This business is completely DISHONEST!!! I am a multifamily property landlord and constantly have the need for new hardwood flooring when tenants move out. I had been using this company for 6-8 years (when Mr. Chen was the owner of the business - although he always claimed he was only an employee). Prices were always higher than their competitors, but I continually went back to them because it was typically a "no-hassle" arrangement whereby I would tell them the square footage of the area I needed new hardwood for, they would send a contractor (and charge a high markup), and then bill me later. Within a day, I would go deliver cash to them (because they insisted on cash, likely for tax purposes). Anyhow, I paid a premium because I was used to working with them, and my dad, who is also a landlord who worked with them for years, referred me to them. Most recently, I had another vacancy at one of my buildings. I stopped by the shop with my wife to pick out a color. This time, it was another guy, Yao HuiLi, who claimed to be the General Manager. The pricing of the flooring was much higher than all other vendors down on Rosemead Blvd. (past Garvey), but for the convenience, I thought: "Hey, it's fine, I've been using these guys for nearly a decade and they wouldn't screw me." Boy, was I wrong!!! So the hardwood I ended up getting was $1.99 per square foot, when the competitors charge $1.59 per square foot. Yao HuiLi insisted that the price, including labor, meant that the overall cost of the flooring would be $4.08 per square foot, which INCLUDED REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING FLOORING. We were very specific during our discussions whereby he acknowledged and assured me that the $4.08 per square foot INCLUDED REMOVAL! Notably, folks, $4.08 per square is already HIGH for the SGV when it comes these laminate "hardwood" floors, but again, I thought, I know these guys and I value relationships. Long story short, when their installer arrived at the property, they called and insisted that they needed to charge another $0.50 per square foot to remove the existing flooring. When I told them that we had already agreed on the pricing a few days before, they claimed we never "really" finalize our discussion!!! What?!?!!! My wife and I both heard him tell us the price may be high, but that it included removal!!! Now, they was attempting to charge us $2.59 per square foot for installation!!! They knew that as a landlord I wanted to install the flooring quickly so I could get my unit back on the rental market (it also held up the painting and other necessary work from my other contractors to get the unit ready for rent), so they had leverage over me while the installer was already there!!!! After some back and forth, they wanted to increase the price MORE!!!! Although it wasn't really about the money for me, I didn't appreciate their underhanded business tactics! They started bluffing and telling me that if I didn't want to install the flooring on that day that the installer could leave immediately! So, I called their bluff and told them that I would just buy the materials from them since the installer was already there with all the materials at the jobsite, and that I would find my own installer, which I already had. I asked them to leave the materials there, which they initially AGREED TO, but then called back 15 minutes later and INSISTED that I pay for a delivery fee of $50.00. I told them I would pay them, but they hauled the materials back to their warehouse anyway, just to CREATE ADDITIONAL DELAYS TO MY PROJECT OUT OF SPITE!!! When I called Yao HuiLi and told them that I was an old 6-8 year client and it was VERY BAD BUSINESS to treat an old client like that, he brashly proclaimed: "WE DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE AN OLD CLIENT, A NEW CLIENT, OR NO CLIENT AT ALL. WE JUST DON'T CARE AND EVERY TRANSACTION IS DIFFERENT FOR DIFFERENT CLIENTS DEPENDING ON HOW WE FEEL!!!" What?!?! I couldn't believe the brazenness and complete disregard for honesty and bad business dealings! I called Mr. Chen (the old owner since I have his cell phone number after all the previous years of dealings with this company), but he said there was nothing he could do about it... I went down to another flooring place after this horrific encounter, got the flooring installed the next day, and saved over $1,100!!!! It was only $1,100 of savings because it was a small unit, but imagine the savings when multiplied by a bigger square footage!!! They are truly DISHONEST, and straight up LIED about the fact that it was the installer who wanted to charge extra for removing the existing flooring (when I confirmed directly with the installer that he, a 3rd-party contractor, didn't charge for removal of the existing floors). THIS BUSINESS LIES, CHEATS, AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS WITH GOOD EXISTING CLIENTS WHO HAVE DONE APPROXIMATELY 8-10 PROJECTS WITH THEM OVER THE PAST 6-8 YEARS! I normally don't write review but I have to for this. I would give this place a zero star if I could. I decided to replace my old carpet with vinyl flooring for my office space and came across this place on Yelp since is close to my house plus the reviews wasn't bad so why not give it a try. Oh boy was I wrong... Customer service: This place need a real salesperson that know how to greet a customer instead of looking at you like you are bothering them when you are trying to give them business. I'm very surprised they are still in business. I guess maybe if you speak Chinese they may be nicer. They have the younger guy there that speaks a little English but his is so RUDE and unprofessional. He should be fired but too bad I think he is probably the son of the owner. Product quality: The pricing is reasonable compared to Home Depot but you also get what you pay for. The quality of the materials is VERY HARD to work with even though the vinyl flooring it supposed to be click and lock. Most of the pieces does not click and lock easily and if you hit it too hard to close the gaps it can break. So wasted a lot of times trying to get everything to fit. When I look at YouTube video the materials from Home Depot seems to click and lock so easy compared to here. Also some of the vinyl was already damaged when I opened the boxes. I would recommend getting better quality materials and save the headaches. Finally, I was going to get the vinyl flooring to redo my downstairs from here but since I had such BAD experience with customer service and BAD material quality I would rather spend more and get the quality and services I deserve as a customer. Laminate flooring prices are reasonable from $1.19 to $1.29. Most are $1.29. Maybe negotiable. Overall, cheaper than Home Depot & Lumber Liquidator (unless there's a sale or promotion). Pretty good/nice service! They help me calculate my measurements. Also, help load up the stuff into my car. Got the wrong baseboard. Returned it without a problem~ Oh, their laminate flooring is a little shorter than what I'm used to (compare to HD & LL), even my contractor said it's odd cuz of the shorter length. We recently got our place done by this company. Few things before I begin. I am not quite sure about the quality of their products. Is it comparable to other wholesalers or products you find at home depot? Is the price comparable or is it just bad. Can't really say anything about the material now as it's been recently installed. Only time will tell. The thing I swear on my mother's grave is this. The installers are completely a sham. 1.) They were cutting the boards inside of my place. I had little furniture and electronics (TV, Printers) and when I stopped by to check on the work, my furniture was covered in floor particles. You tap the couch in sunlight and you'll see the mountain of dust coming off of it. My flatscreen, dust everywhere, in all the little places that you can't reach. They were not remotely considerate enough to cover up the few items I had with plastic and they didn't want to sweep up the floors when their day was done or bother to use plastic or anything else to cover up the new floors as they were working. Heck a cardboard would have done the job. So if had to sleep in the hosue that they were working on, i would be breathing in nothing but dust. 2.) As a result of 1.), the brand new floors by the time they were done, weren't so brand new. Scratches, chips, imperfections everywhere. Not to mention the amount of dirt and dust they dragged into my house. My mattress and sofa and electronics were covered in them. 3.)Floorboards? Yea they don't do a professional job at installing it either. Cutting precise measurements, forget it, it's eyeballed at best. 4.) Preparation of a job, don't even bother. Because they advised that we cover up the old floors with the new ones, they raised the floor of the house so that by the time they were done, my appliances will no longer fit. Any outlets didn't fit as the floor was raised and the floor boards were getting in the way of the outlet plates and they had to cut in to the floor boards but they didn't even do that right. Cocking? Be prepared as they don't patch or cock the nail holes on the floorboard. So every few inches of the floorboard, you see tiny little black dots like ants crawling on them. When asked to cock the holes or patch so the finish is professional and clean, they said no. I had to argue beyond believe for them reluctantly agree. Turns out, they only did the 1st floor and that wasn't even done right. Left me with nail holes on the floor boards on the entire 2nd floor. 5) Any cocking they've done, you'll see how badly it was done. I've also seen the padding they used below the floors show between the floor panel gaps and the floorboard. You call this a professionally done installation. No way. Has the installer or the estimator even provided this type of info? No. They have not, we simply went with their recommendation (I mean, look at all the fake positive reviews) and when things don't fit, they find micky mouse ways. 6.) Cutting things that should not have to have been cut to make certain things fit. Like doors for example. They took out the bottom part of our doors because the floor was raised. There is now no tight seal. Wind, water, condensation, moisture will come in the house and the laminate flooring is water resistant not water proof. So yea, These expensive to buy and install floor panels will not last. Any money you think you saved, goes down the drain the minute these guys take your money. 7)Be prepared to spend hundreds on cleaning your sofa, mattress, and hiring a hosue cleaning so they can get all the little dust particles out of the house. 8)Be prepared to hire another professional to finish off the cocking job they said they'd do but never finished. 9) Communication is out the door. There is definitely a language barrier so have a translator handy or google translate I suppose. Do they guarantee their work? I don't think so. I can simply leave you with this, if you need to buy materials from this company, so be it. Maybe they offer savings there. Maybe the material quality is great. Like I said, only time will tell. But do not let them install it for you. REMEMBER, DO NOT LET THEM INSTALL IT. In my line of work, I care about my clients. I care about how they feel and I take pride in my work. These installers, they will simply take your money and run. This is not how you retain clients or get any additional business. If the owners really cared about customer service, they would find professional installers that take their time to do the job right and no longer use the (Llyod and Harry) to do what it is that they did. read more

