CEMAC deserves ALL the stars and positive reviews, they really came through for me with a recent Luminette shade repair when they weren't even the original installer!! I've been a loyal Hunter Douglas fan/customer for decades now and have had an overwhelmingly positive experience, but experienced a motor failure with one of my Luminette window treatments back in 8/2025. I contacted the HD retailer that I purchased the treatments from but learned that (1) it was out of warranty and (2) the Gen 1 motor/parts were discontinued as there was a "new generation" that was introduced in 2019. Supposedly, the only option was to order a new motor + track at $$ cost and attempt to reuse the existing fabric vanes. Based on that recommendation I placed the order for a new motor + track only to be told that due to a "parts shortage" the new motor + track would likely not be available until late 10/2025. This seemed suspect to me, so I reached out to CEMAC for a second opinion and connected with Gwen who informed me that she wasn't aware of any delays with orders and more importantly warned me that a new Gen 2 motor + track would NOT be compatible with my existing fabric vanes. Turns out that some Hunter Douglas rep may have provided inconsistent or incorrect information to my original dealer, but I obviously decided to cancel the replacement motor + track order immediately. I was then informed that my only option is a order a brand new system (motor + track + vanes) at a $$$$$ cost, which didn't make sense as it would end up looking.... exactly the same---such a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment that HD would not offer support for such expensive products. This is where Gwen stepped in to go above and beyond and the save the day. She was able to source a replacement Gen 1 motor directly from Hunter Douglas even when my original installer was unable to. Cost factor aside, it's also the practical and logical approach to attempt repair first as my fabric vanes were in perfect condition and it would be silly to unnecessarily replace. When the replacement motor arrived, we discovered that one of the components on the track was also damaged (likely due to the motor failure). Gwen proposed sending in the track to an authorized HD repair facility to see if it could be repaired, and only ordering a new system as a last resort. I SO appreciated this approach as it would literally save $$$$ (thousands!) if I could avoid having to order a new system. Happy to report that the repair approach worked and they were able to fix the track so that the replacement motor worked!! I had been living a fishbowl life for the past 3 months (every person/car that passed by could see clearly inside my kitchen/living area) but my exhibitionist Life of a Showgirl era is finally over! Endlessly grateful to CEMAC and Gwen in particular and will reach out to them first for any future window treatment (and it turns out flooring as well!) needs--highly recommend!!! ‍ read more

We replaced the blinds at our home with CEMAC, and it was a great experience. Erica was very helpful at the store and came to our home to measure all the windows accurately, and kept us informed on the schedule. The installation tech was also great, very professional and experienced. Everything went ahead of schedule. The installation tech noticed a minor issue with one of the blinds (which we did not even notice), and CEMAC had a new replacement blind made and the tech came back out and quickly reinstalled. This was all free to us, and we did not have to request anything - CEMAC suggested it to us because they stand by their products and workmanship. This is the kind of company I like to do business with. The blinds themselves look great and are super well-designed, we really like the options to open from the top or bottom, and we no longer have to deal with cords. The installer was very experienced and efficient. He was nice and considerate. He puts on shoe covers as he enter the home to keep the customer's house clean. Was recommended to this place by one of our friends and absolutely loved my experience and the final product. We went into the showroom to get an idea of what we wanted and Gwen was there to assist us. While we were renovating our house, she came over and did some measurements and I asked her a few questions about design. She got back to us with a quote a week later and we decided to hold off on getting the shades. A year later, I contacted Gwen again and went to the showroom to see other types of shades and she remembered everything about our house. A YEAR LATER and she still remembered. WOW! She gave us her honest thoughts of design and types of shades we wanted for both our living room and kitchen and went with her suggestions. We absolutely love it! She even came to the installation to ensure everything ran smoothly and helped me understand how to work the technology piece of it all. I highly recommend Cemac Window Coverings to anyone who wants beautiful, high quality, Hunter Douglas shades. I debated for a long time on whether to get Hunter Douglas shades, but after considerable thought, I decided to make the investment - and it is worth every penny!!! Since I live in West LA, I initially went with a Hunter Douglas dealer located near us. I went through consultation, picked out the shades and fabrics, but the sales person disappeared when I was ready to make a deposit. I found Cemac on the Hunter Douglas website and called to schedule an appointment. Gwen and Diane came, inspected all the windows, and gave me a quote within a few days. I was shocked that their pricing was 35% lower than what was quoted by the West LA dealer!!! I put down a deposit the same week. Fast forward a few weeks, Fernando came to install our shades. He's so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable and does a fantastic job in installing the shades. I'm so happy with our purchase. I have been researching window cover companies for several weeks. I came across a emac as their website offered Hunter Douglas products. I emailed them, requesting an appointment to meet with an in-home consultant. I advised the number of windows to be covered. (7 - 10.) In response, I received an email asking me to take the measurements so they could give me a "rough estimate". (Wouldn't that be the responsibility of the in-home consultant?) As I was not about to go around measuring all of my windows, I sent them an example of 4 windows - mind you, I mentioned in my initial email to them that I was considering 7 - 10 windows. The next day I received an email with an estimate for 4 windows - and they had determined what kind of covering/fabric was to be on those shades - at a cost of $4k Now, if they had contacted me (via email or phone...I supplied both) and scheduled a mutually agreed upon day and time, the in-home consultant would have seen the windows, done the measurements and discussed with me the kind of fabric I wanted, the kind of shade (motorized or manual) I wanted / and then supplied me with an accurate estimate - not a "rough estimate" based on what THEY determined I should have. Needless to say, I will not be considering Cemac for my window shades. read more

