The student union at UCF has gotten some major upgrades recently that I'm excited to highlight in this review! The first floor has a couple of newer dining editions, such as the small bento and the sandwich shop. The steak n' shake also implemented a half-off milkshake deal for their Friday happy hour. It is also home to the brand new Volunteerism and Community Engagement (VCE) space across from the police office. While this is nothing new, I've recently checked out the bike rentals, ticket center, and eyeglass shop. The prices are fantastic and great resources for students. They are also still hosting tours of the hydroponic structures around and throughout the building from the base of the stairs. On the second floor, the Pegasus penthouse is finally open! It's an arcade for students to enjoy games, air hockey, pool, or just hang out. They've also moved the MASS office into the main OSI space, the MSC into SG's old office, and SG onto the third floor. The booths that used to be for studying (or napping) have also been transformed into gaming havens with flat screen TVs elevated above the seating and tables for any students to use. It has definitely freed up the breezeway outside! Overall, I love the union as a space for cultural events, student pride, music, and more!

    The stage is set.

Somewhat difficult to find, but once found we knew what we were there for. No, I'm not a UCF student. I was at the Student union - a place to connect, to see the Vagina Monologues. A play being put on for V-day, a global movement to end violence against women. The play was being put on by the college and produced by a friend of mine. Since I support my friends, I was there. It was really well done, all the actors were a perfect fit for their roles. The student union itself was well laid out, with eateries in every area, the person heading the Help center was very friendly. All in all, this place looks like an area that the students of UCF are lucky to have.

A beautiful building on the outside, and a mini-city on the inside. The Student Union is literally the heart of the UCF campus being in the actual center of campus and also being a hub of everything at UCF. The Student Union has a few ways to get in, but the main entrance in the front is usually packed with students inside and out. Outside the main entrance usually sees booths and tables from vendors to clubs to people selling you things. Be prepared to be confronted by a lot of people in the front. Food - The Student Union has a lot of places to eat, and they very often change. Wackadoos is their main restaurant, but they have a ton of other fast food places to eat in their cafeteria, and around the whole building. I shutter to mention any other locations to eat here because they change so fast, but I do know that they will just keep expanding the food operations. As someone who was in the Student Union everyday, I got tired of the food fast, but nevertheless, the options are abundant. Room Space - UCF has a lot of clubs and organizations, and the Student Union is a big place where they come to meet and hold events. The Student Union is four floors, and three of those floors are for the general public (4th floor is for storage, maintenance, and such). This means a lot of room to hold major events such as speakers and ceremonies, and also small gatherings of clubs. They have board rooms for serious meetings and wide open rooms that can be setup any which way. They have a full catering options, and their event services are great at planning things out for you. Computer Labs/Free Printing - A few computer labs and free printing are some great services they offer here. Take advantage of these to save yourself the cost of ink and paper at home. Forewarning though, can get very crowded during peak hours, so plan in advance especially if you need to print something right before class, it may not happen. Ticket Office - Great place to get discount tickets on everything from Disney to the movies. Just make sure to come in advance, they run out of tickets for things like Disney, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios very fast. Rentals - If you need a tent to rent, or even just use a tape measure, they have it at the Union. You'll have to hand over your student ID until you return the item, but if you need something, the Student Union probably has it available to rent. They are a great resource for pretty much everything. Also, the Student Union does more than just the actually building itself, they are the hub for renting out other spaces on campus too. Just go and ask and they can assist you with most things. Student Government Association - The Student Union has the Student Government Association (SGA) office on the 2nd floor, which is very important to students for a number of reasons. First off, they give out free scantrons and blue books to all students, all you have to do is bring your student ID and they give you one per day, don't waste your money buying them at the UCF bookstore. Also, SGA also can give you money to go on conferences all over the world. Just fill out a form, and present to a committee and you get get a couple hundred dollars to travel and attend conferences. They also give out free stuff all the time. Staff - The staff here is extremely friendly and hard working. They go out of their way to constantly make the experience better and improve the events and the physical union itself. The Student Union also is comprised of a ton of students, so this is a great place to get a job. They run a smooth operation. From the people who run the Student Union, to the people who clean the floors, everyone here for the most part is an exemplary professional at what they do. Events - A ton of events get held here, orientations, events from the OSI agencies (Homecoming, CAB, etc), academic conferences, job fairs. Whatever you can think of, it most likely will happen in the Student Union. This can make the place very crowded at all time of the day, it's a very busy place. For my last years at UCF, the Student Union was 24/5, but now that may have changed. Either way, the Student Union itself is open for many hours of the day. Study Union - During finals week, the entire Student Union converts to a big study space. They give out a ton of free stuff, coffee, study sessions etc. Especially for finals, this is a great location to come and study while somewhat being stress free. Bottom line is, the Student Union is an area you'll probably be spending a lot of time in at UCF if you come to campus. It has food, study space, places to work, places to print, places to be social, and even places to sleep. Literally the Student Union is a place of endless possibilities, and if it doesn't have something you can think of, just go to the staff and my guess is they will make it happen. Almost forgot, no matter what, DO NOT STEP ON THE PEGASUS!!!

