Beautiful venue with stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay--perfect for photos and celebrations. The space was very clean, well-organized, and everything ran smoothly according to schedule. The staff was friendly, the drinks were great, and the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were enjoyable. However, the main entrée was below average--it wasn't served warm and lacked flavor. Beautiful venue on the water. There is a parking lot out front. Venue is on the water and has a huge window display with an outside deck that allows you to see the water! It's so pretty!! Almost two years later and I still day dream about our picture perfect wedding at Celebrations at the Bay. We got married on the deck overlooking the gorgeous bay on a hot but calm day in September. Our reception was in the ballroom and we couldn't have been happier with the food, drinks and atmosphere. One of the great things about Catering by Uptown is that they take care of everything! Venue, linens, food, drink, cake. It's a one stop shop. While it's a bit pricey on weekend evenings, we opted for a Sunday night wedding with 110 guests and saved quite a bit of money. Of all the venues we looked at, Celebrations had the best bang for your buck when it comes to food and drink. It's always an open bar and you get to choose a TON of food. Your guests will leave stuffed. If you get married here, you MUST get the lobster bisque martinis. We had crab cake and filets for our entree. They were also accommodating with kids meals and dietary restrictions. Our cake was beautiful and delicious. We had the lemon cake and it was light and not dry at all. They got our design just right and didn't charge extra for it. They also throw in chocolate covered strawberries and a coffee bar. A couple of notes. My one complaint was that it was really hot in there and we had to put some fans on toward the end of the night. Luckily, the deck is open so people can hang out there too and get a breeze off the bay. I also wish they'd get rid of the mirrors in the ballroom. They're not needed, the room is rather large. This is a great venue for a wedding, one of the best I have ever seen. It is pretty much one stop shopping here, which must be a relief for any bride (let's face it, most grooms would rather be watching football or hoisting some beers with the boys than planning a wedding).. However, this venue will serve to bring everyone together wedding planning joy. It has two location options: inside the hall or outside in the tent. If you have a Farmer's Almanac at hand, check the weather and for the outside wedding with a tent, for with good weather this offers the best view and most romantic option. The tent also comes equipped with an excellent sound and light system which makes for some pretty cool dancing. This venue also handles catering and offers tastings once a month where potential brides and grooms can sample delicious samples of fare to be served at the wedding. My best friend want to show me the venue, and we inadvertently found ourselves at one of these tastings, She was a little upset that they hadn't informed her of the tasting, but I saw it as one for the plus column as i was able to sample sum yummy chocolate-covered strawberries that were monstrous in their perfection. Oh, and they had lobster bisque!!!! "Why no, I am not the happy groom, but I will help myself to another martini glass of this creamy bisque." The wedding planner chats me up about advantages of their spectacular location, but I am too engrossed in my bisque to hear what she is saying,,,her voice sounds like that teacher from Charlie Brown. "Yes, that all sounds great, my dear," I respond robotically, as the lobster bisque begins to make my eyes roll back up into my head just like Homer Simpson eating a doughnut. I slurp down my second glass and hand it to her. "Wonderful, tell me, you do plan to have an unlimited supply of this delicious bisque at the wedding?" I can see that my question confuses her a bit, (she may have saying something about music, I'm not sure) but I'm in a state of Bisque Bliss, and I know that she will recover. I look over toward my friend and toast her with third glass of lobster nirvana, saying, "Oh, this is the perfect spot for your wedding, buddy." She laughs and shakes her head, but that is ok,for I have secured on of the most important elements of any sea side wedding....Oh, yes my friends, there will be bisque.. read more

The upside of this place is that it is on the water. Which is really nice. The downside is that it is next door to another wedding venue and you will hear someone else's wedding going on during yours. You come here for the view, definitely not the food. This location is a perfect spot for celebrations such as weddings. The staff here are very friendly. We did not use their services, but attended a wedding here. My friend used their services and if you plan on having a wedding here, please note that they will provide an in house wedding coordinator when you use heir services. However, if you are having an ethnic wedding, you might need to have another coordinator in case they don't follow the types of events for your wedding. Please note that most parking is on the grass especially if you have a larger party. There are several spots where you can have the wedding. They also have a huge tent where you can have the wedding service / reception. One thing about this venue is the limited bathrooms. I believe there are a total of 6 bathrooms so consider that when you make your reservations. In terms of environment, they are literally by the water so you can definitely get in some great shots. In terms of catering, the food here were pretty good. Their cocktail hours do include drinks and delicious finger foods. Their dinner options of buffet is not too bad. Overall, this place is great for celebrations. Keep in mind that the pricing here might be high as they are by the water and have a lot of good qualities in here. I attended a wedding with a really good old friend since he needed a plus one at the last minute and I must say I loved it! The drive is approximately 1 hour from DC (NE quadrant) heading north east to the Chesapeake Bay, so be prepared and plan accordingly. The parking lot is a bit small if you're having a large event such as a wedding, so definitely try to car pool or bus guests in for your event. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for an outdoor wedding as it has an amazingly romantic view of water. The outdoor wedding location is perfect for a romantic view of the bay while sharing vows The reception area was quite lovely too, which seemed to accommodate approximately 10-15 tables of 10 guests comfortably. Now on to the food....it was delicious! I wanted to snap a quick pic of the food/presentation, but did not want to be rude. We were served grilled salmon marinated in lime and cilantro topped with a tropical pineapple and mango sauce, with salad and veggies. It was very tasty! The service was also top notch. Attended a corporate event there as a guest. What an amazing view!! So beautiful, can stare at the water all day. Service was wonderful, food was surprisingly FANTASTIC! Typically, places like this don't bother having great food. They get away with average because the view is the focus. Not this place!! The food was incredible. I can only hope that I get invited to a wedding here some day so I try more elaborate food. Since this was a corp event, it was mostly cocktail style food. Celebrations at the Bay is amazing! We attended a 11:00am wedding on a chilly March day and we were a bit bummed that the cold weather moved the ceremony indoors, but everything worked out perfectly. The view of the bay was great, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food (Brunch) was OUTSTANDING!! The bride was running about 30 mins behind which delayed the start of the ceremony, but the staff was extremely understanding and constantly reassured the bride that this was her day and the ceremony would start only when she was ready. Not once did the wedding activities feel rushed, everything flowed naturally and seamlessly. Celebrations has multiple configurations and ball rooms to accommodate parties of any size. I would most certainly recommend Celebrations at the Bay to anyone looking for a venue for wedding/wedding reception or any other formal event. read more

