I've come twice so far, and the first time, it was because I needed my gel nails removed. Michelle did a good job, but when I was choosing my color (pale pink) they didn't have the exact color so it came out muted or neutral. I was ok with it but I was hoping it was just a one time fluke. I came back bc my nail broke a couple weeks after. I asked for pink chrome nails on both my mani and pedi. I had a picture and everything, and I picked the color out. Thai, the nail artist went back and picked a color she thought was closer to my picture. I figured she would know better than me. Tell me why she chose a sparkly nail polish, just clear with pink sparkles! I cry. It looked nice sure but it wasn't the color I wanted. My toes literally look like nothing is painted on! [[HIGHLIGHT]]My finger nails were just glittery and when I said it wasn't pink enough, a male worker came over and was getting defensive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I showed him the pic and he was like "that's chrome"! When we did chrome on my one nail to try it came out as white chrome with some pink undertones. At this time it had been 3 hours so I was over it. Also, the gel wasn't painted flat, idk how to explain it but it's lumpy. I settled for the white chromey look and it was pretty but not what I wanted. I think they just don't have the color or I have to be so specific like I want this exact number, don't switch it up on me. I assure you that all of my nails grew at the same rate since my last fill. I opted to do the pedicure only. But my manicure it horrendous. I do not understand how this place is top rated. Both of my thumbs are chipped, all of my fingers are lumpy with polish, and my daughters manicure does NOT look anything like the inspiration she wanted. I hesitated because I was thinking, and the technician asked if I wanted to see the pricing and then showed me the neutral color, which was a pretty pink and she said would look like my neutral nail. I decided to choose the natural color. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then overhead the technician next to me explaining to my sister the benefits of clear builder gel, something that my technician did not explain and would've been helpful to know.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After the builder gel was applied, it did NOT look like my natural nail at all. It was like a white plaster. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In an attempt to salvage it, I asked if I could get a color like my sister was doing, and she said yes. I also wanted a silver pearl chrome. She gave me colors to choose from, and I was trying to find something with a more pink color. However before I could decide, the technician grabbed the colors from me and said that she would choose for me. She showed me a color, and I just said yes because at this point I was extremely frustrated with the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, the technician was extremely unprofessional. It seemed like she was more interested in talking with the other technicians (which I'm usually fine with but this time it seemed like that was all she wanted to do). Great experience. I came in for a pedicure and ended up trying SNS dip after learning they don't do acrylics, and I'm so glad I did. The dip turned out beautifully and might be my new favorite. The pedicure was amazing, especially since I'm on my feet 10+ hours a day, the technician really knew what she was doing. Tons of color options too, and I picked a fun, vibrant combo for both hands and feet. The dip and pedicure werent't done at the same time, but the transition between stations was smooth. I tried the head spa experience recently, and I highly recommend it. The actual massage room is inside the nail salon, which is very clean and beautifully decorated by the way I was escorted to the room first had a scan of my scalp where I was shocked to see the buildup in the roots of my hair after that, the treatment starts with lots of massaging to the hair and upper body as well as the neck and shoulders. There is a constant steam as well and relaxing music. It is truly a spa experience. I also got the mini facial and after a blissful time, your hair is blow dried and then you do an after scan where I was pretty amazed how all the buildup and other gunk in my roots were gone. I came here not for nails, but for their head massage. It was AMAZING. if you love the beginning of haircuts where they wash your hair, you would love this. It was $190 for the ultimate experience which was 90mins of glory! Started off with a scalp consulting, they had a scope to check your scalp. Apparently it's common for everyone to have a bit of dandruff, even if you don't see it. Then she stepped out so you could remove your top and wrap with a towel. Then we went over to the table and laid down. They provided a blanket and put something on your foot arch. Not sure what it was but it felt nice! This service gave a little bit of everything. It washed your hair with different types of massagers and products, a mini facial, a neck and shoulder massage (hence the removal of your top)! It felt amazing!! At the end they would used the scope again to see how the scalp looked. And she added products to their hair if you were ok with it. She even blowed dried my hair to finalize the experience. Loved it. Would definitely come back! My only issue was they need a bigger bolster for under the knee. My back started to hurt a little bit because of laying for so long where I needed a bigger bolster for support. Also whenever she would turn on the water, it would start off SO cold. A bit of a shock each time. A warning would've been nice! Tip for women - when removing the top either remove your bra as well or pull the straps down for the massage! Also if you have lashes, she is going to squish and mess them up with product and her facial massage. So beware! read more