    Brand new Chili's!

The Union sits in the center of campus and has tons to offer. There are lots of meeting rooms on the second and third floors in addition to the larger banquet rooms on the main floor. There are several eateries at the Student Union: Chili's, Qdoba, Subway, Domino's are some of the big names but they're not all open during spring break or during the holidays. Student Government, Community support as well as the Activity & Service Fee Business are also here. There's so much here that there's a guest services desk which is open from 7AM - 6PM if you can't find what you're looking for. Great resource for UCF students.

UCF Student Union is such a beautiful, organized, and well equipped building. Is not the best place to study but for a group get together or group discussion, it's great! The building had four floors, fourth floor is closed off (I have no idea why...). The third floor has a study area, a study room among other thing and many tables all around among other things. The second floor has a computer room where you can print for free if you a students and many different offices for different services. the first floor has the main desk and many places to eat. Also, recently added a private study room and a prayer room. The food; they have a bar, pretzel place, a convenience store with sushi, an ice cream shop, a food court with other eateries, and more. You can even buy a beer. There's something for everyone; from healthy options to fish & chips to chinese food. One of the things I like is the smell that goes all around the student union when the ice cream place makes it's waffles. There are also many things offer here for students such as free printing, free scantrons, and microwaves. This building is so nice looking and later in the day they even blast music (not good for studying). They also hold small activities here like giving tickets away for example. Definitely one of the best places on campus!

