I had a pedicure at Celebrity Nails today. Things were going ok, then the lady asked me to bring my foot out of the water, so I put the other one down. Man, she was pissed. Said I wasn't supposed to do that because she had put cream on it and "Now I have to put lotion on it again." Big sigh, headshake). I apologized twice, she's still pissed. They have a lot of options to choose from, the staff is friendly and nice, find the manicurist you find works well with you, there are a lot of nail salons out there so they are always trying to outdo others, make sure you speak up when you don't like something about your nails, they'll fix it right away. try other places, if they're not to your liking then come here. read more

I got here at 1:27 with my friend. We had already made a reservation for 1:30. They started on our nails at about 1:36 but that's probably because they were so busy. I asked for a mani-pedi. With my manicure being a plain white and my pedicure a pale pink. They started on my pedicure first and the lady I had motioned for me to get into the chair. When I said the water was too hot she immediately changed it and the water also changes colors so that was fun. She cleaned up my feet first and then oiled my legs. I am really satisfied with how she did my toenails since she didn't cut them too short and I can honestly say that they have never looked better. Then while my toes were drying she started to clip my nails and file them. Then once she had applied the over coat to my toes she motioned for me to go over to the nail station. Then she filed and shaped my nails a bit more. Then she applied the base coat and several other coats. Then I was done. All in all it was a very satisfactory experience read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. I was in town for a wedding nearby and just needed a simple mani-pedi to polish my look. I called ahead to make sure there wasn't a wait, and was in and out within an hour. No complaints for this girl. read more

It is about a small as a salon can get before you get into closet-sized territory, but the staff were all super nice and pleasant. The technician was wonderful; she allowed me to spot-check her work as she was going, asking if I was ok with the filing job, the paint job, etc. That has NEVER happened to me before at other salons, and it has left me with some disappointing results on occasion. It was one of the best French manis I have ever had. Total perfectionist! My only complaint is that it is quite dark on the inside with very few sources of light. This is not to say that is is not clean; the place is spotless and does not reek of chemicals. If they were to remodel at any time in the near future, they should build a closet for their washer and dryer unit, and install some extra ceiling lights. read more

I wanted to go someplace new for acrylic nails. I went in the day before Prom and I was really excited because it was cheap and it seemed okay. The lady who did my nails kept saying how my nails were long but I cut it the night before and pressuring me to get gel, which I strongly did not want. Also, she asked me if I wanted long or short nails and I said medium, after she cut and filed it down, she asked me if I wanted it shorter which I did and she rolled her eyes at me. RUDE! Normally when I get acrylics, it takes an hour; but when I got it here, HOLY MOLY it took at least 1 hour and half to shape it. JUST SHAPING IT. AND THE SHAPE WAS TERRIBLE. I wanted almond but it wasn't clean enough. It was tasteless. When she finally moved onto the acrylics part, she made it WAYY TOO THICK! It wasn't the pinkish acrylic I usually got. My right nails were so much thicker than my left. It was so terrible. She asked me if I wanted nude nails because I liked going natural, but again she pressured me to get red, gold, black, etc. She was tsking at me while she was saying it so I finally gave in and got white. After it dried and I left, I found so many flaws on my nails even my friends. During prom night, all of my nails BROKE! And I didn't even do anything. I should've stuck with going to Fancy Nails and Spa at Greenbriar. Please don't go here, although they are nice ladies their quality is so terrible. read more

