This experience wound up being one of the most fun and entertaining things we have done in Ireland. To be completely clear- this is definitely a dinner geared toward tourism, but unlike a lot of people- I don't think that's a bad thing! We made reservations online about a month ago, so it was nice to only have to budget for drinks during the show. If you're like me and trying to be a baller on a budget, I recommend doing it this way so it's almost like paying in installments. The drinks were between €5.5-7 pretty much across the board, which is not bad for central Dublin at a dinner for tourists. To start, the wait staff was pleasant and very attentive. Our waitress described everything we asked about in great detail since most of the stuff on the menu I had never even said before. (Flashback to me asking what a watermelon shot was, which apparently is just a literal shot of watermelon juice.) It's a large room you're sitting in, so they have these clever lights you can just flip to get your waiter's attention. Every time we used it she was there is literally 5 seconds, and that was aside from her clearing our plates as soon as we were done. The food was very good as well. I had the salmon for dinner and it was one of the greatest dishes of salmon I have had in my life. The apple salad was unexpectedly good. Anytime people put fruit in salads I am a little skeptical, but this one was scrumptious. At the end they serve you a dish of little dessert tastes, which was very satisfying and the perfect portion for after a large meal. This finally brings me to the entertainment, which was absolutely amazing. The step dancers were so impressive and fun to watch, and they performed a variety of traditional Irish dances, not just step dancing. The band was incredibly talented, with the lead singer being both brilliant, and a great singer. He was excellent at involving the crowd in the fun and was very funny. The entire affair took 4 hours for our group because we got there when the doors opened. More people showed up closer to show time, which lasted 2 hours, but I highly recommend going early. Our group was able to visit with each other and enjoy our dinner (while asking tons of questions regarding the menu) before the show started. We also got to sit right next to the stage because we were one of the first ones there. There was no rush between courses and when we were done, we got to just have drinks while enjoying the show. I'm sure from my novel I just wrote you've gotten the impression that I enjoyed myself, but seriously if this was a TL;DR post for you- just go. It's great. read more

Live Irish step performances while eating a 3 course meal! What is better than that? You walk in, give your name, and a host brings you to your seat. Your assigned seats already have formal name cards and a nice display of candles. The food was delicious and worth the price for sure!! The performers were absolutely incredible. Drinks were a bit expensive but I feel that the reason being the amount of tourists that the Celtic Night receives. The show is held every night, seven days a week, and is right in the heart of Dublin! Easy walk from pretty much anywhere! Go see it!!! read more

I'm a student studying abroad and one of the first nights my program brought me here! I thought the food was amazing, it's three courses and really good. Drinks are separate but I tried and Irish coffee and it wasn't bad! I thought it was a good introduction to Ireland even though it's very touristy. The dancers are so good and the musicians are really good too. It taught me some Irish songs which I heard in pubs later on so definitely a good intro to life in Dublin and a fun night! read more

First the good: The show was amazing. The music was good, the mc was funny and entertaining and the dancers were phenomenal. The food was also really good. Everything I had was very flavorful and well done. They both merit 5 stars. The negative: the service. We thought it would be nice to eat during the show. It took our waitress a bit to make her way over, and we knew what we wanted so we started listing off drinks, apps, main course, and dessert. She said she would come back for dessert orders. People brought our dink's and food. We did not see our waitress again for the rest of the night. As the end drew close we finally flagged her down and asked if we could order dessert (everyone else had already eaten dessert and had Irish coffees, etc). She said the kitchen was closed but she would see (like this was our fault?) no one in our section had their checks either. We would have ordered more drinks, but no one ever came back to check on us. We weren't given waters, and our drinks ran out halfway through. Other people at our table went straight to the bar to order more drinks. 2 women left without getting dessert. It was a hot mess. We finally got our cheese plates well after the show had ended. When she came back to get our check, she had the nerve to ask how much gratuity we would like to add. Normally we are very generous tippers, especially back in the states, but when we didn't get service except for the 2 mins she came by to take our initial order, sorry no. The last few songs were hard to enjoy because we were trying to sort out this mess. It appeared that most other sections had great servers and had already paid well before the final few songs. An enjoyable evening., I do think that if you've already seen a lot of traditional Irish singing and dancing in more authentic towns - pubs, then this evening won't surprise you or seem all that thrilling, but if it's your only opportunity to really see traditional Irish entertainment, it's very good.The Menu was ok. Tourist trap. The advertising picture was Irish dancers so I assumed the dancers would play a large part in the performance. I was very wrong. I would say there was only dancing 15% of the whole performance. Most of it was men who played instruments and sang. Don't get me wrong, they were very talented and great performers but almost every bar or pub in Dublin has Irish singers or performers throughout the week so this is not much of a novelty. Food was pretty meh. They have a 3 course meal option but it was all subpar and didn't fill me up. Ended up going to get food afterwards. I got the ham hock for my first course and it was dry and I didn't eat much of it. Second course got the salmon option. It wasn't the worse thing I've eaten but it had no flavor. I got the mini trio of deserts. They were the best part but you could probably buy the same at Tescos. The server was very disorganized. I think he had too many tables and wasn't able to manage all of the work. Kept asking for water and I never got it. When I got the bill it was priced wrong and I received another's persons bill that had many upcharges and liquor. They had the wrong bill too. We all played pass your bill to the next person until you find the right one. All in all food was not worth it and the entertainment wasn't anything unique that you wouldn't be able to see at a pub for free. They shouldn't have Irish dancers as the advertising picture when that isn't the main act. Very misleading. read more

