My team was looking for a place to host two large groups of college students to train them in urban…read moreministry. When we discovered Canterbury, we knew we had found a gem. Its location is pretty special. For being only a half hour from downtown Orlando, the nature surrounding the retreat center makes it feel like you've driven for hours outside of an urban area. And the small lake around Canterbury is a great backdrop, as well. The staff, in particular, make this place extra special. I'll point out Irene, Teri, Seth, and Michael -- all of whom were so kind and easy to work with. They flexed far beyond the limits of their job descriptions to make our stay perfect. Because of them, Canterbury feels more like a bed and breakfast than a retreat and conference center. Even Arnold, who heads up the sales side of things, was super accommodating -- particularly when it came to rates and adjusting to unforeseen changes. Overall, I'd strongly recommend Canterbury to anyone looking for a spiritual retreat or a place to host approximately 100 people or less.

The activities encouraged better communication and working as a team. The initial activities, helped break the ice, and get us communicating, building trust and being there, for one another, throughout the process of the program. The activities had a meaning behind them, which was shared with us during the debrief afterwards. Each person was given the option to challenge themselves to do their part and assist their teammates. It was so much fun! It was motivating to have a team, have my back. We cheered one another and adjusted process of activities, to improve our success. No quiters here, we push through our comfort zone and relief, on each other, to reach our goal. It was a safe place and no shame. We always had the choice, to participate or not. and still be supported in your decision. After activities, we enjoyed a buffet lunch, with a great salad bar with make your own sandwiches station, with cookies and icecream to boot! :) The instructors were Awesome, interacted with of us, kept it fun and exciting!