I was going on a trip and wanted to get a shellac (gel) manicure on my natural nails. After consulting yelp, I found Celebrity Nails close to my office. I went over lunch in the afternoon and walked right in to an empty shop with two employees watching tv. They jumped up when I walked in and I told them what I wanted. $29 was reasonable and I selected my polish color and sat down at the male technician's station as I was directed. While I waited for him to fill up a dish for hand soaking, I looked around and was surprised at how dingy the place was. There was a half painted wall and just a general sense of disrepair to the place (nothing that signaled to me that it was not safe to get my nails done though). With good yelp reviews, I expected more 'glitz' and 'shine', I suppose. The manicure was fine for a bit, until I noticed the guy had the wrong polish color, even though I had confirmed three times which shade I wanted. I pointed this out and after a painstaking exchange (the two people I encountered working there spoke ZERO English) was able to get him to go grab the right bottle. Whew, crisis averted! When he was finished doing my nails, I lifted them to inspect and was shocked to see that he had literally missed spots on the edges and failed to paint the tops. The tops I can deal with, but there were actual slivers of nail between my skin and the polish left unpainted. That is what happens when you let your baby cousin do your nails; it should not happen at a so-called professional salon. Very sweetly, I pointed out the spots to him and asked him to fix them. He just kept shaking his head. I tried to get my point across, signaling a polish re-do, but it was fruitless. If I had not had to get back to the office, I would have made a big deal about it. Against my better judgment, I paid for the service (I still tipped because I am a sucker) and left, cringing at my nails. When I showed my friends my "manicure" while on our trip, they laughed at me and was asked why I had paid for it for something so poorly done. The shellac stayed on my hands for 6 days which isn't great. Sigh. I hate to write a scathing review on one experience/technician, but they should not have unskilled people working there. While everyone has "their girl" at "their place", in any good salon, anyone working there will be able to get the job done. Celebrity Nails is clearly not a good salon based on service and cleanliness. read more

I went to this place for a bikini wax and I will never, ever go back again. The wax is $40, so I don't know what I was expecting, but the things that happened while I was there are horrible. They led me to a small room that looks like it's about to collapse onto itself with a table to lay down on (no towel, no wax paper for hygienic purposes) and waxing supplies and worst of all, no gloves for the waxer. They had one pot of wax and very small strips and you could tell they used the same waxing technique for eyebrows, face and bikini area, which is a huge no-no. The wax itself was terrible - painful, hot, and in the end, patchy and uneven. The waxer was nice but she didn't talk at all. But here are the 2 reasons I will never, ever return to this place. Once I had gotten undressed, my waxer realized she forgot something and without saying a word, opened the door and walked out, leaving me exposed to the other patrons in the salon. I was so shocked she did this I didn't even have time to react. Once she came back, I was dumbfounded and asked her to lock the door and tell me if she was leaving again, but she just smiled and continued waxing. The second thing that happened made me get up and leave. In the middle of my wax, another lady who worked there walked in, saw me getting a wax and proceeded to walk into the room, grab a few towels, and walk out. I was in such disbelief at the behavior of the employees that I told her to stop waxing right then and there. Please don't go to this salon for a bikini wax. They have no manners and they don't respect your privacy AT ALL. I didn't go here for nail services so I cant speak for that, but I literally scowl every time I pass this place. Took my daughter and two of her friends (all age 13) here for manicures and pedicures on a Thursday evening. The place is clean, the prices are reasonable, and they did a careful and professional job. I had a french manicure and my manicurist was a perfectionist-- it came out great. The ladies ended up stayed late (past closing time) to make sure our nails were thoroughly dry before we left. They were pleasant and friendly. This is an ideal place for basic nail services, but it is not a fancy spa atmosphere (and doesn't try to be). read more

3.5 stars. I don't frequent nail salons often since I can do my own nails at home for free, but I felt like treating myself today after work. I went in for a pedi and while all technicians were busy, they welcomed me in and set me up in a chair. One of the previous reviews were right, the massage chairs are awesome once you actually get it started (it's already on, but hit the power button again and you're good to go). The tech left me alone and didn't make conversation until she got ballzy enough to ask if I too was Vietnamese. We had chit chatted a bit, but no big. I got the regular pedicure and it comes with parafin wax. Usually you have to pay extra for that, so I was a happy camper. They do use sterile tools that come in new packages and there isn't that overwhelming acrylic nail smell when you walk in and the place is also fairly clean. It's tucked away in the shopping center, but if you're coming from Jermantown Rd, it's visible. Overall not the best pedi I've had, but the parafin wax puts it up there. read more

will not go back. The woman doing my pedicure cut my toe because she was being too rough. She barely appologized and then put a solution on it (without asking me). It really stung. I didn't continue with my manicure due to fear of being abused more! Hope I don't get an infection. read more

This was my go to place, but it is no longer. Number one, the woman doing my nails had a nail fungus herself and was not wearing gloves. Number two, they take short cuts with gel and it peels off within 10 days. Number three, the owner openly talks on the phone while working on clients. read more

I've gotten my nails done here for nearly a decade! It is small but very well-kept. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I'd definitely recommend if you want to be in and out and still get a good mani/pedi. read more
