We came here with a tour guide around 11am in February, and the water was not only cold, but there were not many fish. When there were fish, it was the same type of fish over and over again. Maybe she just didn't take us to the right places, but I didn't see anything that excited me. I probably wouldn't want to come here again to snorkel. There are probably much better places for it!

Yal Ku happened to be the lagoon our guide took us to. Didn't get to explore the area too much but theres a parking lot, small changing rooms, bathrooms, and a small restaurant. Several other groups were there trying to snorkel at the same but it wasn't overly crowded. We first went and got our supplies...lifevests, goggles and fitted them. Once everyone was fitted we jumped into the water and were instructed to go to a certain area of the lagoon. Some areas had slightly poor visibility--I mean, it is a lagoon, can't expect too much. Some cool things I saw included this huge school of sardines swimming right next to me and some rainbow colored fish in another area. Almost didn't want to leave the water because I was so excited to explore. Made me want to book a snorkeling trip to an island asap... Anyway, when you do come out to the parking area, you might run into the ice cream man with those pinwheel crackers~get some!

Towards the end, it was a party with them, it was such a great way to end my trip. The vibes were WONDERFUL. During the experience, we had freshly made ceviche and burgers. They were also accommodating with my dairy allergy and the drinks they made were fantastic! I appreciated the crew prioritizing safety while keeping the environment exciting and fun. I loved it! Lola took AMAZING photos of our entire experience. Jesus got photos of my friends and I snorkeling and some fishes that we saw. It was beautiful! Our guide was Alex, and he was absolutely wonderful! He drove us to the ranch where we spent time seeing all of the animals. He explained what the animals were, how they got to the wildlife sanctuary, and if they would be able to be released or not. It was an amazing and hands on experience. After the wildlife sanctuary, Alex drove us to a private cenote. We changed and jumped right into the water. We had the whole place to ourselves! He explained the history of the cenote and gave us so much cool information. We even got a little spa experience as we rubbed the calcium sediments on our skin. My wife is not…read morea confident snorkeller but with help from Luis and Limbert she went out into quite a rough sea to see the turtles and then snorkelled over some deep water in the cenote/caves. We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. Both were quite close to Playa Del Carmen/ Playacar so the longest drive was around thirty minutes. I got some great photos and at the end of the trip we were sent a Google Drive of the photos that Limbert had taken.

Never seen so much colour under the sea before, felt so privileged especially when an inquisitive turtle swam up to have a nosy at us. On Isla Mujeres, instead of staying in the north of the island (where we docked), John was excited to rent a golf cart and so we toured the less touristic, south part the island. We were picked up on time in a nice big clean car. Daniel was very friendly and was giving us history and information about the area during our ride. We parked and got on a tram to the main entrance. We entered the ruins with no issues as Daniel had all our tickets already. We were able to walk all the grounds and Daniel gave us all the amazing history and was able to answer all our questions- even the ones about the wildlife. When we retuned to the car he had a cooler with cold towels and a big variety of cold drinks for us. The excursion included lunch at a place of our choice and we asked for Daniel's suggestion as we wanted something local and not a tourist spot. He took us for some street tacos that were amazing! He was also kind enough to stop at a store so we could grab a few souvenirs and a mango stand for some fresh mango. Guilhem was prepared, professional, personable, and passionate (the adjectives starting with P were spontaneous). With the tour only being my girlfriend and I, the experience was even richer through our one-on-one interactions with Guilhem. He toured us into a gorgeous Cenote and a very small portion of a vast underground cave system that the Cenote is an entrance to. With no one else around, it truly felt like we left one world for another. Th experience on the senses was supplemented by Guilhem's description of everything around us and the history of how the Mayans used the Cenotes and caves. He was able to tie thousands of years of history to present day beautifully. Additionally, he knew how to capture the memories through great photography and he worked hard to make sure the overall experience exceeded our expectations. One of my favorite parts of our time with Guilhem was the bonus of having a traditional Mexican meal freshly prepared immediately after we came out of the Cenote. This way we not only experienced the rich underground world but the jungle as well while enjoying the food. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Playa Del Carmen.
