I originally enjoyed this place for a few years. But after several bad experiences with employees, and management responding to a google review, I have stopped going here. One bad experience was an employee made an inappropriate joke about blanking another employee if the other employee called them by the wrong name. I received a very negative and hurtful and insulting message after leaving a review about that. Another bad experience was an employee stacked two slices of pizza on top of each other, which completely ruined both slices of pizza. Another bad experience was receiving negative feedback from Celestino's after leaving a google review detailing the things above. I'm not sure if management changed at some point, but the employees seemed to lack training and customer service skills. And management lacked basic customer service skills as well. How disappointing! Things changed for the worse in just a few weeks? I ordered a large pizza to go and mistakenly didn't check before leaving. 1/4 of the pizza WAS BURNT ~ BLACK & the rest was over baked! I've requested a refund. Meh... calzone wasn't cooked all the way, nor filled all the way. I go in and wait and there's a loud and obnoxious debate between employees going on the whole time. Waiting for sauce at the end and the guy stops to change music on his phone while I stand there waiting with everything else in my order ready. Cheesy bread was done and sitting way before calzone was done, they didn't even know I had cheesy bread until I reminded them and they looked underneath and pulled it out. Dry and inconsistent. Burnt pizza! Poor customer service! Pizza place fallen from grace... Ordering from the front was fine, and timing for grabbing the pizza was 20 minutes. However, over half of our pizza was completely burnt(and inedible) on the bottom. Calling to fix the situation, there was no apology, no explanation, no attempt at customer service of any kind! Just a quick, "do you want a new pizza or a credit?" When asking how the credits worked we were told "we just look it up and then get one next time" followed by a quick " 'Kay bye". Not sure who is in charge of training, but Cele's needs to make some changes and QUICK if it's going to make it through this year. read more

recently, on october fourteenth around six to seven pm, my party of four got horrible service. for context, my party is all people of color. we went to this location, super friendly with the staff and ordered our food. around seven, apparently one of the staff members (brown hair, white girl, tattoos on arms and fingers) whispered to her co-worker (man) and said "when are they going to leave" while pointing at us. this whole location had teenagers working, but yet my party felt many mirco-aggressions. i would think those educated (assuming they are in college) would know better. as a person of color, this place is awful. the same brown haired woman proceeded to also stare at us the whole time. for what reason, we are not sure? the comment itself, however was so disgusting and disrespectful. what did we do to deserve this? worst location ever. the one in downtown is so much better and kinder. don't come here unless you want to be hate-crimed against by the staff. the only kind staff was the sweet blonde girl. she was so sweet, and happy. everyone else was awful and need a lesson on how to not be racist, better manners, and how to actually run a business. genuinely the worst. i am not the type to leave nasty reviews either like this, but i refuse to stay quiet and allow other poc (people of color) to visit here. do better. edit: saw another review for this place on google maps and guess what, it was another person of color who noticed the staff is clearly very RUDE but with white customers, very KIND. this is disgusting. how are we this far in history but yet active racism exists. wow. actually mind-blown. if i could give this place a zero star, i would. accountability should be held, because it clearly wasn't held for that poor customer. this place just gets worse and worse the more i read. but go to the downtown location instead for better staff members and environment. don't support a racist business!! read more

The pepperoni pizza with basil and garlic on it was pretty tasty! Definitely recommend! We also got a 12 piece order of wings. They were unable to to 6 one sauce and 6 another kind of sauce, so we got buffalo and those were pretty good. Lastly, we got a calzone... That was mostly ricotta cheese. So much ricotta cheese that it overpowered the other few toppings that were in the calzone. They told us that they make all of their calzones with ricotta cheese and refused to put sauce in the calzone. read more

Started off trying to place my order ... took about 5 mins to put my name in the system, and she couldn't find my street...? I spelt it about 5 times. Ordered an large 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 chicken garlic ... it was delivery, so they delivered it and the pizza was 1/2 cheese and 1/2 chicken garlic (missing the green onions, not a big deal but when your pizza is wrong, you wonder if it's someone else's order). Called them to inform them of the wrong pizza, that's all I wanted to do. I was put on the phone with the manager who offered me $10 off my next order. And informed me that they don't have green onions, and I informed him that they should change the website to the correct pizza that I would be receiving. Normally, I love Celestina's more than any other pizza place in town. Today is the first day I've been thoroughly disappointed with them. Not only was the pizza cold when it arrived, but the bottom crust was black. I'll be seriously rethinking ordering this again. It's easy enough to notice when the pizza is burned. I have searched and searched and searched for the best wings in Chico. These are not it. The Banshee is, That's another review. Being Second is not to be degraded. These wings are better that Mikes, King Arthur, Bidwell Something etc. For Delivery These ARE the BEST. I get them extra crispy with the sauce on the side. And you know what? They gosh darn come out crispy. And really, the sauces are really better than everyone else but the B place. Ask for the pizza crispy. As you can tell, I like things crispy. A large cheese-only(!) pizza went from fifteen dollars to EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! Toppings on a large pizza went from three dollars to FOUR DOLLARS PER TOPPING! Think about that, add two toppings (pepperoni, sausage) to a large pizza and that will cost you EIGHT ADDITIONAL DOLLARS for a total of TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS for a large two topping pizza! I can get a large two topping pizza from Domino's or Little Caesar's for less than eight dollars. Celestino's is now rivaling Round Table for the most insulting prices! At least Round Table offers reasonable coupons that are easy to take advantage of. Celestino's offers two dollars off of twenty dollars, or five dollars off of fifty dollars. Thanks for nothing. I'm going to switch my once-a-month Celestino's business to the other pizzeria in the same plaza. I can get TWO PLUS(!) outstanding pizzas there for the same price as one at Celstino's. Have been ordering from East Ave store at least 1 -3 times a month, food is great but delivery sucks, my home has been in same spot for over 40 years. Delivery people say lately our address doesn't show up also I live on E 5th Ave. Several times lately We have to give them all information again and again. I recommend ordering ahead for pick up. You might be waiting a while if you just drop in and order/wait. Delivery is kinda hit and miss. You will get many folks who claim the downtown 'Stino's pizza is better, but we live close to the East Ave and prefer it. Big pies, authentic NY style pizza, and my in-laws from Brooklyn agree. Service is OK. The other food is not super-great Italian. Its the pizza you want. Gluten-free is not bad, either (if you're into that sort of thing). read more

I stopped into this place after being recommended it by two of my friends from New York I didn't believe that I could be as good as they claimed (I'm also from New York and a unashamed pizza snob. I have to say this is the best pizza I've eaten since being back home. The the crust is a crispy cloud of perfection the sauce was like ambrosia from the heavens. All topped with delicious cheese. I was immediately transported back home and am not afraid to admit I was moved to tears with the sudden rush of nostalgia. This is a great pizza joint. Super quick service, great for a quick lunch and I love the pizza salad combos. -1 due to selection on the pizza slices. Another -1 due to taste and value. In summary, I feel Costco pizza is a solid 4 star benchmark and if I were to compare the two, Cellestinos is not better. read more
