One of the guys who is a Verizon specialist was on the radio with my female employee today but we couldn't talk to him because he was doing nothing in the Verizon area.... Except answering lame questions from the employee in front of me. All in all I will NEVER, EVER, buy anything from this company regardless!! A load of lame clueless employees who just say what they think you want to hear.

Aside from the multiple apartment complexes towards the rear, the shopping center has several big box stores and several smaller stores and quite a lot of restaurants. From Best Buy and Target and TJ Maxx, you'll also find Olive Garden, Wendy's and a Kroger. Belk and Men's Wearhouse and Kay Jewelers and Bath & Body Works. Regal Cinemas and way much more. I think this must have been built recently as it's all in very good condition. The lots are tidy and level. The parking space lines are clear and bright. Located just off of Vietnam Veterans Parkway, The Streets of Indian Lake features local and chain shopping and restaurants, along with a movie theater, a gym and great outdoor event and entertainment space. Parking is plentiful with spots directly in front of all businesses, plus lots surrounding the perimeter of the plaza. We usually pop in to grab a movie, and on occasion grab some ice cream or possibly dinner. Never a shortage of options for whatever you are after. The space and majority of the outlets are well kept and clean. My only gripe is the exit back out to Indian Lake Boulevard. The intersection before the light always backs up and the turning lane is small and singular, creating a constant backlog of cars that forces most to sit through the light multiple times. True story: when I was planning…read moreon moving back to Nashville after [redacted[ years away, pulling in to the Hill Center shopping area made me want to move back to Green Hills -- despite the traffic pitfalls of the neighborhood.* Everything was so new, nice and pretty. Even though this was a new construction, it made sense for Green Hills and fit so perfectly. And even though the majority of the residents were chains (I'm guessing you need big money to afford this kind of rent), the stores were all appropriately suited for the area and all fit in to the complex. I'm not much of a shopper, but the Hill Center has sucked me in to buy furniture, food, clothes, gifts, and groceries. I'm surprised by how often I find myself here -- especially given that I don't live that close to the complex. I'm telling you: that's the power of pretty. After spending some time in Brentwood and marveling at the Hill complex there, I'm convinced that the Hill folks have the aspirational-yet-accessible aesthetic down to a science. *Some of the worst, most distracted drivers in the 615.

Hillsboro Plaza is no exception. This diverse strip mall includes Ten Thousand Villages nonprofit international gift shop, Wolf Camera, Ginza Japanese restaurant, Uptown Smoke Shop, New Way Cleaners, Levy's clothing store, BA Framer, Great Harvest bakery, Chinatown restaurant, and the Donut Den. I've never eaten at the restaurants here, but I highly recommend Ten Thousand Villages and the Donut Den, which is open until midnight every night! Depending on the time of day, you may have to wait in line to turn out of Hillsboro Plaza onto Hillsboro Pike, but the wait probably won't be as bad as it looks. The parking lot is oddly designed and small relative to the size of the shopping center, but if you just use caution there, you'll be fine. It's located near Hillsboro High School, so it gets busy around here when school is letting out.

I like the idea of the Idea Hatchery. This stretch of Woodland is full of 'hidden' businesses that…read moreblend in with the older homes on the street. Because of the name, I guessed the Idea Hatchery was a shared workspace or a writing collective. It *only* took me [redacted] years to get out of my car and walk in to see what's what. Flanked by an antiques shop and an art gallery (if you've done Tomato Arts Fest you know right where this is), the collective's appearance is a bit nondescript but that makes the discovery all the better, no? Inside the threshold are eight uniquely (east) Nashville businesses. As an incubator, the Hatchery is a perfect spot to test out concepts and gain sea legs before opting for a bigger location or an expanded footprint. It's a great go-between from online/out of the house to stand alone brick and mortar. I believe this is the spiritual parent to the Shoppes on Fatherland. Right now the current occupants tend to skew a bit 'female' in what they do (fashion, art, etc.) but that's not to say that there isn't a lot for a number of demographics to choose from. Selfishly, I'm hoping that some sort of food/treat business takes up residence in the shops. Toffee? Taffy? Shaved Ice? I can keep going folks. Actually, an old-timey, regional candy store would fit in well. Boom. I just found your newest tenant. Sort of. East End has a lot of fun businesses to explore. Next time you're in the neighborhood, scoot just a bit past that (locally) famous intersection and get a taste of what the area has to offer. I think you'll enjoy what you find. At the very least, it's a nice way to pass the time on a lazy weekend day.

Conveniently located, it is walking distance to Music Row, Belmont, Vandy and the Gulch; it is the best kept secret to urban living with a suburban feel. Plus... you can still find parking! Most (if not all?) of the businesses housed within are local. The boutiques have great products, and I am a huge bubble tea fan so Fat Straw is a great treat for me (just remember it's cash only!). The tall building, as Declan mentioned, is a renovated industrial space. They kept just enough of the rough edges while redecorating to keep it interesting and unique. If you interested in passing time some afternoon, Edgehill Village is definitely a good place to do it.