Recently moved to LA, bought my dream home, but the flooring was old and corrupted, so I purchased and replaced my kitchen, bedroom, and part of living room floor, from red sun floor and they did an awesome job. The service was good, but I had to wait for Justin to show up because he was the only person speaks English in the store, and he was professional. The handyman very experienced, they warned me some part of my house isn't even so they had to do extra work to make everything flat, took them 3 days to complete the job of 1800 square feet. Overall it was great, but I wish they could've done the project sooner(make sure you schedule couple days ahead before you want start the project). read more

Enjoyed the quality of material and the installation. So the laminate flooring that I got was 12mm and thicker than the type at Home Depot. Justin is the man who speaks both Chinese and English and he was able to help me in choosing the flooring that matched my existing floor. Justin was also nice enough that I paid the deposit amount twice and he caught that and refunded me my initial deposit amount. Flooring was done professionally and it was done in 1 day (although definitely a long day) for 15 stairs and around 550 square foot place. Hopefully, the flooring last a long time since it looks great brand new. read more

I have to tell you, Red Sun was just awesome to deal with and the floors they put into a vacant rental unit for us are just beautiful. Justin, who was my contact there, was stellar (and very patient with all my newbie questions) and everyone I dealt with when I stopped by their store was incredibly helpful. The crew that came to install came on time and were great. Their attention to detail on the install was incredible as well (even taking time to put a tiny sliver of baseboard between two nearly abutting door frames). Add to that the reasonable install price.