The customer service I received from everyone at Cemac was really friendly. My only compliant is that they were slow to respond through yelp message, there was some miscommunication regarding the timeline of the project (projected the blinds to arrive in their warehouse a month after the go-ahead for the job), and arrival of the installation (someone came to install but no communication to me about that). They did however were quick to respond to that and finishing the job was smooth and quick after that. I ordered standard blinds and found the quality of Hunter Douglas pretty well made. We did our other blinds (home depot) when we moved in ourselves to save money and be a little DYI but the ones installed my Cemac were definitely better. We have been talking about getting blackout curtains for our main bedroom for over a year but we were debating if we should get them custom made or just be cheap and buy the ones from Amazon. We couldn't stand the dark/heavy/dirty 1970s blinds (with dangerous cords) that our home had when we bought it in 2018 but after getting several incredibly high priced quotes we became very discouraged and put the project on hold for over a year. We needed to cover 2 big picture windows, 2 long/narrow jalousie windows, and 3 glass doors; a big project for us as first time home owners. I was really fortunate to find out about Cemac Window Coverings. The shades Unger helped us pick out were just what we were looking for quality/looks-wise and well inside our budget. Unger explained what levels of transparency made sense for different rooms in our house and made it easy to see how different they were based on samples he had sent to us. We also visited Unger's store when we wanted to look at a few more samples, which was helpful when making our final choice. It felt so good to get rid of the heavy blinds and replace them with simple, modern shades; our giant family room and bedroom picture windows look amazing now. We can finally see the shape of them and don't have to deal with old pieces of blinds falling off when our toddler runs through them. Unger also helped us select chains that he secured to the wall so that a child cannot get hurt on them. It is a huge relief to have clean, modern shades in our mid century home that are easy to use and look great. What makes Unger extra special is his kindness to customers and attention to service & detail. Our largest bedroom shade had some marks on it from the factory and Unger called immediately to have a replacement sent for us at no charge. The shade arrived the day before our second baby was due- even though it was Memorial Day weekend (when everyone is taking a break from working) Unger came out to our home that Monday to install the new shade so we wouldn't have to worry about getting it done after the baby comes. When you thank him Unger will tell you it's just his job to deliver great service but trust me, there are many people who would not go so above and beyond for a customer. We absolutely loved Diane when she came to consult - we obviously had no knowledge when it came to picking blinds / curtains (we just want to cover our windows - done right?) so it was great that Diane broke down the different options, talked to us about color, and also gave us recommendations. When it came time to install, Fernando is FAST and does a fantastic clean install. Purchased some Hunter Douglas PowerView shades from them and what a great experience working with Unger (owner) & Erica. It's a rarity to have the owner come to your home to ensure your shades were installed properly and help you setup the PowerView App & Hub. Would recommend them without any reservations. BTW I wished we had known about CEMAC since we had some shades done by 3 day blind and was gouged on the prices-$350 for installation that took less than 1 hour and another $250 on freight charges? The whole process was very professional and smooth I decided to change all the blinds in my house. Yolo helped me from the beginning of this job all the way thru installation. Thank you for the Drapes. The drapes were of good quality and I really appreciate how it makes the house look better. It took a few weeks for the drapes to come, but I appreciate them and your quality. I do want to say that I wish they had told me that "Black out" drapes meant it's pretty much totally dark if you close the drapes, because I was not aware that is what she meant when she said that because it wasn't explained to me. So a warning to future customers that is the definition. So I had to pay more money then I had initially expected to pay and was disappointed in that. Erica did say she gave me a cheaper price, so I appreciate that. But I had to pay more for other drapes, which I did no plan on which was disappointing. Also I did not receive a phone call when they installed the last drapes, disappointed in that. Besides those negative experiences, I am grateful that they did install the drapes and again they seem to be of good quality. However, I beg to differ for the post sale customer service, as it has been the complete opposite - slow and unresponsive. Some 5 years ago we had vertical blinds installed in 4 rooms of our home by CEMAC. The results were excellent and they all still look nice and function well. (I thought that I had reviewed the company on Yelp years ago; I would have given them 5 stars at that time, but evidently I forgot to enter that review.) As it happens, we recently had some new windows installed. After the instillation was done, it was apparent (due to the new type of window in our living room) that a set of the blinds needed adjustment or replacement. Fernando, a technician from the company, came to our home and adjusted and re-installed the same blinds on that window and they now work perfectly. Fernando was very courteous and and knowledgeable.