I will begin by saying that our wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale. Although we found the…read moreperfect venue which happened to be on a beach, I still wanted a glamorous semi-formal Disney Princess-type of wedding. We live on the East coast of FL so having a wedding in Bradenton Beach was a destination wedding for us and although I had accomplished some things on my own, I knew I would need more help. I described what type of wedding I was imagining to our venue wedding coordinator and he pointed me to Priscila of My Storybook Party. I spoke to Priscila and the rest was history. She listens so well, is extremely organized, has many fantastic ideas, is kind, and truly cares about her brides (and grooms!). I don't know what I would have done without her. We traveled out to Sarasota at least 3 different times in the months leading up to the wedding and she would always coordinate appointments and meet or even drive us around the entire weekend. Yes, you read that right - she was with us the ENTIRE weekend from early in the morning until it got dark and that's in addition to spending hours with me on the phone. On to hair and makeup. Some would call me 'high maintenance' but hey, I know what I like. I have long curly hair that I'm used to spending 2-3hours washing, straightening then curling myself on an almost daily basis. I am also accustomed to spending around an hour doing my own makeup so a VERY good makeup and hair stylist were important to me and Priscila understood that. She found a lady that had at least like 15 years of experience in the wedding hair industry and booked me a trial. Initially, I thought I wanted a loose waterfall braid with hair teased at the top so the stylist tried, but she completely rushed through my trial and my hair ended up a frizzy mess. She said she would "practice" the braid since she was rusty and be better on my wedding day. Priscila paid attention, reassured me that I shouldn't just "go with" the stylist and that she would find someone for me because she wanted me to be confident that my hair would be perfect. She spent the next few months - YES MONTHS - searching for the perfect stylist. She called me to tell me she had found the perfect guy for the job and we made another appointment just a few months before my wedding. I sat in his chair and knew he was THE ONE that I could trust with my hair on our wedding day. We booked him and EVERYONE was impressed on our wedding day, but that's another review. Priscila also recommended a great makeup artist near our home on the East Coast that we ended up paying to come across the state for the day of our wedding. Décor - Priscila went out of her way to find rental companies for everything My Storybook Party did not have for rent. She tracked down so much - linens, tables, gold wood chivalry chairs (that would work on the beach), bling chandeliers, a tall chuppah, beaded chuppah curtains, tents, twinkle lights, and plate chargers. She also made sure to work with our venue coordinator to ensure we could get exactly what we wanted despite regulations/preferred vendor requirements/etc. Centerpieces - I looked everywhere and was on Pinterest for days looking for centerpiece ideas. I did not want the typical centerpiece with flowers and FINALLY found the bling pieces I had been looking for. Instead of renting I just bought everything I thought we needed, but we were short two big pieces due to last minute cancellations. Priscila spent hours going over options with me and taking pictures of how each table should be arranged. She also tracked down the last two pieces we needed - beautiful big bling candelabras that matched our other décor. She and her assistants set up the tables for us and broke them down immediately after the wedding. All of our pieces were neatly wrapped and packed in boxes and ready to travel. Every single piece I had was accounted for and unbroken. Day of - Priscila and her assistants ran around all day making sure everything was accounted for and in the right place. She also kept popping to check on me and ensure I was doing okay and everything was on schedule. She kept to a schedule and had every detail accounted for, down to the flip flop stations strategically placed for our guests to take their heels of if they didn't realize we'd be on the beach. The "extra" décor pieces we brought were placed around our reception area beautifully by Priscila. We had orchid strands on each chair on the aisle - she took them down and arranged the orchids around our beautiful cake after the ceremony. Did I mention our cake was just featured on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style? If you're planning a party big or small, call Priscila. She and her team will be right by your side every step of the way and ensure that you're 100% pleased with every single detail, whether you want to be as involved as I was in the process or if you trust her to run with everything. Our wedding was a dream come true & if you call her, yours will be too.

I hired Priscila from My StoryBook Party as a "month of" coordinator for my daughter's destination…read morewedding at the Crosley Estate in Sarasota, FL. What initially attracted me to Priscila was her calm presence and soft-spoken voice. I was primarily looking to hire someone to keep my daughter relaxed prior to the ceremony, as we have a handful of family members who can be quite stress invoking! What I soon found was that I had hired so much more than a "bride-sitter" and "stress guard". Priscila is focused and driven. She truly knows the wedding business inside and out. I found that she could be firm and authoritative when necessary. While gentle in demeanor, she's no pushover! Priscila was quick to reply to phone calls, email, and text messages. She is full of interesting suggestions - things I never would have thought of. She referred us to several local vendors, who were not only professional, but I found to be very reasonably priced. She gladly intervened with a couple of issues that cropped up last minute, keeping the stress from my daughter. She coordinated with all of our other vendors, and created a master timeline for the entire wedding day. We were able to drop off all of our wedding items with Priscila in Sarasota a week prior to the wedding; so we didn't have to run anything to the venue on the day of. She and her team set up all of our wedding décor for us, and had all of it repacked and in our cars by the time the reception was over. Priscila truly understands that a wedding day is so much more than "just another day". With the timeline in place, there were no worries for any of the bridal party on the day of the wedding. Everyone was notified where they needed to be and at what time, and from there, Priscila and her assistants took over. Our only job on the day of the wedding was to be present. My daughter's wedding day was seamless, allowing everyone to focus on what was truly important - FAMILY! I would only do one thing differently if I had to do it over. I'd hire Priscila to handle to entire affair, instead of just the "month of" coordinating. I now understand that the money that you spend on the right wedding coordinator actually saves you so much in the long run! Thank you, Priscila Radke-Neves and My StoryBook Party! You were a breath of fresh air and felt like family by the time the wedding rolled around. You were a joy to work with!