Wow!!! What an amazing place!! I attended a wedding and reception here. It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect for the outside ceremony. The food was delicious. And the staff were on top of everything. It's my understanding that it was a bit pricey but if you are wanting a very nice wedding if recommend this place. My only complaint and the reason for only giving it four stars is they should redo the restrooms. They are very small and spread all over the place. When you have that many people drinking it seemed to cause a little issue. read more

Their customer service has been poor with not allowing refunds to wedding parties who couldn't get married due to COVID. We postponed the wedding once for three months out and the social distancing didn't allow for my wedding size of 114 and they still wouldn't refund our money. They only offered to keep moving the wedding out which is detrimental for a bride. No telling how long this will impact the availability for a large wedding to be held in 2020. I will be writing complaint letters to news channels, state of Maryland. Truly disappointed. Dissatisfied patron. read more

I had my wedding here last week. In a word.....wow! And I'm not easily impressed. Backstory, same-sex couple together for 25 years finally getting legally married. We looked at Celebrations and thought it would be good as they handled everything. Eileen, our coordinator, was great. They did not try to up sell us on anything and worked with our budget. We got our own DJ and photographer and everyone worked well together. The day of the wedding, Eileen and Celebrations pulled out all the stops. Incredible food and drink. We had family there from Minnesota and Massachusetts and there were so impressed. Celebrations signature lobster bisque really impressed the Bostonians in attendance. We lucked out on a sunny day, but we wanted for nothing. Celebrations was the best return we have gotten on an investment in many years. We hosted our daughter's wedding at Celebrations at the Bay on 8/3/14. Is it out of the way? You bet! Is it worth the trip and a hidden gem? You bet! The view and grounds were outstanding. Every single guest was blown away by the entire evening. The ballroom looked magical, thanks to our choices from the seemingly 1000's of decor options. The food was exceptional - as delicious as it was at the formal tasting event. The wait staff was professional yet friendly. Their have been so many quests telling me how rude the bartenders were and to see workers pictures posted on the photos from the photo booth unacceptable !!! They promised to work within our budget and then gave us a proposal that was 10 grand over what they said it would be. There's no wiggle room at all with the "All inclusive" deal they offer. So as many know so much goes into that and everyone gets worried about pricing and how much more you will have to pay for linens and plate per person ! So going into my appointment today I was super nervous but then when I went in and was told that everything is included into the price ! I was able to breathe a sigh of relief ! To know that I can have a elegant and beautiful wedding for not an arm and a leg was perfect ! The staff is extremely helpful and works with you and they are so knowledgable! Hmm, looks like i had a different experience than others. They can have up to 2 weddings a day, one inside and one outside. the on water location is nice but you could see the steamships in the back ground. It is very far out of the way and you pass what looks like a junkyard on your way in. Not only that but we felt as if we were being sold to by a cheap used car salesman. (the Bentley in front when we drove up we were told belonged to the owner who is the salesman i refer to. the license plate was "party") He was actually very nice and let us try the food, i just think a lot of things with their approach were just to close the sale and really didn't listen to what we wanted. the food, i could consider uptown catering if it was just for the food, but this and their other location in beltsville definitely not for venues. There is no bridal suite, its just a curtain hung up to cover the balcony, and an attendant at the bottom of the stairs to make sure no one goes up there (no doors). the inside is lined with mirrors which just reminds me of an old dance studio, and worst thing about it which was the deciding factor was the bathroom conditions. i think 2 out of 4 didn't lock and the hallway where they are located smelled so rank. The kicker was the follow ups afterward letting us know that they had an opening on a Friday in the fall of this same year and they immediately thought of us. That's funny since we specifically said we aren't getting married until the following year and could definitely not do a Friday wedding as we had guests coming in from our of state. Our daughter was married in May 2014. We chose this venue because the view is beautiful and the sales rep explained how their staff takes care of everything the day of the wedding so all you have to worry about is showing up. Well it sounded perfect so we reserved the date. When it came down to the wedding day, thank goodness for our D.J., Dance Masters Entertainment (which were fabulous)!! We could not find the wedding coordinator during the reception. After the wait staff served everyone their salad, we waited about 45 minutes for the main course. Couldn't find the wedding coordinator. People were getting up to mingle because they were tired of waiting for the main course. After asking 3 times for the wedding coordinator to turn on the strings of lights on the ceiling, she finally did (had to run around looking for her all 3 times). The food was good however the wait staff did not speak English so it was very difficult to communicate. One of the guests did not have a seat although they were listing on the seating chart that was handed in to the wedding coordinator. This is not a cheap venue. We definitely expected much more than we got. They need to train the wedding coordinator to be as good as the sales reps.
