She was professional, thorough and her easy-going and friendly manner put me at ease immediately. She performed a minimally invasive procedure with a probe in my throat which was uncomfortable, but she made it as fast, painless and efficient as possible, offering encouragement and support. I found her very thorough, and willing to listen to my symptoms and concerns and address them. Equally important, she was kind, understanding, sympathetic and personable. She asked questions and listened to my responses, seeking more information and deeper understanding. As I've started to age and accumulate more health conditions, I've seen more and more doctors and specialists, many of whom are dismissive, uncaring and even rude. I went in to Dr. Mangat and she ordered the test. Then the results came back in positive and she ordered me the prescription that will in essence save my life because to continue on with this condition could permanently damage my kidneys and joints along with giving me a horrible quality of life (which I have been struggling with for many years!). She then asked that I see the specialist, rheumatology at USF for future treatment since this is not her specialty and I made an appointment. They are friendly professionals who are helpful when checking me in, out, and getting appointments for me that fit my schedule. Everyone seems really happy (perhaps due to the 2.5 hr mid day siesta each day). I've been quite touched by how good the doctors are with kids and how they have made the office very kid-centric. For instance, the exam room cabinets are covered with drawings made by kids during their visits. They keep them so that next visit, the kid can find their drawing (I'm not crying, you're crying). Cons- the hours. Open around 5.5 hrs/day during the week (with a mid day closure from 11:30-2) and 2.5 hrs on Saturday. While I respect the idea of work life balance in theory (and when it applies to me, of course), I don't love it when other people's work/life balance inconveniences me! Something I am working on!