this was my first time at the Nail Bar in fairfax. I'd been going to a different salon since moving to the area but thought i'd try something closer to me. After my initial appointment on a Wednesday I was very happy with my nails. Anna took a lot of time on my nails and was very meticulous, so I was very surprised when by Friday I had noticed the top coat peeling. I've gotten gel fills for years now and this has never happened to me. I did notice that she was using builder gel which comes in a bottle, but the one I've always seen used comes in a pot and is thicker, hard gel. When I asked if they were the same thing she told me yes so I took her word for it. I got chrome as well, but I noticed she put the color, top coat, chrome, then top coat again. I've only seen top coat over the whole thing not in between steps but figured she's the professional and knows what she's doing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Friday when I noticed my nails peeling I called and asked if I could get them repaired, due to my work schedule the soonest I could come was Monday so they were very accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I came to get them fixed Anna took off the top coat and repolished + put chrome back on, then proceeded put the builder gel (from a bottle) as a top coat. the receptionist came over to tell her something and questioned this, and she responded that "the top coat didn't work for me". I saw the same pedicurist the entire time basically that I was a customer there and unfortunately, my last visit there in June left me with a horrible infection on my toenail. My husband and I decided to celebrate an early Valentine's Day by getting pedicures. I remember that I had a good experience here with my pedicure a few years ago and was able to make a same-day appointment for both of us. We were in a #treatyoself mood so we went with the natural pedicure which consists of a warm neck wrap, nail cutting and shaping, cuticle trim, sugar scrub, paraffin wax for heels, callus removal, and massage with lotion and hot towels. We both had a super relaxing experience and our nail techs were very friendly and accommodating. It was just what we needed! Their COVID-19 procedures consist of washing your hands as soon as you arrive and mandatory mask wear. There's ample social distancing between chairs and each station is properly wiped down in between customers. They charge $1 extra for each customer for PPE which is totally fair. Additionally, they also offer contactless payment via Venmo. I'll definitely come back for more pedicures and possibly trying out a manicure again here in the future! read more

This review is only for the HAIR SPA treatment. I booked the Scalp Rejuvenating 60 minute treatment for $115, they currently have a promotion for 10% off which is why I decided to try it. When you first walk in, it looks really clean and big! I was walked back by Sydney, she provided me with the service! She is currently the only one that is able to provide the hair spa treatments. She is super kind and tells you exactly what she is doing. This was super helpful since it was my first treatment. The room vibes are soothing and relaxing. The first thing we do, is take a look at our scalp to look at buildup and the condition. Then I was brought over to the table to lay down and she had me take in a nice scent before she started. It began with a neck and shoulder massage. It felt really nice but it was over as so quickly, I barely enjoyed it. I understand that the main reason is the hair treatment, but I'll get back into this. She starts to wet my hair then starts the treatment, online it says that there is scalp exfoliation but when I was there she said that it was not included? I was a little confused about that, but I thought maybe I just read something wrong. It felt really nice when she started to shampoo and condition my hair, she used several tools to massage my scalp. When it came to the part of steaming, she did a mini facial with a face mask. I currently have lash extensions and asked if she had something to cover my lashes to protect them, she did have a eye mask which was great. Once this part of the treatment was over, she did a mini facial massage very quickly and was not careful with my lashes at all. There was so much product in my lashes they were all stuck together. Then I was brought back to the seat by the machine that looks at my scalp, where I received a brief massage for my arm, hands and upper body. Then we looked at my scalp and it did look much better! Lastly, light blow dry which I expected and some oil, which was a nice treat! Overall, it was really enjoyable, however for what you get...the regular price is steep, I think it was maybeeee worth it with the 10% off. I looked online later and it does show that a scalp exfoliation should be a part of the 60 scalp rejuvenation treatment. The whole treatment seemed extremely rushed. It probably only took 45 minutes, when it should have been 60 minutes. I did show up a couple of minutes late (9:03AM), but we started at around 9:10AM and finished by 9:54AM which was pretty disappointing. It's my fault that I came late, however I thought we would at least finish at 10AM. 6 minutes does not seem like a lot of time, but there were parts of the treatment that didn't have to feel so rushed. I am excited that we have these head spas in the DMV and I'm sure more will open over time. It definitely is a little odd that it's at nail salon vs. a hair salon, because my hair looked crazy when I left. A hair salon would never, even if it was for a light blow dry... Before I left, i thought I would maybe come back to try the 90 minute Ultimate Headspa, but definitely not for $190...maybe if they have some sort of perk again. I guess we'll see! read more

It is timed for 45 mins on the scheduler(remember that). Got in around 4:50. Got my color and sat down... that was maybe 5-7 mins later. DEAD SILENT. I usually like to make conversation. Nope. I got gel with just tips (no acrylic) which was originially $55 and she charged me a miscellaneous $25 for french... I have never been charged that much for french. UPDATE: I am revising my original 1 star review based on the fact that the owner reached out to me and offered to redo the pedicure. I went back and they did redo the pedicure. This time, they did take their time and paid attention to detail. I walked out of there feeling much better about my pedicure. I just wish it would have been done like this the first time. ORIGINAL: I have been to several places in the area to get pedicures. I have never had such a crappy pedicure. I paid extra to get a gel pedicure (I like to get them because nail polish tends to chip easily with heels and I find the gel holds up). I selected the sugar scrub gel pedicure. My nails are rough on the edges (like I scratched my other foot with a toenail). There are bumps in the polish, and it is so sloppy! Some nails are not completely covered with polish, and others have polish on my skin. I am upset I paid $65 + tip for this pedicure.
