bar where they offer a half dozen or so types of olives (my kids can easily tell the difference between the taste of these vs. Star Market's offering). After that I just wonder the isles - they have so many exotic items including wines from the southern Mediterranean, all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, meat, and cheeses. They also have sandwiches, meat pies and delicious desserts. They can also provide catering for parties which worked out great for my Greek father-in-law's birthday. read more

A 5 out of 5 for the falafel sandwich I just had from Cedar's. Also the spinach pie was a nice side to the sandwich. Really fresh ingredients and great bread. This was my first time getting takeout from here. If you appreciate good authentic Middle Eastern food then take the time to try this place out. It's takeout only as it's also a small grocery store. Stopped into Cedar Market the other day because I kept hearing about these little pizzas they make there. Instead of going to dunks I got a ham and cheese pizza at Cedar for breakfast and it was sooooo good! Nice thin ham slices and the cheese was extra gooey. It was a pretty big pizza for myself I couldn't finish it but I was very full for the rest of the morning into lunch time. I will definitely be back to try some more Lebanese goodies from their kitchen. The market has a huge assortment of sweets so I will definitely have to be back for some of those! read more

I am a customer and I shop at Cedars at least once a week. I usually don't buy pastry or baklava from them because I do know it's not well made and may be a mediocre taste. Well my wife said she wants some baklava and I asked the clerk if it's fresh and made recently, his answer was ohhhhhhhh yes it was made yesterday, so I bought a tray. The baklava was very dry, no taste and cheap made. I just don't understand how they deceive their customer in this way. However if they don't put their act together , I guarantee you that their days are numbers, since there is a big upset among customers from the community around them. read more

This place is overpriced in many items and they do not keep their shelves properly stocked or even bother to dust. They have good cookies, but they are expensive and sold by the pound. The shwarma is decent, but ive noticed on several occasions that it doesnt matter if you are waiting in line and your turn comes up, someone will always be allowed to cut you off, nudge you out of the way and rattle off their order in arabic, as if you arent even standing there. I guess first come first serve, means nothing in this place, as long as you speak arabic! read more

Oh my god, the kibbe eggs are absolutely delicious and taste just like my grandmother's. One star lost because the lady at the counter was super rude, but definitely not enough of a problem to keep me from going back and buying more!! I recently had Cedar's Market/Too Beruit cater my party for 65 people, the food was amazing !!!! Everything arrived on time, hot and the presentation was beautiful !!!! They were so easy to work with, anything I wanted was possible. I would recommend them to all !!!!
