Someone recommended us this pub and boy were they right about the vibes, food, and service! One of the best pubs we went to while on our visit. We came around 2 in the afternoon and it was pretty full. We did have to wait a while to get seated but they tried their best to accommodate us. While we waited we went upstairs where there was live music playing and we had Irish coffee. Once we sat service was very fast. We got the fish and chips and this was one of the best meals we had. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. This was one of our favorite spots that we tried. read more

Ate lunch at Arthur's today after the Guinness Storefront Tour. We sat at the bar and were served by Darrath. He was personable and gave us some recommendations on the whiskey and food on the menu. We ordered a braised beef sandwich which was served on toasted bread along with a side of fries. The sandwich was great, the beef was very tender and juicy. The fries however were very dense and not my favorite. Darrath also gave us some recommendations on other pubs to visit in the area. I would recommend this pub for the service and food. read more

We stopped in here on our walk back to the hotel and they may have suffered from our jet lag as partway through our drink we became so tired. I was excited to see Kopparberg on the menu as I haven't had it in eight years, but the price was a bit high at €8. Stopped by here for a break on my way to the Guinness storefront. Friendly staff. Open space. The fish and chips were good. Once the fish got cold it wasn't the same but I'm not a huge fan of fried fish, as is. But the first few bites of it warm and fresh were very good. Staff was really friendly. They even gave a few recommendations in the neighborhood to do. The bathrooms are downstairs and didn't see any sinks around. The space was taken so I left but unless the sinks are in the stalls, I don't know. Overall a great pub to just kick back and hang out. read more

Arthur's Pub was recommended by our tour guide Martin on the way to the Guinness Storehouse. After we wrapped up at Guinness we were famished. We went upstairs and was seated promptly. The waitress asked for our drink order and provided us with menus. I ordered a Jamison Barrel Select Old Fashioned and the Shepard's Pie. We were a decent bit early for our Guinness tour time, so we stopped here for lunch since it was a short walk away. Extremely glad we did. First, got to try Wicklow Wolf Eclipse Stout, which was amazing. Second, got my first serving of traditional Irish Stew, which I had been craving. This was by far my favorite meal in Ireland! This is a big statement - we were in Belfast for a week and had amazing food then we went to Dublin for two days before flying back to the US. My boyfriend & I went to this pub since it was 3 blocks away from our AirBnB and very close to the Guinness Storehouse. Great location! When you walk in, the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a pub - cozy with a fire going, lots of people (it was packed when we went for lunch but we didn't have to wait for a table - the owner cleaned a table immediately and sat us himself!) and amazing food. I had the Irish Stew & my boyfriend had the Beef & Guinness casserole. They were very filling and delicious! As I said earlier, the owner was our server and super friendly - it was a very relaxing, enjoyable meal. I highly recommend it, and I wish we could go back - maybe in a few years! read more

Poor service, disgusting restrooms. My friends and I came here for drinks and a quick bite on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty packed. We seated ourselves and waited for a server to come to our table. Eventually I figured to just go up to the bar after waiting for a good 15 minutes and the server there said we have to come up to place an order. Service should be better than that especially since it's a bar/restaurant not just a bar. Also, we wanted Moscow mules, but they could not make those since they had no shakers. Delicious food and great staff! We had the seafood chowder and corned beef sandwich and both were great. I am used to boiled corned beef, but theirs was almost like barbacoa (roasted whole then shredded and cooked again at a high temperature). It was really good! The seafood chowder had amazing flavor and lots of different seafood pieces in it. So good! One of the people working was loading the fire place and my friend struck up a convo with him about it being peat. He stopped and chatted with us for a few. Really disappointed with my experience in Arthur's. We came in to an empty pub at brunch, expecting to be seated and order promptly, but were told it was too early for food, but that they would make an exception. Fair enough. We order our food, and are asked on three separate occasions to repeat our orders back. It was €6.50 for two hash browns, two slices of gluten free bread and a small bowl of beans in sauce (which I had the misfortune of finding a hair in). I had no drink with my meal, but was still charged more than others who had meat with their meals and tea/coffee and extra toast. Was I paying extra for the gluten free bread? I surely hope not! The interior of this place is nice enough, nicer than your average old man pub, but staff don't seem to really know what they're doing. My food was so overpriced, and with the overall experience I had, I can't say I'll be coming back here. read more

The beau and I loved this brew since we tried it at the RDS craft beer festival last year and couldn't find it anywhere else, but of course we didn't look into Arthur's which was only 5 bleeding minutes away from home... The pub is actually quite lovely inside, with high ceilings letting in lots of natural light and friendly staff too who (sort of) knows their beer. A good selection of craft beer by bottle and guest tap if you have notions, or the usual suspects and of course Guinness. Lovely atmosphere! Cozy but not crammed, fireplace to boot! We are here visiting so we purposely chose a large table to have others sit and learn more about the city. Everyone who sat with us were very friendly and helpful! We had the burger and the spicy beef wrap, both were great and hot! I live nearby so I pass here on my way back from work. It's handy for a quick beer and a read of the paper. They have a great range of beers on tap and in bottle. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and helpful and the ambiance is relaxed. I am drinking the Coopers Brewery Pale Ale which is very crisp and light- not your typical pale ale. I had Smithwicks Pale ale last visit and it was good. Sierra Nevada pale ale is more my thing- lovely hints of grapefruit. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. I took one star off as I had the bangers and mash last time and the sausages were not good quality- i didnt like texture. It's a pity as it put me off eating here. I would definitely recommend Arthur's for a couple of quiet pints or a meet with local friends. read more

Ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for a table. Was sat promptly and down hill from there. ... ordered my dinner and it never came . Everyone received theirs . Steaks were cooked perfectly, but the char taste over took the whole taste of the steak. Everyone shared with me and wanted to order dessert... but oops kitchen was closed. So sadly walked home with no dinner and no dessert. One staff member who came back to clear our plates felt bad.. but that was all. I was in town on my second day from Texas, stumbled here after my trip to the Guinness storehouse. Best discovery ever. The seafood chowder is absolutely the best thing I ate in my whole two months of visiting Ireland. It was also the first place I really came to love Ireland's bread. The mixture of bread and chowder was amazing. Big chunks of meat in the soup. They don't skimp you and the price is very very fair. They have a good selection of beer on tap. I miss this place so badly. It was my favorite and a wonderful, wonderful memory that ill remember forever while traveling alone through Ireland. The service was very friendly. Obviously I'm a tourist/traveler and they were very helpful both times I was in. I walked five miles just to go to this place once more before I flew back to Texas. I was very bittersweet. Probably one of our best meals in Dublin. It's a bit off the normal tourist path even though it's right near the Guinness Storehouse. We were greeted cheerily and promptly by whom I can only assume is the owner; everything has been so great that I stopped in the middle of eating to write this because I didn't want to forget. The gentleman serving us brought out a sample of the daily soup for us to try, of which my then ordered. For lunch, I ordered the vegetable curry and my sister ordered the grilled chicken wrap with a gluten fee wrap. The food came out quickly, despite the packed pub, and our server was still very attentive. Go figure that the best food I would have in Ireland was going to be the first thing I'd randomly try when walking in here as a stop on the way to the Guinness Storehouse. The Beef & Guinness casserole was more of a stew than casserole, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was superb. It comes with a bun - does that make it a casserole? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The service was fine and the staff were friendly. My friend got the corned beef sandwich and I tried a bite; I thought it was fine, nothing special, but was very happy with my choice nonetheless.