Terrible tourist trap. I'm so ashamed that we fell for this. We saw their sign advertising a 3-course dinner with live Irish music and dancing, so we stopped in and purchased tickets a few hours beforehand. We were told dinner times were available for 6, 7, or 8pm. We chose 7 and went on our merry way. When we showed up at 7, we discovered that the entertainment didn't begin until 8:30! Talk about being disappointingly early. The timing of the entertainment should have been disclosed ahead of time. Seating was done on long tables, so we ended up awkwardly smooshed together sharing a meal with other couples while we waited around for the entertainment to begin. The food was decent, but service was very rushed. I had to ask three times for a glass of water, and they gave me a hard time for asking that they wait and not immediately bring out my dessert. Finally 8:30 rolls around and the band starts playing... but the dancers didn't even show up until 9:30! By then we were bored, tired of making small-talk with strangers, and sore from sitting in uncomfortable chairs while contorting ourselves to see over people's heads onto the stage behind us. They literally danced one song and then left the stage for a break. It was awful. We left early. read more

We also learned (quickly) that is very very humid in the basement area where show is and if you are not early enough (like us) you will be seated on the left side ,which was so unbearably hot that I had to go outside (and miss most of show) to keep from feeling like hyperventilating. This was my favorite experience so far in Dublin! The service was outstanding and my group was seated directly in front of the stage. We arrived at 6:30 like our reservation said, but the show actually didn't start until 8:30. It honestly worked out really well this way, however, since we were able to leisurely enjoy our 3 course meal & be served without having to awkwardly shout to the server during the show. The salmon was especially good for dinner. The performers were really cool & made it a fun experience by engaging the audience to sing along & participate, and even poking jabs at the wait staff & keeping everything light & fun! The dancing was also awesome to watch, especially from the front row. The show ended around 10:30, so in total we were there for about 4 hours. Despite the long length, my group & I had a blast the entire time. Definitely recommend this cool Irish experience, especially if you enjoy live music and dancing! read more

You might expect a touristy experience with mediocre food. That was not the case. The music was great. The host was hilarious. The dancing was good and the was also very good. We had a great time. Highly recommend this if you want to get the exposure to Irish folk music. read more

We had a wonderful evening. I agree the times were not clear. We got there at 6:30 and the show started at 8:30 but we had dinner and drinks during that time. The Irish music and dancing was just what we had been wanting to see. The dancers were fantastic! We loved the show. The dinner was average but for $33/person for dinner and show we were happy. I kind of expected more dancing for this experience. Was mostly singing, which was good. But for the price and website of what you will experience I was underwhelmed. Was incredibly hot in the basement where this show is and even had emergency crews show up to help someone. That's when the doors finally opened to let some cool air in. read more

I would probably give it 4.5 stars, but I'll choose 5 stars over 4. I'm a little surprised by these reviews! Celtic Nights is entertaining if you are looking to listen to traditional live Irish music and watch step dancing in Dublin. Granted, it's a tourist spot and you probably won't find locals here. However, the food is yummy and between that and the entertainment, it's well worth the price. Also, the dancers were on stage for many songs! Music and dancing neared around 1 hour and 45 mins. Perhaps there are other options available that I'm not aware of but I can't see how you'd be remotely disappointed here! Relax and enjoy! read more
