Muy buena comida!
My mom likes to come here to get home style Mexicali food. If you born and raised in Mexicali this is typical of what you may have for dinner. The restaurant translates into a "supper" restaurant, and it does not disappoint. You walk in the door to almost a sure wait, but they move customers in and out quickly. I had the following items:
*Sopes: Almost good as my mom's, and that is a very good thing. Comes loaded with carne desebrada (shredded beef) and loads of lettuce and cheese. Delicious with their house salsa.
*Chile Relleno. This is a solid item. Cheesy and saucy, just the say it should be made.
*Tacos Dorados: Just like the sope described above, but in a hard fried taco. Our son takes down 3-4 of these, but you might just need two of them to fill up.
We added sides of rice and beans to everything, because it just tastes good.
Service was good. A little chaotic at time, but you do get your food in a relatively quick time considering there is almost some type of wait.
Prices were very reasonable. Also, you can park behind other cars in their small parking lot, just be ready to move if you hear someone call out your vehicle description. It can get a little loud in the restaurant, but its not too obnoxious. Anytime were are visiting relatives or in the area, this is one of our stops. read more
